Horrible quality and lack of Sony Support

This is my second go at Sony. It all started with a 850B which took me on a one year journey through numerous Sony support levels. Once finally replaced I decided to give Sony another try. The TV image is amazing for the price but the quality is very poor. Below is a list of why I can't recommend: 1- bend gate: remember the IPhone bending because of how thin it was and the lack of good materials? It happens on this TV. Some have low bend which prob won't influence much with the image but with my experience with Sony, return right away. 2-Bad design- Sony went out of their way to make a beautiful tv, slim, low profile capable and with a power brick. You cannot do a low, flush mount because the brick gets in the way and you cannot run the wire through the wall because is not rated for it. Makes no sense. 3- 3D cross talk- you might as well through your 3D disc away. The cross talk is unacceptable. Half the time you wonder if your glasses are even on because is just as bad with the glasses than without them. Sony shoves this on poor content or equipment (PS: I used Sony player with Sony Movie, guess they make poor content and equipment). https://community.sony.com/t5/4K-Ultra-HD-TV/XBR-65X930D-faulty-3D/td-p/565811 4- Sony Support- you might as well through the warranty good bye, no support as Sony will always point fingers to everything but their TVs and claim they are working according to standards. 5-I can keep going on. I give five for picture quality but everything else is a 1, cannot recommend this TV until Sony really begins to work on quality improvement and customer support.

i waited over an month before writing a product review. i have not been disappointed. the color is vivid, and lively. the picture color brightens the whole room. this is my first sony tv. what took me so long it's a keeper! i also have to give my geek (anselin and company) guy his prompts. they did a great job of installing and answering my many questions.

I like this unit a lot and have not been disappointed since my purchase. The only TV that I looked at that was better were the OLED units which has an amazing picture, but not significantly different that the 930 I purchased. You would really have to see both TV's side by side to see the difference. The XBR65X930 was half of the cost of the OLED units.

Did a lot of research on 4K TV's to put in the basement. After reading numerous reviews and comparing TV's in the store, this TV offered everything we were looking for and more. Picture is amazing and black levels look great in the basement. Would highly recommend this television.

Picture Quality has been excellent to watch movies and sports. The remote control is the worst I have ever seen. The buttons are extremely small and not ergonomically designed. Multiple Buttons are not needed. To change picture mode you have to go to settings, which is something that would have been useful on the remote ro have hot buttons for.

Rave reviews from Best Buy staff convinced me that this was the upgrade for me. I previously had the 52" XBR and wanted the larger picture. Geek Squad did the installation and had to come back two times to rectify issues with the remote and programming. Hope that is behind us and we can begin enjoying the new Sony.

This is by far the best TV out there. AndroidTV is way better than ROKU. Sony Motion processing is the best. Better than LG OLED. This TV is super thin. No bending. Folks who report that must be Apple fanboys. The color depth on this tv is so customizable. You can tune this TV to what suits you best, you can oversaturate colors to look like a samsung, but also can tweak it back to look more natural. This Tv doesn't get too hot either. I originally was going to get the Vizio but it didn't capture speed and i got dizzy on a bigger screen. if you have the money go for the 75 inch, this tv is so clear it feels so real that you dont get nauseous on other big screens. I don't see much clouding as other have express. I had clouding on the 900C and opted to spend the extra money for this tv. Upscaling is amazing on this TV. Originally i was sourcing all my media in 4k. but... the upscaling is so good I can't even tell so i feed 1080p or 1080i through this TV and i'm extremely happy with results. Only con is there is an AC adapter brick that comes with the plug. Now, i just hope this TV lasts me for at least the next 10 years. Thank you Best Buy of Signal Hills.

After adjusting all the settings and a firmware update this tv is a giant step up from my previous one. On first turning it on it wanted an internet connection to do updates before anything else. The default firmware did not have a drop down menu for entering characters that do not appear on the factory remote. Luckily the USB ports were active and a Bluetooth receiver for my computer keyboard was plug and play so that I could just type in the wireless password. Once through the basic agreements and update we could use it. The factory settings were less than impressive and several features were turned off. I spent a couple hours adjusting picture parameters to my liking and it is downright impressive now. It has a setting for primary sound that is defaulted to tv speakers. In this mode the optical output only sends a 2 channel signal to the receiver. Change this to external speakers to get all the audio channels on the optical signal. The 3D operation is very good for 3D blurays with the required active glasses. I have not tried the multi view function yet (separated 2D views for two players wearing 3D glasses).

Bought this 4K tv to replace my aging 60" LED. What a difference! Upscaling is really incredible and coupled with my Samsung 4k blu-ray player makes movies almost jump out at you! Only drawback is that the TV menu is clunky and a little difficult to navigate but the picture quality far outweighs that minor glitch!

The size, quality, resolution, ease of use are all 5 star for this product. My main complaint is with the Android operating system running the Smart TV features. Several times a week I must power cycle the TV to make it work better. I hope an update comes soon to correct this fully

Great TV. It replaced a 12 year old 50 inch plasma set. Nothing really wrong with the old set, but we wanted the 4K picture, deeper brighter colors, 65 inches and "smart" features. Could not be happier with our choice. TV is in a room with windows on three sides, needed a set with a bright icture that would not be washed out during the day, this Sony does it. Cross shopped the similar sized and featured Samsung. Selected the Sony because we thought the color was just a bit brighter and we liked the black bezel around the picture. I like the separate splayed legs on the Samsung better, but I guess we had to compromise on something. Also bought the Bose 300 sound bar at the same time. Great combination together. Connected via HDMI ARC cable. The two sync just fine and we operate both with the Bose remote. Only problem was that when sitting on the cabinet, the sound bar partially blocked the remote sensor on the TV. I cut a piece of 1/4" Masonite the size of the TV base to raise the TV and it solved the problem (I think the sound bar would have just fit under the Samsung).

I did a lot of reading before buying this Sony. The market is very competitive. Samsung makes a tremendous box if you prefer the brightness over the vivid colors of the Sony. My Sony provides me better colors and it is bright enough. Looking forward to the Football season. That will be the most important test. This TV is not perfect but for under 3K it is right up there with all the others in that category. You will have to change the picture settings on the TV, the manufacturer's defaults do not provide you with the optimal picture so definitely play with the adjustments. If you want to spend more then there are better...I researched all of them. If your budget is between 2-3K then this is the one go with. The blacks are great not as good as the old Plasma's and OLED but definitely passes with high grades. The one beef I did have was...all the Best Buys had it on display making it's own unique loop of videos, it should be showing live feeds like all the other boxes so we can compare. It made be suspect on why!!! Not to worry, it is an awesome TV.

Purchased this TV to replace a 3-year old plasma. I was ready for 4k gaming to be in my life and the sale price was very tempting. I was a bit hesitant at first about going LED since in the past I've never really connected with the picture quality of an LED. This TV made me a believer! The picture quality is incredible! Even for edge lit and for all the things the TV's that cost twice as much have that it doesn't it performs very well for day to day use. I'm one of those people that obsesses about and gets "fear of missing out" when it comes to technology features. (full array, OLED, X1 mega pro engine, realtime light balance ambient color balance technology...yes I made that up but you get the idea). I had my finger on the button for the model's that are twice as much (or more). I kept coming back to this one because it was so reasonably priced. It passed the eye test in store but it really made all the difference getting it setup in the house. Plenty has been written on the picture quality so I will skip that stuff...its all true, the TV looks fantastic in all settings (1080p, 4K, HDR). All look special. Some great things about this TV you might not notice before buying: -Its beautiful...the bezel is 0.5" all around and it sells the idea of it being a framed piece of art -Its VERY thin. I realize all the TVs are pretty thin these days but it was noticeable when mounting. You can aim for a very flush wall mount with this TV -Cable management is great on this unit. There are little plastic pieces on the back that you can run cables through to get them organized. There are also plastic covers for different zones of the TV to hide all the cables. The middle cover piece isn't super useful if you want mount because the mount bars restrict access. It doesn't affect where you can run the cables though. -There is a Live Football Mode feature on this TV that works fantastic for NFL and the "other" football (Premier League). Both staples in this house and one of the primary reasons I've be reluctant to take the LED jump. -Its very easy to change picture modes on the fly and for the first time it makes a lot of sense to do it for different sources. On most TVs I've had its always buried deep in some menus or you just tune one mode and commit to it for all sources. Not the case here...I've spent some time tuning 4-5 different modes for different sources and they have per HDMI settings as well as per mode settings. There's an auto mode feature as well that works pretty well. I've trust this TV more than others in the past to pick picture settings for me. Modes can be changed on a simple "top level" menu accessed by a button on the remote. -This is the first TV I've used the IR blaster on and used to control a Time Warner Cable box. It was able to download the guide for my area and have had great success with using the guide on the TV instead of the cable box. The guide interface on the TV is much nicer and easy to read. There's a lot more detail presented about shows and feels like a proper cable upgrade even though its the same content. -Input lag is FINE! Don't listen to the cry babies out there. Somethings about this TV that aren't great but weren't deal breakers for me: -The remote is terrible! Its really really bad. No button lighting and poorly designed layout. -The TV is bent...its a known issue with these models. There is the slightest bend which you can only really see with a closed eye looking over the top of it. Doesn't bother me but might others. -The Android/TV interface is really bad as well. Is there such thing as a good Smart TV interface? I've never seen one. You just work around it. Its easy to get to the standard apps (Netflix, HULU, etc) but overall as a user experience its quite poor. -ARC doesn't work and the idea of ARC is a pipe dream to me. I had to use a toslink from the TV to the A/V receiver which I dont care for but honestly get off my lawn kids! -IR blasting for my A/V receiver wasn't great at all either. Using the volume on the remote changed the volume on the TV (even though the output was set to external speakers) and changed the volume on my receiver at the same time. Felt horrible and didn't last a day doing it. Using a different remote for volume isn't great. Even the lame cable box remote can figure it out. -The screen is VERY glossy. That means mega reflections from direct light and fingerprints! For a darker room with wall mounting this isn't a big issue for but its noticeable so I thought I would point it out. Overall this is a great value for your money. Its beautiful on the outside and on the inside. Picture quality is amazing...4K gaming is amazing...4K HDR blu-ray is amazing. All for around $2000. -1 star for all the stuff I mentioned (mostly the remote!).

We wanted a slim tv to mount above our fireplace . We fell in love with the style and vibrant picture at the store. When we first saw the picture, we were so disapppointed. We couldn't believe we paid this much money to get a lousy picture . Read on the internet you need to adjust the settings. For the next few days I was SO frustrated and could not get the picture to look like at the store . My husband wanted to return it if I couldn't figure it out . I called Sony customer service- they were a waste of my time . Look at you tube videos it did help a bit , but no avail . Finally after 3 days I finally figured it out and wow It's amazing. We love it . My advise is to play around with the settings it may take a few days- but the wait is worth it !!

Easy to setup. Good cable management built into the back. I have Sony components connected with sound bar, blu-ray player and PS4. No problems switching between any components and the TV recognizes the components. Sound is not the best so a sound bar is good to have. Picture is really good with HD cable and amazing when using blu-ray player that has 4K up scaling ability or PS4 Pro that has 4K ability. I have not used many apps yet. The apps navigate well but there is an occasional slowness or hesitation. Still a positive experience with the many options of apps available. Used in basement with windows so there is fair amount of light. No problems with glare or light. Viewing at night is equally good with lights off. Colors, black and whites are good. I am not a viewer that have to update every picture setting for the best configuration. I have minimal changes saved for cable TV, movie and sports viewing. Good quality product for the money.

After much research I was so excited to finally make the decision to buy the 65" 930 D. The one thing I want to let you know that the delivery team was great, however, after unpacking we found that the front of the TV had a crack in the frame and the screen itself. After several phone calls, Best Buy arranged delivery of a new set. I decided to see if the TV would work and to my delight it started up perfectly, even cracked. When the new set arrived, I was amazed at how great picture really was without a crack in the screen. What you want to know about this set is: Picture is great, a little bloated with functions you will probably never use. The most important: Get a Sony sound bar to enhance your TV enjoyment. Great TV, and great Best Buy Service after the sale.
