My main complaint is that, betweeen my samsung and sony, the android system doesnt seem to support the Directv platform, which is how i stream my cable.

We went with the Sony" -XBR65A8H - OLED HDR and WOW what a difference. Picture and sound are the best ever. The remote to get on streaming options is so much easier to use, than any other we have had. Hit home, make your choice, done watching? Hit TV, that's it, simple, efficient and fast. We are very very pleased. Sony is not from China !

Great oled tv

The picture quality really is striking. Sony’s image processing is the best in the business and the Android tv platform is mostly fine now; a couple of small bugs here and there but it mostly works well and is very fast. The integrated sound is not as good as an external sound bar of course, but it’s a lot better than most TVs and sometimes I don’t even bother using my sound bar. It’s pricey but it’s miles ahead of any other tv I’ve ever owned.

Spectacular Picture

At first, I used the built in Sony apps to get content. However, I am an AT&T TV subscriber, and that app is NOT available in the Google Play App store for Android televisions (it IS for Android tablets!). So, I purchased an Amazon Fire Cube which does have that app. I am still working on getting the TV and Cube to play nicely together. I cannot speak to the sound quality, as I have this TV hooked up to my receiver and external speakers.

The 55" was excellent, but I needed something bigger. I am so happy with this A8H OLED. This picture is fantastic! The sound thru the screen is fantastic! And since it's a 2020 closeout, the price was fantastic too! My only concern is the potential of OLED burn-in, but I try not to leave on any channels with logos (like CNN). Hopefully, it will last for years.

Sony replacement of LG

The picture quality is great and colors are vivid. This is a replacement for an LG OLED that was 18 mos old that just quit. After nearly 2 months and back and forth, the Manager at Best Buy came through and helped us get things taken care of. The process that Best Buy uses to fix or replace warrantied products is slow and inefficient, 4 separate visits to try replacement parts including the screen. Glad we had paid for the warranty!

I've had some glitches with it and I've been on the phone with support on 5 different occasions now with no resolution. 1) The TV keeps jumping back to Vivid mode. There is no way to turn that off. I switch to any other profile and it switches back in a few minutes. 2) Watching movies/TV, every 20-30 minutes or so, when the scene gets very bright (like lots of whites, etc), the TV dims briefly like it looks like it lost power. This seems to be a defect in the TV and is what Support is trying to help with but haven't so far. for the price and knowing what I know now, I'd probably pick an LG B9 or C9, but I opted for the flagship Bravia on black friday sale. So far, I'm still on the fence if I return the TV or not.

If the Picture Mode of an Android TV automatically switches to vivid, please follow the troubleshooting steps on this link to resolve the issue:

And with regards to the bright scenes that gets dim, set the following settings:
Under the Brightness tab
Brightness = Max
Contrast = Max
Gamma = 0 (Set to 1 if mid-level brightness is still low)
Black level = 50
Black adjust = Medium
Adv. contrast enhancer = Medium (Set it to Low if you want more black details)
Auto local dimming = Medium
Under the Color tab
Color = 60
Color temperature = Neutral
Live Color = Medium

Stunning Picture

It was worth every penny. I will add that you do not ever need to hook this up to the internet directly to watch streaming tv. I use my Apple TV and everything goes through it. There is an App for everything. And you then control your data and who can access it. The Geek Squad did an EXCELLENT job it setting it all up. they hooked everything up for me and explained how to use it all. Excellent work Geek Squad.

I replaced my 55" Panasonic Plazma which was 13 years old. What a surprise to see such vivid colors with this TV. even in bright daylight the colors came through at every viewing angle. Also the native sound from the TV was also very good....the surprise there was regardless of the background music or effects, the voices came through crisp and clear. In short I would recommend this TV for anyone who enjoys movies and music concerts.

Netlifix, Hulu and all streaming services look AMAZING even if its a older movie. Its also good if you're a occasional gamer. But if you're a serious gamer definitely check out the LG. Its also worth mentioning the design. Its just a sexy looking tv man. It looks amazing in my room even turned off. I can't wait to mount it! I got it on sale for 2k and so should you my friend. worth it worth it worth it
