Purchased three TVs before this Sony. Two LGs and a Samsung that were between $700 and $1300. Returned them all. The Sony is by far the best. The LGs could not match the picture quality and the Samsung had edge lighting issues. The Sony is edge lit but whatever technology they use eliminates the effect. Motion is great. Colors are great. Streaming such as Netflix and Amazon prime is awesome. Obviously costs more but is worth it and still way less than an OLED. Only gripe is that I would not use the remote as a universal. Thanks to the BB rep for recommending it.

The best high end TV for "reasonable" money ATM

I'm equal parts videophile/audiophile everything has to have perfect synergy. I spend on good products that I feel compare well to others much more expensive or represent the best in class and/or an outstanding value. This is the most expensive TV(actually single electronic item yet) I've ever purchased plus I've got a 5.2 system with high end speakers, dual sealed subs and a brand new high end receiver. This TV cost me more than all other components in my system combined even my top notch wiring and power protection included(maybe except my HTPC but it's old anyway and due for a reboot ... hello Best Buy); so expectations were high to say the least. Initially I was dissapointed, the picture is not going to floor you when you first hook it up you really have to tinker with the settings to get the kind of picture you'd expect for the price but when you do it's amazing and I can only speak for 1080p viewing no 4k at home yet. My previous TV was a 2012 Panasonic plasma Viera I have now in my bedroom, great tv better in respect to black level strength uniformity and film like quality to the image even current OLEDs don't trounce it in all areas it never has any motion blur issues ever unlike the LGs that cost ridiculous money. This Sony really deserves 4.5 stars but that's not possible so I gave 5, the only issue with this being it's light dispersion(with white text) over an all black background like when watching the credits take away from it's perfection settings can somewhat help but it never goes away and it hurts the black levels which would have been as good as any otherwise. The 75 inch 940D doesn't have this problem but at twice the price of this I passed. The pros are definitely the resolution, clarity and colors; u could sit far back and still spot minute details u couldn't on the best 1080 panel and I'm watching 1080p content so u have to respect the X1 engine's 4k upscaling. The colors distinction @ 1080p would be about the jump u notice from 720p to 1080p I can only imagine what 4k content with the right settings would bring to the table. One last thing this TV's to be honest is more source dependent than others low quality images won't look to good because it presents a sharp picture with a lot of resolution so u will see flaws like compresion artifacts and video noise exaggerated somewhat but if u put on a Blu Ray quality source sit back and be astounded. I plan to own this a long time but my next TV will be an OLED, maybe when Sony starts making em.

So I was talked into the SONY Bravias after speaking with a SONY expert at BB. He had us compare the pictures and explained that the Samsungs digitize the black. SONY's is true black. You can definitely see the difference. Not taking anything away from Samsung, they are great TVs, but I figured I'd spend a little more and get the better pic quality. Haven't really got the full experience yet, but from what I've seen the picture is amazing. It also has a lot of great features for a smart TV. I haven't tried out the 3D yet but looking forward to that as well.

We went to the store 2 different times before finally deciding to buy this particular TV. When we went back the second time, we were assisted by a young man in the Magnolia Home Theater department. He was very helpful and spent a significant amount of time helping us make the right decision. The TV has a beautiful picture and the is ultra thin - which was a concern when reading reviews stating there was a problem with the screen bent right out of the box. Amazing choice for the price.

The size is great and the color is wonderful. The picture is very clear. I had to get a sound bar because the sound needed to be upped. Other than the sound needing help everything else has been better than I expected as far as quality goes.

I got this TV about 3 weeks back. The colors and blacks are awesome. Watched a lot of 4k content on YouTube and netflix and i am amazed. The only negative point i can come up with is this TV does not have a web browser. Did not explore the 3D feature yet but not crazy about it anyways. This TV's blacks are very close to OLED blacks. Love my new TV. Best buy team was very professional in helping me select the right product.

Deep black, bright whites, colors are crisp and clean. I am using the Cinema Pro picture setting and it looks really good for an out of the box setting. When I have some more time I will dig a little deeper into picture settings. TV is really easy to setup and is easy to get around the smart features. I was back and forth between this TV and the Samsung 8000 series. went with the Sony due to better blacks.

I have now owned this Sony Television for a little over 2 moths, it was a great choice it sits in my living room and it is the "center piece " everyone ask what kind of TV is it or makes comments like wow nice TV. As far as the Television goes it is great sleek design, highlights refresh rate of 960 just amazing, luminosity display, plenty of inputs for all your needs, accompanied by a Xbox one s the Ultra 4k movies look incredibly, and with the surround sound it gives you the theater experience that you might be looking for.

I like every thing about this TV, picture quality is great with the exception of some uneven grayness leaking through the dark or black scene's of a program but it very acceptable in all cases. The other issue is the quality of the built in speakers do not produce the best of sound but I usually use external speakers so not a problem either. Flexibility in set up is really good and operating system and apps work better and faster than on any other blueray or TV I have owned. It is very nice to have Netflix load and work quickly. We have the TV hanging on the brick fireplace using the Sony mounting kit. I would recommend using their kit over aftermarket ones for a flat to the wall mount. Overall, great buy and much less than the OLED TV's which is was my first choice but I could not see spending the extra money.

I bought this to replace my 50" Pioneer Kuro when I movies into a bigger house (I moved the Pioneer into my bedroom). Obviously this TV had very big shoes to fill but I am very happy with how well it does. I got it on sale for $1999.98 and it is by far the best TV for the money. I also brought home an LG OLED and while the Blacks were a little better, the upscaling of 1080p from my Comcast X1 box was terrible. The Sony does an amazing job of making bad content look great. Overall the OLED wasn't worth it to me at all.

Just bought this TV, so trying all the options. Here is what all I noticed. Pros so far: Sleek design Faster processor 4K upscaling is fantastic - Saw 4K movies & videos. Content is very sharp. Blacks look great, balanced color quality. Cons: Netflix app is crashes a lot, have to restart TV to turn it back on. No 3D glasses, I would really love if manufacturer added glasses to go with. Not happy with audio quality so bought Sony sound bar to boost sound.

I searched 4k TV's for a long time. When I saw the list of features in this set (Triluminos Display, 4k X-Reality Pro, MotionFlow XR960, 4k Processor X1, X-tended Dynamic Range, 3D and 4k HDR) at such a great price for the 65", I jumped on it. And I am glad I did. Blacks look reasonably black, colors are awesome and motion (in sporting events) is nice. I have mine set so that flesh color is excellent. The frame on my TV is perfectly straight (a concern of others). My only complaint is that white lettering on a black background did not look good. So, I don't read the credits :) I do wish that there was more 4k content available -- but that's not the TV's fault.

I was debating between 3 TVs last month. This Sony, Vizio P series, or LG OLED. I really wanted the OLED but I could not convince myself to pay 50% more for a slightly better TV. And my wife didn't like Vizio, the brand. Long story short, I was amazed when I turned this TV on at home. Tried some HDR 4K contents from Amazon and I was blown away. Very bright, clear and natural looking (looking at you, Samsung) pictures. Dark scenes are very clear too. Even 1080p contents look awesome. Viewing angle is very wide. This TV is mounted on the wall close to the ceiling and I have no issue getting the best color from any corner in the living room. I noticed a bit uneven brightness on the edges of the screen in the first day. I saw it only when the whole screen is showing a blank solid color image. But I don't notice it anymore. May have warmed up I guess. Android TV is very nice, I can download apps from Google Play. Playing video from an native app is always better than using a set top box through HDMI. The remote has a mic built in. You can use it for Google search or search in Youtube app. The only down side of the TV is lack of Dolby Vision. If Dolby Vision become the industry standard for HDR, we will be left out in the cold. Overall, I am very satisfied with the unit.

SONY remains top of industry as exhibited via the image quality presented in the 930D. Blacks, colors, sharp images via advanced upscaling are just a few of the technical highlights this 930D unit presents. Best Buy experience TOP of industry. From purchase to delivery and follow up, I can not imagine why anyone would not want this personalized attention. Having real people who care handle every step of process.... OUTSTANDING!

Our return to Sony after years with Samsung. Beautiful set, picture quaility is outstanding and loved thats this smart TV is android based. Kodi app is great if you love movies. From the Kodi app down load something called Exodus and you can literally watch any movie including movies that are so new they are still in the theaters, for FREE. We got rid of all our premium movie channels and have just basic cable now saving a lot of money. The remote for the TV is great just wish it was back lit, has a preset button for Netflix which is the only extra thing we pay our cable company for ($9.99 a month) but frankly we opt to pay this just for convience sake everything on Netflix can be watched for free on Kodi/Exodus. The speakers just like all very thin TV's are just OK but like most people we don't use them and have this set hooked up to a surround speaker system. One thing i should mention is this is our second TV the first one we got worked great for one day and then it developed a red bar along the bottom of the screen the next day. We returned the TV to BestBuy and after briefly thinking we might have made a mistake not sticking with Samsung we gave this Sony TV another try and we are glad we did, no problems with this one (knock on wood) We also have this hooked up to a Samsung 4K/3D bluray player and this seems to be a match made in Heaven, they are made for each other. As always customer service at BestBuy was outstanding and there was no problem returning the deffective first TV. Wouldn't buy electronics anyplace else.

Awsome 2D picture, 3D does not work

Good: -2D Picture Quality is beautiful. Coming from an old Samsung UN55D800, it is night and day better than my old TV. Looks better then most movie theaters these days. -The upscaler on this TV does amazing things with regular 1080i/p and low def signals as well. Even on heavily compressed satellite channel’s it looks great. Still amazed at the difference from my old TV. -Excellent black levels -No light bleed from the edges even though this is an edge lit set. -This set can be extremely bright if you need/want it to be. Bad: -3D is unusable on this TV. The glasses sync OK with the TV, but there is cross-talk between the left and right eye frames giving you ghosted images for any object on screen for anything far forward or backwards. It looks like the motion processing or 24p conversion is merging the frames together. Hoping this will eventually get fixed with a firmware update. No combination of settings seems to improve this, I have tried them all. NOTE: Other reviews online suggest only the 65” model suffers from this and the 55” is OK. -Minor Clouding in the center of the screen on mostly black images. Does not appear on normal viewing, only on a few specific scenes and when the TV first turns on during the android boot screen. Minor Annoyances: -Remote is IR for most functions, only the Mic for the voice command is blue-tooth -Cable guides on the box of the TV are way too small. None of my cables fit through them as my cables are thicker then the cable guides. -Have had to reboot the TV from time to time due to the OS misbehaving. -DirecTV Ready App: Sound cuts out when using menu if Dolby Digital is enabled when it tries to play the “Bonk” sound if you do something invalid like scroll off the end of a list. It is caused by it switching to PCM for the sound effect then back to Dolby for the show in the background. -DirecTV Ready: Can’t set the DirecTV app as the default input for the “TV” button on the remote. -DirecTV Ready: Can’t control the scaling of low def channel (there are still some low def only channels out there). It will always stretch them. Would prefer to have it letter box them. -DirecTV Ready: Menu’s are soft/blurred slightly compared to external 2K DirecTV box. Most likely due to the way it drawing them in the 4K mode, I suspect it is drawing them at 2K and then stretching them. -DirecTV Ready: Using the DirecTV remote to control the volume, behaves erratically. Quite often it will only go up (louder) even when you want to go down. I end up having to grab the TV/Stereo remote some times to adjust the volume. NOTE: My set has no "Bending" at all as commented about from some reviews. I suspect the bending is all related to how it was unboxed/mounted. I can easily see if it was mishandled how that would occur as it is a very thin set.
