The TV color is fantastic. It fits in our family room and the sound is great. We are really enjoying it. The salesman was very knowledgeable also. He gave us a lot of information regarding the TV's that we were looking at and helped us with our decision on which was the right one for the space that we had.

This TV exceeded my expectations in picture quality. I think for this price point you would be hard-pressed to find a better picture. It is especially impressive in the saturation of colors, and the depth of blacks. We just watched an ocean life documentary, and we were blown away by the colors.

Great picture. I have had no problems with this TV. I read reviews of multiple TVs. It is very hard to see the difference of picture on your computer. I also looked at ads for several weeks before going to the store to look at different pictures. I chose this TV because of the picture quality and price.

Great 4k HDR performance for the price

After doing a couple weeks of research and setting at price point, I actually had the LgUH7700 and the Samsung 8000 series as my final 2 choices until I reached the store to purchase. Noticed the Sony 850 with 4k demo running and could not get away from that section of TV's. Bestbuy honored a price match from a local store of $300 off and I went with it. Once setup at home and running 4k content, my review and testing began. 4K HDR in daylight picture was perfect, beautiful. This series of TV's have true black and black flickering issues, only noticeable while viewing in low light situations. This can be "helped" but not totally solved with turning a feature (I'm not saying turn advanced contrast enhancer to off, but that's what I did) to low or off. This is the reason for 4 stars and not 5. This performance issue is also known with the 850 series across the board. Performance during sporting events like hockey were flawless. No jitter or anything, very very fluid. The presets adjust color nicely and for me required little adjustment. This particular panel I suggest is the same used for the lguh7700 and the Samsung 8800, my assumption is Sony hardware drives things alittle differently. Great value and like I said only drawback is black is not totally black, more a really dark dark grey. From side to side view I notice zero color loss. Truly a "vivid" picture. Oh upscaling looks particularly crisp making everything look natural. Glad I picked this over my final 2 choices.

I went back and forth between this and the more expensive model. While the picture wasn't quite as good it was very close and we don't watch a ton of tv so this perfectly suited our needs. I would recommend it for those who want a nice tv but don't feel it's worth the extra few grand for the oled tvs

Though there are many Ultra H.D. televisions on the market the Sony Brand is still a cut above. If you like live sports then this is the t.v., especially football where you almost feel like you are at the stadium. the only drawback is waiting for the networks to put out more ultra h.d. programing.

Pleased with overall quality and easy use of tv functions. Had no problems with set up of tv and hanging it on the wall. Pleased with wall mount but if i had an idea of upgrading a tilt walt mount it would be to have more space between the wall and the back of the tv as to get to connections easier.

We looked long at hard at all the 4K TV's, spending many evenings at stores, comparing displays' images. If you look at them closely, it's easy to see Sony hands down has the best picture. The Android-based TV programming and all of its SMART features are just icing on the cake. We love this TV!!

The Sony worked great right out of the box and the picture has been absolutely awesome since then. Besides the resolution, the contrast rivals the old Panasonic Plasma that it replaced. The Panasonic was one of the 1st Plasma TVs and I was very happy with it and expect the same from this Sony.

We didn't plan on purchasing such a large and expensive TV but as soon as we saw this one there was no going back. Definitely worth every penny and looks beautiful hanging above our fireplace. Geek squad delivered it and hung it for us, I definitely recommend paying the extra money for this service!

Switched to this Sony XBR65X850D from a 50" Panasonic plasma TV that I have had for 10 years. The Panasonic still works great, but I wanted to upgrade to a 4K TV that was at least mid tier. I think plasma TVs still offer much better picture quality in my opinion, but higher end OLED 4K TVs are much more expensive than I wanted pay. This TV was very easy to set up and although the screen is much larger than my Panasonic, the bezel is much smaller, overall it's thinner and much lighter. A lot of picture adjustment options that I still need to look into in order to get the best picture quality. I have streamed some 4K content from Amazon Prime, Netflix and an XBox One S. Picture is very good. I have the TV connected to a Denon AV receiver and don't use the TV speakers, so can't comment on the quality of the TV speakers. This Sony model uses the Android TV OS, which is fairly intuitive and with a lot of features. If you live in the Google ecosystem, then this should be a fairly easy transition. A lot of apps are available and the remote has buttons for both Google Play and Netflix. Apps also include Amazon Prime. One thing I did notice is that the whole screen gets brighter when closed captions appear on the screen. I haven't had an opportunity to troubleshoot this or contact Sony yet. Need to play around with this and research to see if others are experiencing this same issue. Will hopefully remember to come back an update this.

Replaced my 12 year old Sony 40 inch TV with this new 65 inch Sony. Watching everything from sports to travel documentaries is very impressive. The picture quality is great! Only problem is syncing the TV to the Sony soundbar, as there is a slight lag that I still haven't been able to solve.

My wife and I were recently looking for a new large screen, UHD 4K television. We went to Best Buy and viewed several big name brands. All were impressive, however, the staff highly recommended the Sony TV's with HDR. We purchased the 65 in Sony model 850D and have been very pleased so far.

We are already enjoying the tv and sound bar. The picture is excellent, and we have already enjoyed the football mode. The sound at gives the tv great volume. We watched a movie, and felt like we were in the theatre. Great sound, and a beautiful picture. The tv and sound bar were easy to set up.

If the guy behind the counter tells you to go bigger, do it. Don't get me wrong, 65" is plenty for the room I am in, and I could not justify the additional cost of a 75", but I wish I could have because I would have 10 more inches of amazing in my bonus room. Lots of preloaded apps including KODI, it runs on Android, and while I have not needed to download more apps, I think I can (check to be sure). The TV is very easy to learn how to used and it has plenty of ports and usability with a high end receiver. (Don't forget that if you use a receiver in line before your TV, you will need a 4K receiver to go with a 4K TV.) So, with all this greatness you are probably wondering why I don't give it 5 stars. One simple reason. I have fiber coming into my home and it is capable of 900 Mgps download when hardwired to the modem, and I get upwards of 300 Mgps with wireless. This TV maxes out at 20 (speed test.net) whether I am connected directly to the modem or using wifi. I don't understand how Sony could build a TV with this many bells and whistles and leave out the gigabit crowd, or even the broadband crowd that gets upwards of 65 Mgps over wire. However, after doing some research, this has been a problem since the conception of all smart TVs. They are all slower than what most people experience with their phones. All in all, I am still extremely satisfied, and would recommend this TV to anyone who wants a little more.

This is a great TV, crystal clear, responsive and the sound is much better than expected. The limited 4k material that I have available is really looking great, but when an outside shot comes on you will be knocked square on your rear, this is where the word stunning really comes into focus.

I bought this tv after doing research and some comparisons in store. The sales associate was a huge help too. I am not disappointed. I have it hooked up to a PS4 Pro and a Sony sound bar and they all work together seamlessly. Very easy initial setup. Great picture. Great for gaming in HDR.
