    Nice upgrade from my previous tv

    The moment I plugged this tv in, with factory settings I was impressed! For two or three days I couldn't stop staring at this set and watching movies. I'm also a gamer and it has completely enhanced the experience. After a few days though, I have started seeing a snowy effect all the time now and is more noticeable when there are dark scenes on the tv. Some darks scenes also appear pixelated. I watched a Netflix show last night and the snow was awful there. It's hit and miss when I'm watching tv and much less when I have a bluray in. Gaming has never been an issue. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the settings (still set to factory) or something I need to worry about. It has really started consuming me when I'm watching tv. It's all I can see now. Any tips would be appreciated. I'm hoping it's not a product issue and just a setting I'm missing. For now, 3 stars until I can get it figured out.

      Hi LilTm thank you for your question, to reduce the snowy effect try to follow the steps bellow:Keep in mind If your TV is high definition (HD), request a HD cable or satellite set-top box from your service provider. For best picture quality, set your cable or satellite set-top box to 1080i fixed.
      1- The type of connection from your set-top box determines the quality of the picture. For best picture quality, request a set-top box with an HDMI® connection. The second best choice is component video.The broadcaster controls the quality of the program. Some programs are broadcast in HD, while other programs are broadcast in standard definition (SD)
      2-Change Noise Reduction to Medium
      3-Change MPEG Noise Reduction Medium

    Good 60" for the price but not for gamers

    While I was originally thrilled to get this Sony on sale, I was disappointed by its performance after setup.I have a more than adequate internet speed for streaming so was unsatisfied with streaming Netflix. I found it to have issues with artifacts and refreshing speed. It looked great with slow moving scenes but as soon as there is fast moving scenes (used Avengers to test) I found it to have difficulty with jaggies and ghosting. While it is listed as 240hz effective, I had a hard time finding true specs which i believe to be 60hz. Menu was difficult to use and I could not find a gaming / pc mode and the resulting 1/4 second lag made online shooters unplayable. Sadly, I returned and will probably wait to replace until 4k tvs come down in price. However, I would say if you are in the market for an affordable 60" and not a picky viewer, this set is worth checking out and the speakers were awesome.

    I bought this Sony TV yesterday after returned my LG. I saw that LG was lot thinner and i didn't expect Sony to be that thick. I brought Sony because my Mom dad used Sony for 30 years but i think the old days are gone. It is also lot heavier than LG. Lg had more apps and when i used remote to forward the movie on you tube it was so quick and when i started to check this Sony, i turned on same movie and i pushed the forward button and movie was stuck. i had to start it over and over, had to use pause and play and finally irritated and went to sleep thinking that i will return this as well. may be go back to LG or Samsung which are same price but LG has lot of innovations

    Bought the Sony for a great price, love the picture the issues I had was the setting. Everytime I set the setting it would default back to factory setting after I turn the TV off. So I would have to reset it over again. That is the only issues I had the picture is bright great picture on 1080 HD, I am giving it 3 stars cause of this setting issues. Smooth pictures I don't do games so not sure how it does on Xbox but as far as movies and watching TV its great for the price

    Decent TV for the money if you are looking for a larger size. However I find the Samsung a lot sharper in picture. We bought this last night and will be returning it today for a Samsung. Seems that Sony products have gone downhill a bit. Our Samsung that's 3 yrs old has a sharper quality than this TV. However, the price of this TV is great, just not something I'd be happy with 6 yrs from now.

    I bought a tv considering SONY would stand up for its product. First day i called customer service about my apps not being functional. After one hour of pointless attempts the customer service representative said "Sir, i m sorry some of the apps don't work properly"..... So, if you looking for a smart tv, buy SAMSUNG.

    The tv has good sound and screen quality but it is very difficult to navigate the internet and the app store has more low level and generic app products than the main stream apps I want. I would by a better smart tv next go around for sure.

    I thought this would be a better TV. Watching regular HD channels or a movie isn't bad but watching sports is terrible or anything with motion. Picture becomes blurry. My LG has a much better picture for a TV that is almost 3 years older

    This is a basic TV, I wasn't happy with the picture quality, Although I already have an older higher end Sony that I love, I exchanged this one for a Samsung that I prefer.

    Pictures looks fine during the day but turn off the lights at night and picture breaks up and sometimes freezes. Will be calling geek squad shortly. I had a Panasonic which was much clearer.

    The sound quality us great. Not sure I am going to need a sound bar. The downfall is the picture quality. Its not as crisp as expected and at times the color seems to be off.

    Haven't picked up yet. In specs I just noticed it said Mountable - No, however, right above that it gives you the specific mount that works. Now I don't know what to believe!

    I primarily bought this TV to use with laptops for presentations using a VGA cable. When I opened the box I realized it does NOT have a VGA port as it said online.

    This television has a beautiful picture but the USB drive doesn't work at all. Also the remote sensor will be blocked if you have a soundbar.
