Honestly, I am obsessed with this TV. I was unsure if spending the extra dollars to get the X930D was worth it, when the X850D was so similar, but I'm really happy with my choice. The black levels on this TV are awesome, and while they don't compete with OLED, they come very close! I also love Android TV because of how integrated it is with both Android, Chrome, and iOS. Big fan.

I was using Consumer Reports, and different sites for feedback. I initially was shopping for the Samsung SUHD, and was introduced to the LG OLED. When I saw the Sony on display in Best Buy, I immediately was stunned by the picture quality. In my opinion, it was a great compromise to spending nearly double the price on the LG! I am very happy with the purchase, and the knowledge of the staff that helped me. Sidenote: I did not wall mount the TV. I followed the recommendation, and anchored it to the wall with the supplied attachments (Strongly recommend).

This TV is great! Picture is crystal clear and colors are extremely vibrant. It's thin and lightweight design makes it easy to move or mount. Love it!

    It's ok for 4K

Let me start by saying that we had a Sony XBR65X930C and ASOLUTELY loved it. The upconversion on both the 930C and 930D is world class. There aren't any other 4K TV's that I have found out there that upconvert as great as these do. The only problem is that Sony had little problems and failures going on with all 3 that we had. Best Buy couldn't get anymore to replace it so they made an excellent offer in getting us a XBR65X930D. This thing has not had any annoyances like the 930C, and we don't think that the picture is any better (maybe a little worse). But the biggest disappointment is the terrible 3D. Every review that I have read about the 3D on this TV has had the same opinion. The 3D on the 930C was immersive and awesome. True 4K is the only place that this TV shines. For the price, I can't recommend this TV to a friend.

After several weeks of research (and multiple trips to the store) I finally decided to purchase the 65" Sony XBR-930D. In the end, it came down to the Sony and the Samsung KS9000, but the Sony had a better design (IMO) and better overall PQ. After a few weeks with the set, I'm happy with the purchase, but there are a few things that make me question the purchase. The overall picture quality is fantastic. But in darker scenes, light bloom around bright elements is very noticeable and often extends horizontally across the whole screen, even if the bright element is small (like the glare from eyeglasses). Opening credits often illuminate the corner of the screen. Altering the picture settings helped a bit, but it's still very distracting at times, especially with HRD content. The biggest issue, however, is with the audio/video sync. The video sometimes precedes the audio by up to 100-125ms. This happens even when using the TV's smart apps and built in speakers (which are awful). My Sony AV receiver lets me delay audio, but that only makes the situation worse. There's no way to delay video. I even asked the Sony rep at Best Buy if he knew how to fix it and his only solution was to update the app, which did nothing. Every other day or so, it requires a few clicks of the power button to turn the TV on. And about once a week, the TV will turn back on immediately after turning it off. Not deal breakers, but small annoyances. Overall, it's a decent TV... but for this price point, I expected a little more.

Pros: Decent Picture Cons: Frequent restarts for no apparent reason Sometimes, it just turns off despite setting the television to never shut off/sleep etc. Apps shut off/fail daily This was Sony's take on Android TV. I own a Nvidia Shield which I love and thought having a television operating on this platform would be great. I was wrong. The television is really annoying. I have it set to automatically detect the input but it often does not forcing one to manually set the picture; e.g. HDR. Apps fail frequently displaying a message on-screen which must be manually turned off. You can be in the middle of a movie and see "Sorry Google has stopped" leaving you to fish around for the remote to turn off the message. I haven't been able to get my X-Box to fully recognize HDR. It displays in 4K but will not support HDR despite the specifications of the TV which indicate it is capable of displaying. My personal favorite is the ability to set HDMI input at a resolution the television does not support. Mind you, I'm not talkiing about an external box, I am talking about the televisions own internal settings i.e. it doesn't support enhanced HDMI but you can set the inputs that way. By contrast, I have a smaller Samsung 4K TV in the bedroom; it's flawless. The smart remote even recognized all of my devices without any setup. I strongly recommend a Samsung. I wish I had never purchased this TV.

We bought the Sony 930D about a 3 weeks ago. The TV works great and the picture is spectacular. It is everything we expected and more. However, the TV went on sale at Bestbuy 3 weeks after we purchased it and was $300 less. We wanted to buy another TV for the bedroom and we asked customer service to credit the $300 toward the new TV. They were rude and refused. So no more Bestbuy purchases if they won't price match their own prices.

Had this tv for over a month and it works great. Great picture. There are a few reasons I would not rate this a five. Volume is not great. You have to raise the volume pretty loud to hear it. The 3d portion of the tv is why I purchased it. Has a great picture, but sadly to my disbelief, does not come with a set of glasses. For a tv that you are paying $2,400 , and then having to pay an additional $40 to $50 for one pair of glasses ( must be active 3d glasses) I found very uncomfortable.

Great picture with deep blacks. Really glad I didn't spend the extra $800 to get the LG OLED. If the Sony isn't as good, it's darned close.

We are not Techy people but love this Tv! Amazing picture quality! Was able to set up fairly easy! Haven't used smart part of Tv but mostly bought it for the beautiful picture display we saw at the store! It doesn't disappoint if that's what your looking for! The sound is doable if you don't have a sound system! We don't may add that! Over all if you have a smart phone it isn't that hard to figure out! And Fantastic Picture Quality! Heard bad things about the remote it works fine for us! 5 Stars so far have had for a month!

This is a fantastic TV, once it has been calibrated. Out of the box the picture has great color, but lacked the sharpness of a plasma. After calibrating the TV based on settings found through some online research, the picture is amazing - bright and crisp with amazing color.

I read and watched many reviews on the Sony 930D. Some good some bad. The picture on the Sony was beautiful, but that's where all the positives about this TV ends. When I opened the box, the first thing I checked was the top of the screen, if it was bent. It was, but I was able to get it somewhat straight by hand. The metal they used to frame the screen is VERY bendable. I don't know if they used cheap steel or aluminum for the frame. All I know for sure it certainly isn't rigid. Black uniformity was lacking around the edges of the screen (light bleed) because of being edge lit. AndroidTV is slow to boot, the menus were slow to change, everything about the operating system seemed slow. Probably has a cheap processor and not enough fast RAM memory. Fast action like sports was ok in Sports Mode, could have been better. Movies did suffer from some screen refresh problems causing the motion to blur. Gaming, FORGET IT. The input lag on this TV is horrendous. Even for none shooter games the input lag unbearable. So I reset the OS and took it back to Best Buy. I decided to get the Vizio M-Series 70". Though it doesn't have the same picture quality the Sony has, it has a faster processor dedicated to image processing only. Vizio's don't have an operating system, they use SmartCast to control the tv from an included Android Tablet. The input lag is great for gaming and sports and movies look good too. Highly recommend.

I didn't know there could be a much color depth in the blacks. The Sony Rep was very helpful in picking the best bang for my buck. This TV was an open box purchase, and the Sony Rep personally checked out the TV to ensure the crack in the bezel was only cosmetic. I got a $2700 TV for $1700. I'm glad I didn't go bigger than 65" because the motion makes me seasick if I stare at TV too long and too close. Clarity and color of this TV are perfect! 9000 series are a must!! Pick up a sound bar though... sound isn't that great!
