I bought ths model for the first time last year & had it in my living room. Then I bought a second one & put the newest one in my living room & moved the one I bought last year from the living room to my bedroom. I then had the installers put the 48 inch Sony TV that I had in my bedroom in between my kitchen & dining areas. I always buy Sony TVs as I am old school - Sony was & still is, in my opinion, the best. Also - my background is film & film & tv studios always use Sony as their Gold standard for quality production. Lastly, Best Buy always has the latest selection of state of the art tvs as well as othr products at the best prices. Why would you go anywhere else? I rest my case for Sony & Best Buy!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Typically when you see a store display sample they tend to look better than what it would be at home, since manufacturers enhance the demo clips to make it even more enticing for the customer to buy but this is not the case. At the store this looked amazing, so I bought it thinking it will be a little less definition etc but I was completely wrong! This tv is absolutely amazing in quality and it's features are top notch. I am an F1 fan and watching the race is 4K with this is just the same as being at the circuit watching the race live. I paired this with a full Bose 700 set up and this is just a complete game changer. The panel is super slim, if it's wall mounted it will make any living room look very modern.

Looked at tons of reviews on which one I would purchase. Looked at the LG Cx but when I play games it’s always on my PC. So I wanted a tv that was more suited for cinematic purposes. The Sony A8H hits that point dead on. The display is absolutely amazing. Coming from a 2016 Samsung KS8000 65in. I wanted something that supported Dolby Atmos and had an amazing picture. This tv is the one. The image is stunning with the deep blacks and vivid colors. Dolby Vision and Atmos is also supported from my Apple TV 4K. If I had to choose again on which tv to get I would not think twice when it come to this one. With 1000 off It’s a purchase that I am more than happy with.

Watching Avengers Infinity War in 4K, the picture look smoother and clear than at the theater premiere. My only problem was the lack of HDMI 2.1 support. With the PS5 coming soon, it was a required feature to get the most out of my new system. I swapped out for the LG CX, and even playing a standard PS4, the gameplay was smoother and has a quick response time. If your just looking for movies and shows from Netflix and Disney+ etc, you can’t do better than the A8H. Still a 5/5. Games still look good, just not the best they could.

Upscaling of Directv programing is amazing and 4k blue rays are incredible with this TV . Easy to set up. Not a gamer so the 2.1 HDMI is not an issue for me. you will not be disappointed with this TV

Great TV, Poor Manuals

However, I could not give it five stars due to the poor manuals provided and the inability to control other devices. After hanging it on the wall mounting bracket, I realized I should have photographed all the ports on the back. The manuals did not have a picture and none of the online resources did either. I had to guess which HDMI port had ARC through trial and error. I spent nearly an entire day trying different settings, to see if it would control the DVR or change inputs on my Sony receiver when switching between streaming and the cable box. I had hoped I would get lucky this time and be able to control the most frequent viewing options with a single remote. A lengthy call to off shore support ended with they can't control some third party devices. While I can control the volume of the Sony receiver, every time I switch between cable and streaming I have to either drill down three levels in a menu or grab the third remote.

It had the greatest picture I've seen, either HD or 4K. This Sony, equaled or topped the LG. Simply awesome TV. An having android on it, is a plus, though technically with the new Google Chromcast, I don't need it built in on the TV, but its a convenience. I wish they had the latest Android rather than Android 9.0 as it has some bugs, e.g. when the TV is turned on, sometimes the WiFi doesn't connect and you either have to force it to connect or restart the TV system. Happens multiple times. Remote is a non-click remote, which is a plus in my book, though the arrows circle key could have been made a bit larger. And to top that, I got a great deal on that TV on Prime day BestBuy matching price.

First of all, the picture is perfect, no lagging refresh rate, perfect color out of the box. I have a sound bar with a center channel (that is the more expensive sound bar as you know). Considering not hooking up the sound bar, the sound is that good. Now for movie night, I do have an older Yamaha Amp with sound surround speakers, tower speakers, and a woofer. Out of the box, all connected well. Shocked. Then, do have the SONY 4K DVD player and play 4K DVD's, and stream from that as well. Over all very pleased. The TV does have streaming as well, will look at that next, but so far a great experience!

Finally got my SONY OLED.

Picture quality is one of the best I have ever seen. Love the Android /Google OS, lots of selections of apps and easy to use. Sound is also great for such a thin TV. The only down side is no HDMI 2.1 but I can over look like that as we don't play games on it that much. PS5 Still look great on it even without the HDMI 2.1. I would even pay for this TV at MSRP is that good. Can't beat Sony for the Video, sound and build quality. Sony has always been more expensive than other brand and there is a reason why people will still pay for it. You pay for what you get.

A Great TV (and remote).

The remote is simple to use and has completely replaced all the remotes that used to litter my coffee table. The remote works great with my AT&T UVerse cable box and my Panasonic DVD player. The TV is great. The picture is gorgeous. The apps seem to work well and since a recent software update AirPlay works great with my Apple computers. I only had one installation issue. This TV was an upgrade from a previous TV. I failed to upgrade my HDMI cables and this caused issues. Once I upgraded the cables to 4K cables, everything worked flawlessly. This was a good purchase for our family. Highly recommended.
