Bad audio, good picture

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Sony over the LG series because Sony seemed to have more detail (especially in darker scenes). To make this short, do NOT buy this if you are interested in using ARC/eARC with Dolby Digital Plus! There is a known bug (verified by contacting Sony tech support) that causes Dolby Digital Plus audio to have random dropouts on ANY app you use (I'm not sure if this occurs with other devices connected to the TV, i.e. bluray players, gaming systems. And if the app you're using has DTS passthrough, it's unaffected as well). Netflix, youtube and others all have this issue. Sony says a fix is coming, but after reading on many many forums, this bug isn't limited to this specific model. After having the TV for 2 days and getting everything setup just the way I wanted it, Sony tech support has me do a factory reset (which doesn't fix it). Their work around was to disable DD, DD+ set everything to PCM, turn off eARC and a few other things, then told me to factory reset it again if it occurs. Really? No ETA of a fix. I gave it 2 stars because at least the picture quality is good. But to have a brand new TV and not be able to enjoy the audio capabilities of the apps almost just makes it an expensive computer monitor. By the way, I enabled Dolby Digital only for audio output, and no drops, so at least I have 5.1, just not the full capabilities of DD+
