Picture is great and really fills up the wall space when hung on the wall. Very light weight and easy to install with proper tools. The sales price was very competetive while still be a top brand name. Great purchase

I read many reviews before purchasing and I cannot understand the negative reviews. Picture is great and setup was easy. I do not expect much sound from a tv as it's connected to a sound system. Wall mounted and use the smart features. Maybe I got lucky as I did not have to do any of the complicated custom calibrations and was able to use one of the preconfigured setting. Used the THX app for my iPhone and confirmed settings were good.

Great TV, center speaker placement challenges

Really enjoy this TV. Great image quality from all angles. Good number of inputs. Nice Android interface and easily cast content from your laptop as well as the normal SMART features. Easy to move around (light). Only MINOR complaint is the TV stand sits in the center of the TV area and barely raising the TV ... this creates challenges for center channel speaker placement in that it then obscure the very bottom of the viewing area and more importantly, obscure the IR sensor for the remote. I wound up using an IR extender to solve the problem (as I was not going to mount the TV to the wall).

The Best Buy associate who worked with us did a fantastic job of explaining the differences among the many TVs we looked at. He was able to make it easy for us to sort out things we wanted and things we did not need.
This Sony TV has a fantastic picture, great color, and super interrnet features. Setup was easy and fast. Even the packaging is well designed for easy removal and handling.

Purchasing at Best Buy was very good. Representatives were knowledgeable and so helpfu! This product is awesome! The installer was fantastic but the problems disposing my old TV was terrible! Called endlessly, no response, statements they'd be out and no one came or called. Cost me and others time from work without concern for the customer even the regional manager called once and made promises and never followed through or contacted me to change the puck up follow up! Absolutely unprofessional, inconvenient and costly to me as the consumer that paid over $3k on my purchase! This definitely does impact my recommendations to others and consideration of making future purchases from Best Buy! Buy the awesome Sony 4K elsewhere!

This TV is brilliant. The setup was easy. It synced well with my surround sound, PS4, WiiU, and Chromecast. The picture is gorgeous. The Football mode bring the game to life. Upscaling of video is flawless and 4k content is mesmerizing. Check out YouTube for lots of 4k videos or hookup your own phone or goPro videos to show what you saw in real life.

I watch a good deal of sports and was very concerned about motion blur, especially since technically speaking this set officially only has a 60hz refresh rate that the 4k X1 processor augments. I've watched several football and hockey games and the only blur I've seen is in the stands where the 4k upgrade tries to show every strand of the protective netting behind the rink or every single individual on the opposite side of the football stadium while the camera is in motion. The TV is that good. There has been no artifacting whatsoever on the field or on the rink when everything is in motion, and it's been easy to spot the different resolutions of the lesser secondary cameras used during live broadcasts. Again, the TV is that good.
Some other little things I can say are that I was surprised to be able to control both my PS4 and Apple TV 4th gen with the remote control, and I didn't even have to do a thing to the devices themselves. Just hooked up my HDMI cables, and there. As far as the smart tv capabilities, they are pretty cool. But for me not all that necessary, as I have many things to do the same thing as the smart tv.

We originally picked a Samsung tv that was on sale, but the salesman showed us this and we have not been dissappointed. Out of the box great picture, we have tweeked it a little now and will probably do so some more, but overall no problems. Easy to set up and it did the update thing after we connected it to the wi fi. We have not messed with the apps much, but will do and will keep you posted. Great product and price, usual Best Buy efficient delivery and basic set up.
Very pleased with our overall experience so far.

Compared the big three flat screen manufacturers Sony, Samsung and LG. at my local Best Buy store. I went in over lunch and some weekends for a month before making a purchase. My goal was to get all the info from several employees, view the various flat screens and then buy one on black Friday or at least when black Friday prices were released. All 3 had good looking pictures, good contrast. I wanted a 120HZ chasis with good motion rate. None of the manufactures use the same numbers. I was told a 120 HZ chasis would have better motion rate than a 60HZ chasis. I settled on the Sony for two reasons. First the blacks were blacker in the store, unless you were viewing the OLED screens by LG. Second the black Friday price was $1499.95. A better deal than the LG $1699.95 or the Samsung $1899.95. The Sony also had two seperate processors one dedicated to image the other dedicated to the apps. This seemed better than one processor split into 4. (Quad core processor). I was not interested in 3D. Glad I purchased the Sony it looks wonerful in my home. The price was fantastic! Worth the wait. Geek squad did a good job on the wall mount.

Our previous Sony TV is over 15 years old and going strong. I hope the new one lasts that long. The picture looks great! The navigation is easy. It's lightweight enough for me to hold it in place while my wife connected the wires and wall-mount hardware. We had a little trouble connecting to wifi even though the router is in the next room, so we hard wired instead. My only other complaint is the picture is a little dark when viewed from an angle.

The Cox HD channels are great! The best is the 4k videos on you tube or Pluto. The TV is a very user friendly machine! It is a great big window to the world! Quality is above my expectations! Love the connectivity to everything,
ONLY 1 Con, The speakers are not great at all. You NEED a sound bar.
I got the 80 watt Sony bar at Walmart. Now the TV is alive!

Very happy with tv. If there was one downside (if you would call it that), it took a while to get use to how vivid the picture is. Everything I watched looked like those mid afternoon soap operas you see on tv...super vivid and almost fake. Now that I've had the tv a few weeks it's grown on me and am very happy with the purchase. Oh, my previous tv was a 50 inch flat screen and this on is far lighter despite being larger.

It was between this tv and the Samsung JS7000. I ultimately chose the Sony because I thought it had a better picture and reviews said it has better upscaling. My only complaint, and I may exchange it over this, is that during dark scenes in a dark room the upper left corner may have a wee bit of light leakage. The blacks are nice, no jutter or blur. Android TV has been ok, but am hoping more apps get released soon.

The search for a replacement TV was long overdue. After looking at the comps, Samsung, LG and even the VIZIO, we opted for the Sony. It was just shy of 2K but after a week passed, it went on sale and I had no problem in getting the difference refunded.
The Salesman was very helpful, knowledgeable and did not pressure us despite answering the many questions asked.
The TV has an unprecedented picture. The setup wasn't too bad either. Don't cheat yourself with the thinner and cheaper HDMI cables. Yes they do make a difference when processing the 4K signals. The many HDMI ports, makes connecting all of your components very easy. The TV is actually bigger than it looked in the store, so don't think that you may have to go bigger. Just be sure you have a decent viewing distance to eliminate that front row theater experience.
You will love this TV, Sony has really put in the technology that will satisfy you for years to come!

Quick review: fantastic picture quality (HDR looks great); color is accurate (skin tones look like skin tones); clarity and upscaling are still way ahead of Samsung/LG/Vizio. Like all thin tv's these days the speakers are weak; use with a sound bar!; use standard picture setting with "smooth" motion control and "ambient light control" settings turned OFF and the television is plenty bright for your living room; android operating system is a mixed bag and slower than LG's web os3. It works and is stable but I would've preferred something more akin to their PS4 OS. I've owned so many brands of televisions over the last 20 years it's embarrassing that we spend as much as we do on TV's but we have a large household and get the mileage out of them.
Long review: I've bought many brands of televisions over the last 20 years and though mainline review sources such as consumer reports are grading many of the Samsungs higher than Sony, real world usage is proving much better with the Sony's in our household. We now own 3 Sony televisions - this 65" 850D, 2015's 65" 810c and a 2007 40" LCD model KDL40SL130. I've owned several 50"+ screen panasonics (plasma turned out to have the shortest life), two Samsungs, two LG's and one Vizio. We have a large household (5 kids) so our tv's are heavily used. If you're a stickler for lifelike non-overblown non-oversaturated color, then Sony is the only way to go. Some people love cartoon looking overblown skin tones but I hate that look. Sony gets color and clarity right every time, even on their more basic TV's. This model has a beautifully color accurate picture that I saw couldn't be matched by even the Samsung KS9000 which was the step up from the KS8000 I was debating. You need to take your own USB video file and plug them into the televisions you're considering in the store to be able to compare the images side by side. For 1080p upscaling to 4K, Sony runs away with it. It's literally no contest. Colors are more lifelike and accurate and clarity is superior. The other area Sony excels in is motion - Not the "smooth" motion setting that makes everything look like a soap opera but sports and fast action motion. This TV has exceptional motion clarity. Virtually all review sources tout Sony's dominance here and that was my 2nd reason for going with another Sony. HDR is still a luxury and will be for another year as providers slowly start broadcasting with it. For 1080p upscaling to 4K, Sony is still the only way to go. Netflix and Amazon HDR shows look great on this TV. For everyday, all around movie, sports and gaming, this tv is the best one in the $1000-2000 price range.
