Best TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best TV I have ever owned. My wife lets me get a new TV every 12-15 years and I knew I needed to make it count. Did lots of research and honed in on this A8H Sony OLED. The picture is mesmerizing. Blacks are black, colors viberant and super clear. This TV should suffice for until I get my next TV in 12-15 years.

Sony 65" Class A8H OLED 4K UHD Smart Android TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is easy to use. The Geek squad set it up. The picture is great and I could acces YouTube, Netflix etc directly. I need to use Roku to access Spectrum and that only works because it an old Roku. New Rokus dont allow that. I might have to get Ape tv to access Spectrum later. This is my one concern.

SONY XBR guy since the beginning!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just Awesome! I used to be a ONLY SONY TV guy! My first flat screen was a 55" LED Samsung from Magnolia. Great TV. Than I switched to LG 55" OLED one flat and one curved. LG OLED was the best and only OLED at the time. I saw Sony started OLED and I checked it out at the Best Buy Magnolia. I loved the picture and the Android OS built into it when demo'd for me. I waited for the big Black friday sales and bought the 65" A8H. WOW! I had it on next to my old Samsung. What a great picture! In a very bright run in the day time still looks good. I am back to being a SONY TV guy again! You can't go wrong with SONY XBR name on it! ONE Issue with sound when I first set it up. It took me weeks to figure it out. the Sound on different streaming services would just not work! And others would work. IT WAS the ANDROID OS! I had to uninstall and reinstall all Android software and updates! Now all Streaming service audio has been working great! (Until the next update from Android-Haha) Love the TV. I Would highly recommend the 65" SONY A8H XBR! You won't be disappointed.

OLED is worth the money! Wow!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv to replace an older Sony LCD. Incredible picture and the setup was unbelievably easy! Tough choice between this and the comparable LG I do not think you could go wrong with either. The salesman was really a great help, and did not try to "sell" me as much as help me make an informed choice.

The best
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best TV's out there. The color is great, the picture quality is crisp. The blacks are a deep black. When you are navigating the menu, it feels like you are operating a huge iphone. The OLED quality is that good. The TV is simply beautiful. No other words describe it.

Pulled the trigger! Haven’t stopped smiling since!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What is there to say? Simply amazing. I do consider myself a cinephile and audiophile. I debated for months between which tv I would get for our living room. Finally narrowed it down to the Sony and LG CX. In the end, I wouldn’t be using this tv for any gaming so the choice was obvious. Except for the fact that it has a very premium price tag. I was starting to accept that I would just bite the bullet because of the quality and then saw the price drop to an unbelievable deal that made it a no brainer. Picture quality is beyond amazing. It will be dimmer than every other lcd so if you like a bright picture, consider the 950h. To be honest, after calibrating and adjusting the settings, the picture quality beats anything else out there and brightness is a non issue. But that will vary based on where you decide to place it. I have a fairly bright living room in the day time but nothing besides our couch and living room wall directly in front of the tv. The Sony gets plenty bright. Long story short, beyond amazing! You get what you pay for!! No regrets.

If you can afford it, get it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a TV! I have this Sony OLED setup in my living room which has windows flanking it on the side and ceiling lights on the opposite side in the adjacent hallway. Initially I was worried that the OLED wouldn't be bright enough for the room, but it's seriously not an issue. I had a Samsung 50" LED TV from 2012 in this same space before and the Sony is much brighter. Setup of the TV went easy enough. Unbox it with at least one other willing participant. After plugging it in you'll be greeted with a quite long and tedious setup process, but it's very easy. Just keep agreeing to all the data collection activities that Sony and Google will be doing and you will be at the Android TV home screen in about 10 minutes. Now I recently purchased the Vizio P659-G1, a 65" full array local dimming LED TV, and it is quite the difference in smoothness of the image displayed on the TVs. The Vizio is great, don't get me wrong, but the FALD LED zones become painfully obvious after you've experienced the OLED. Movies must be watched on the Sony in my house now.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent picture that is crisp and clear especially in the dark with soft ambient lighting. Brightness is also more than sufficient to provide clarity during bright daylight hours. There is some reflection off screen but even this is not very distracting from the awesome picture. A winner: Sony 65 A8H Model:XBR65A8H SKU:6401203
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of Research, the OLED vs QLED. Oled, picture wins. QLED is brighter but sacrifices quality. both different technologies. OLED cost more so I stayed that the 65-inch size. 75-inch became cost-prohibitive. For me, 65 is just right. I owned the QLED 65-inch but decided to "move up" and get the OLED. Angle viewing, color details. Then once I knew OLED was right for me, the next consideration was the operating system. Here Android wins hands down. So, that kicked out the LG. Why Andriod, well it's proven built right, has more capabilities and more apps. User more in control. I also thought, looking side by side with LG that Sony won out in the picture quality. Keep in mind Sony did cost more than the LG, but then you get a "Sony". You do get what you paid for.

Sony XBR65A8H - Gorgeous Picture and Decent Sound
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sony has been superb for the first two weeks. The only issue was with something that got garbled in the setup, causing the apps to malfunction after the first few days. A factory reset (advised by the in-store Geek) followed by fresh setup has resulted in a smooth running and beautiful TV. We're especially impressed with the built-in sound for day to day viewing, and we use a vintage (2000) Denon AVR Tuner/Amplifier when viewing movies or listening to YouTube music. It's connected to the digital optical-out jack on the TV and faithfully decodes Dolby in its various forms. You may want to consider a sound bar for home theater style viewing if you don't have a tuner/amp. The picture is nothing less than stunning when we find 4K to feed it! 1080p/60 is reliably up-converted from the usual sources. I recommend new 4K ready HDMI cables for your components and a decent wall mount (we picked Rocketfish items for both). This is an Android TV, but the learning curve is not bad. We can't recommend this TV more highly.

Great TV picture, needs a strong wi/fi or ethernet
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 65" OLED 4K UHD tv simply has the best picture I have ever had on a TV and we have 9 TVs in our house. The viewing angle is the widest of any TV we have had. The only caveat I would give a prospective buyer is that it needs a strong wifi/ethernet connection to work. We have an Orbi router and extender and with the extender 20' above the tv, we could not get a reliable connection directly or via a roku. I moved the extender down to the same floor about 10 feet away and we were able to get a connection with occasional buffering. Then I moved the Orbi extender back upstairs so the tv's upstairs could get a signal and plugged in a long ethernet cable to the Orbi dropping it down to the roku. The connection is now perfect and no buffering. I am replacing our Orbi router and extender with an Orbi4200 3 unit mesh system. Our house and back deck is about 4500 sq feet and the newer mesh system should handle the TVs and computers easily. I could probably do it with the Orbi 2 unit mesh system, but would prefer the overkill.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful picture quality. The ease and snappiness of this tv is fantastic. I love the settings and it’s very easy to use, great pro tip: to enable 10 bit color (HDR) it’s under “watch tv” setting. It is not under picture quality, which I found odd but it’s the only feature that is poorly located.

Great for us! Sony 65" A8H Series OLED 4K UHD TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now fully retired with more time for viewing quality TV and movies available today, we rewarded ourselves with a far larger screen to better enjoy them. This unit clearly presented the best image of the dozens on display at the store, and the recent $1,000 price reduction clinched the deal for us. We set it in position promptly to get acquainted with our new well-featured equipment while awaiting the arrival and installation of the new sturdy wall mount through our existing undersized custom entertainment cabinet which is now completely concealed and cosmetically pleasing. This sequence also gave us opportunity to plan the exact placement of the mount, cabling, and individual video and audio accessories. Now weeks later, we are still making adjustments to hardware, software, and video services for our system to take full advantage of capabilities never available to us before. As we learn more, I'm confident that our great satisfaction with our purchase will continue to increase for years to come.

Blacks are super black and clarity of picture is excellent. Still getting used to Android as all previous experience is with Apple. Delivery crew was awesome! Product representative was knowledgeable and very helpful in sorting out which tv was best for our application. The unique part of this tv is that the sound comes directly from the screen; lacks a little on bass, but otherwise excellent, so we see no need for a sound bar!

Best OLED TV of 2020
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched OLED TV’s for six months before I finally decided on the Sony A8H 65” OLED. I watch a lot of movies and I am also an avid gamer (PS4 and Xbox One). I got down to this Sony and the LG CX 10 as my two choices. The LG is better for gaming (refresh rate and HDMI 2.1) but the Sony is better for a crisper more vibrant color. I watch more cinema than I play games, I tested both sets and the Sony had a better picture, color and build quality. The LG is way too flimsy (you can actually bend the screen) and has a higher tendency for BURN IN which is NOT covered in the manufacture warranty. The Sony was a little more expensive but well worth the extra dollars. I have a Sony Bravia 55” LED 4K HDTV HDR that is 5 years old and still works as well as the day I took it out of the box (I moved it to my spare bedroom). Best Buy made the purchase simple and easy, I even set it up myself with no issues (you need two people though). The best picture of any TV I have ever owned, VERY HAPPY!

Great picture quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant about going with the A8H over the CX because of the lack of HDMI 2.1. I don't game a lot, so it may not matter much in the long run. This TV looks great when watching movies and TV shows in 4K. I made some minor changes to the settings based on Rtings recommendations but the picture quality looks great out of the box. I've been streaming 4K content from Netflix and Prime Video but plan on picking up a Panasonic 4K Blu-ray player and some 4K Blu-rays to go with it. I'm using a Sonos Arc soundbar connected via eArc with passthrough turned on. Everything works great with the TV, I just wish Sonos would support DTS. My only complaint would be the Android TV OS that seems to be really buggy but usually a restart fixes any issues. I'm going to pickup an Nvidia Shield Pro (or an Apple TV if they ever decide to support lossless audio) and see if it works better. Netflix Calibrated Mode is only available in the native Netflix app but it seems like more of a gimmick than anything.
