This TV continues that tradition. The picture is great. Used a wall mount system that permitted mounting in the corner of the room. Mounted at 60 inches to the center line of screen. Works well with either my cable or internet input. Very happy with purchase, especially since it was on sale.

I am not a gamer so wanted the best picture quality. I had previously had a Sony Bravia which was excellent for over 10 years And still using in another room. I love the picture quality that this TV can put out. HDR content looks great (with the exception of Dolby Vision). The sound is great. The blacks are black. Good TV. I feel the cons do outweigh the pros... Dolby Vision content seems to have some issues. It is darker than HDR10 content (should be the other way around), and exhibits posterization and microblocking (looks like digital blocks on screen during darker scenes). I believe this is due to the version of Dolby Vision Sony implements on their TVs (low latency version). Other TVs I've had in the past that support Dolby Vision have "TV Led Dolby Vision" where the TV does the tone mapping/decoding. But with Sony's low latency version, the player itself does the tone mapping and decoding (which is where I believe the problems occur). Rather than the TV decoding/tone mapping the signal, the player does the heavy lifting. The other problem I've experienced with this TV (and Sony in general) is with pixels. My first Sony TV (65 inch X950H) had well over 20 dead pixels within the first 2 weeks of ownership. Now with this Sony OLED 65 inch A8H, I also have dead pixels showing up (only owned this TV for 3 weeks now). I returned the X950H and went with the OLED thinking that it would be of much higher quality and I wouldn't have that issue, but I was wrong to think that. The A8H has 9 that I have counted so far. I've never had this problem on any TV I've owned up until these 2 Sony TVs. I don't know why this would show up so early other than defects in production. I understand that it could happen after a lot of usage, but should not happen after only a few weeks. Again, I find it very strange that the two TVs I've experienced this on share the same processor, same brand and the same size.. I have considered exchanging it for a new one, but can't help but think that the new one will also have the same problem. I'm 2 for 2 so far with Sony, so I'm nervous to get another one. I'm considering returning the TV and getting an LG, but still doing research on those to see if they have similar problems (both brands use LG OLED panels). Sorry for the long post, I just feel that people should know about the problems others experience with these TVs (since most professional reviews only praise the technology). Please Sony, figure out what is causing the Dolby Vision problems and the dead pixels on your panels. I have a hard time believing I got 2 bad TVs in a row (Same brand, different tech).

One of the best ways to isolate and hopefully resolve these issues is by updating the firmware of the TV. This set weighs half as much and has a perfect picture. My only concern is that when using the built in apps the sound feeding (via ARC) to my Pioneer Elite receiver cuts out completely. I have played around with the settings on both devices to no avail. It has never happened when using a streaming device such as Roku or Tivo.

Even though the screen is larger on this set than our previous TV, the screen goes all the way to the edge, so it looks like it is almost the same size as the previous TV on the wall, but the colors and picture are exceptionally clear from any point in the room. The side views of our previous screen were somewhat distorted.

Long time ago I sold TV's and with my research into this tv I knew I would be pleased. The black level makes ALL the difference in the world. It makes the colors POP! You can't go wrong with this set. If you install surround sound, the model up will become the center channel for you. I did not think that feature was worth an additional $500.
