There are probably better televisions and there are definitely less expensive televisions, but I am very happy with this one. After two months of use the only problem I have is that I watch over the air broadcasts and it defaults to the analog station numbers and just gives a blue screen for lack of signal if .1 or .2 etc. isn't added every time a channel number is entered manually. An added benefit I was not expecting is its phenomenal job of upscaling, while the high definition broadcasts have an amazing picture, many of the standard definition substation broadcasts appear nearly in high definition. The built in speakers are fine. I recommend leaving the motion smoothing turned on so you can get used to it, it should be more realistic.

I've had this set for about a month now. My wife and I were able to set up the TV on the included pedestal with no problems. Not sure I would want to wall mount it myself. The picture is great from HD or better sources and acceptable on SD sources. I'm really happy with the color, much better than competing products. Wireless connection works without a hitch. Downloaded the MLB streaming app and it looks and works fine. The speakers are not pleasing to me, but I didn't buy it for the speakers. Using my home receiver for sound using the digital optical audio output on the TV. Sounds great this way.

Great TV but gave it 4 stars because it has a terrible remote, hard to figure out, buttons are all too close to each other and it’s easy to hit the wrong one. The menu is not easy to get to and complicated, and last of all the factory settings are not great, I had to spend a lot of time experimenting to get the picture right. Once I did it’s amazing but not easy to get there. Also tech help is useless as they don’t know much.

We purchased this tv to replace a 10-year old 50" plasma. We don't do gaming or anything like that. Originally wanted a 60" tv, but knew that Samsung had a questionable repair history. We have many Sony electronic products in our home and felt confident this was a good purchase, based on our experiences and product reviews. So we decided to go with this 65" Sony. The picture is wonderful right out of the box. After tweaking the settings, the picture is even better. It is comparable to our old plasma. Easy to set up. I agree the sound is not as good as it should be, but with thinner tv's there is little room for speakers. We purchased a $700 Sony Sound Bar and the sound is much improved. Very happy with the purchase.

The Picture is so crisp and you feel like it is in your living room happening scene by scene.
The Whites, Blues, Reds etc burst with color and clarity
A 5 Star TV for sure
Setup was easy to navigate too.

I am a Sony Tv kinda guy. I have had Samsung Panasonic Visio and now on my 2nd Sony. My first is a 55" bedroom tv.
This one takes the cake. Picture is amazing. Features are great. Easy to set up.

What can I say, it meets my expectation for this quality and price of tv. We use frequently for movies, tv, and gaming. No glitches or issues that we've encountered. Connectivity with wireless is good and picture is great. Apps available are good as well. Sound is good but we use sound bar mostly.

The good:
The picture is very good quality and in 4K it's even better.
Google integration is fantastic.
Built in apps for google and dedicated Netflix button are quite handy
Chromecast built into the TV is really nice and convenient
Though you need a PS4 controller Playstation Now looks like it will be a lot of fun
It makes earlier versions of XBox One and HDR games almost like playing brand new games, the picture quality is that good
The bad:
The sound quality is not quite as good as some TV's, but it's far from poor
Though Playstation Now is built-in, you still need to spend $50+ for a PS4
The remote is not very intuitive and can be quite clumsy and frustrating

I thought I wanted to buy a Samsung UltraHD tv, but after speaking with the Best Buy rep at the store and comparing the Sony to Samsung, I bought the Sony and have been very happy with picture quality and other tv capabilities. The tv was amazingly easy to set up. It's easy to adjust the picture quality. I haven't made many tweaks since the original picture was great (I know some technophiles have certain complaints about some picture aspects, but for the general user, you will be amazed with the picture). I haven't yet touched many of the internet-connected functionalities of the tv...there are so many that any user will find something that he/she will enjoy.

Excellent picture right out of the box. Only required some minor tweaking of some settings. Was going to take last year's model but upgraded to this model since it included High Dynamic Range. Owned a Panasonic plasma TV for 10 years before this one. Saw a definite improvement in black levels. Was a bit nervous about motion blur, but it has not been an issue. I was also able to go from a 55" to a 65" within the same footprint since the bezel is so much smaller than the Panasonic, and at almost half the price of plasma..

This TV was purchased for my dad and he and my mom love it. It fits perfectly on an old armoire that we cut the top out of, and has a very clear picture. Make sure you get a way to secure it if you are not hanging it on the wall and you have little ones around.

We ultimately went with this Sony after comparing this with a Samsung. The Samsung had better color, but I've read they can be a little fussy so the Sony seemed more user friendly and had just as good, if not a better picture. The speakers are awful, so most will want a sound bar of some kind. That is where we have run into our first problem. Once we connected the JBL sound bar that we purchased, sometimes it switches to external speakers (sound bar) and sometimes the sound comes out of both the tv and the sound bar. It's not consistent. I don't know if it's a tv problem or a sound bar problem. Also, I don't like that you have to turn off the "idle tv standby" in the settings or your tv will shut itself off. I feel like "off" should be the default and if you want that feature on, you should have to switch it on...personal preference.

We absolutely love this TV! The picture and color are outstanding and the limited 4K media we have been able to view makes us even happier about this purchase. You may want to play a bit with the settings to get the picture right for what you are watching and your room lighting. That has really made a difference for us. It's a decent remote and relatively simple to find and add apps. Lots to choose from in the Google Play store. It's an Android OS TV, in case that matters to you. So glad we went with this one. Our Samsung died pretty fast and faded out as it went, this TV is a wonderful choice.

We purchased this TV to replace an old Mitsubishi big screen TV from 2003. We looked at only Sony and Samsung and decided that the Sony XBR65X850D was the best choice at the store. We brought it home and weren't disappointed. It has brilliant color! We have it connected with HDMI cables to a Comcast cable box. It's running through a Sony A/V receiver with a Sony Blu Ray player connected. We loved the picture quality with Blu Ray discs as well. I haven't had to adjust the picture quality at all and have been most impressed by the colors of jerseys in football games, etc.

After looking at all of the different brands of Ultra HD TVs, I liked this Sony 65" much better than the Samsung and it was less expensive. Have been using it for about 9 months and have been delighted by the beautiful picture and would recommend a soundbar as the TV speakers are on the back and aimed at the wall so they don't perform well. 4K content is limited but what is available is stunning. I am enjoying the footbal games and 1080P programs are excellent. I have owned several Vizios and a Panasonic but this is the best TV I have ever owned.

Love the TV and everything about it. The ease of use and how it works. I am really getting use to having a smart TV with all of the programs that it offers. The picture itself is what i love the most as I had not purchased a TV in at least 15 years or more. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because a week after we purchased it the TV set went completely out. Sony was great on the return although we could not go back to the store and did not want to since we did not have room to put it in our car and return it. It took almost two weeks to get another TV and my husband had to re-put everything back up a second time, not easy. Need to be able to get the TV replaced faster and more convenient for the customer that spend a lot of money for a new TV.

I have had this TV for 2 months now and couldn't be happier. I have no issues with any bleeding or lost pixels. The picture quality is amazing - I never trust what you see in the stores, but it certainly blows away the 3 year old Vizio this set is replacing. I have been watching NFL football games and other sporting events and have not noticed any motion blur. I have a Sony sound bar hooked up so can't comment on internal speakers.

We purchased this tv to get a larger screen tv. The picture clarity and color is great. It has several inputs so that many different devices can be connected. It is also connected to our wi-fi and that works great as well.
