The color and contrast of 4k video is nothing short of incredible and even lesser quality resolutions look amazing. The sound is well enough, but a separate sound system is impossible to beat. Streaming apps such as YouTubeTV and Prime Video run better than they did on our 4k Fire Stick, which now we don't need to use.

I really like this tv. My roommate got the LG Cx and they are very similar. I like the built in acoustic audio setting. I love android tv. Casting just about anything is nice. Turning off and pausing with alexa is nice, too. I'm happy. I hear this tv is better at dealing with burn in than LGs but hey we'll see.

Looks gorgeous mounted on my wall! Super thin bezels and side profile, OLED infinite contrast ratio leads to amazing depth, and the app interface is very user friendly. The sound could be better as far as volume, but the speakers being integrated into the screen leads to a more immersive experience.

Choosing a TV in this day and age can be an aggravating process. Every single product out there comes with Pros and cons. The pros Sony a8h OLED vastly outweigh its cons, making it hands down the best TV on the market. I consider myself a video enthusiast and when making a purchase, picture quality is the number one attribute I am looking for. The a8h was way out of my price range at the time when I first started to look for a new TV set to replace my dying old one. I first looked at the q90t at the store, but I noticed horrible uniformity issues. They had a hockey game demo and it looked atrocious, full of vertical banding and blotches on the screen while the camera was panning around the hockey rink. Then I looked at the Sony x950h. The color was nice and natural, much better than the Samsung, but contrast just was not there. Thats when I decided to go with the LG CX oled which was priced alot lower than the Sony oled. Overall the LG was excellent, but the dark details were way too dark. I dialed in the settings and the only way I could get the dark details to show was to wash out the colors a little bit. a couple days later, the sony a8h went on sale so I exchanged my cx for the sony and that was the best decision ever. The Sony is just a truly magnificent display. I was worried at first that its going to be dim, based on feedback I got in the comment sections of some youtube channels and forums, but as soon as I hooked up this bad boy, my jaw dropped. Don't listen to the haters. The perceived brightness and overall pop and depth that comes from the superb contrast and color volume and video processing will literally leave you in awe. Upscaled cable tv is second to none on this tv set. The x1 ultimate chipset that is in this tv makes sports buttery smooth and fluid. HDR material is spectacular. The specular highlights give the image a level of depth and pop that words cannot describe. Dolby Vision is VASTLY improved over older sony models that were too dim when watching certain dolby content. I can now say that Dolby Vision looks amazing when using "dolby vision bright" mode. The UI i much improved over the older versions of android that were slow and buggy. I love the quick menu button on the remote. It makes it so easy to go in and adjust your picture modes and settings and its customizable and you can get to your favorite settings options really quick. No tv is perfect though and the only issues you may run into with this tv is like any oled, if you are in a super bright room with big windows on a sunny day, the reflections may be a little distracting. If you are in that kind of environment you may want to consider a top tier LED display, but keep in mind you are going to be getting noticeable inferior picture picture quality with any led compared to this oled. Another con is its earc is a little buggy when using with certain devices such as my cable box, but there are workarounds. The remote control buttons are very mushy. I actually bought a remote for the a9g that works with this tv from ebay and works great and much easier to use than the remote that comes with this tv. Overall, especially at the current Black Friday price, it is a steal and a half! I love it so much, i bought a second one for my other room. Guys don't sleep on this. GRAB ONE NOW and I guarantee you will be amazed!

Pros: -FINALLY, a TV that runs Android TV well (my old Sony was so slow). -Servicable built-in audio -Greatly improved menus/interface over previous years. -It looks amazing even when it is turned off -Stand has two heights (so you can fit a sound bar in front) Cons: -No HDMI 2.1 (why?) -Remote isn't backlit (Stop being cheap, Sony) -Bravia Notifications (they pop up regularly and are obnoxious) -Reflective screen I'm not going to go on about the amazing contrast/colors/etc. It's an OLED, this is a given. What I will spend time on is how amazing this tv is with upscaling. It's actually really difficult to tell the difference between 1080 upscaled and a native 4k show (streamed, UHD disks are another story). The processor in this TV was previously reserved exclusively for Sony's flagship units (which they are still using), so it really doesn't get much better than this. Unlike previous years' models, this is the first that really runs Android TV as buttery smooth as LGs WebOS interface. It's still a bit obtuse for those who struggle with navigating technology, but I love Android TV for the wide range of features, flexibility and apps it has on offer. I have a two definitive technology tower speakers that I normally use, but at night I tend to switch to the TV audio to keep the noise level down. I am super impressed with the acoustic surface "speaker" that this tv has. It's light-years ahead of what most tv speakers sound like and actually provides a solid amount of stereo separation (right to left directionality) and enough clarity that I don't mind using it. [That said, please dont do yourself a disservice, get a mid range sound bar at least, your ears deserve good audio] Get this over the LG CX OLED if you care about picture quality above all else, get the LG if you want video game-centric features (g sync, HDMI 2.1). Absolutely do not buy this (or any OLED) if you plan on facing it towards a window. OLEDS have glass screens, they reflect everything. Either rearrange your room or go with an LCD model.

This is my first 4K TV. All I’ve ever owned are Sony’s because of their reliability and picture quality. My last Sony was 10 years old. I thought that was incredible. This new set makes me think my old set was in black and white. The colors this set produces is just incredible. I didn’t understand what people where talking about when they said it produces black, blacks. Well now I know. Truly spectacular. I watch cable TV on it and most of the channels look like 4K even though the signal is just HD. The upscaling is wonderful. When I watch Family Feud you can see the patterns in Steve Harvey’s suits and if someone has any lint you’ll see that. You can see every line and pore in a person’s face. I can’t wait for baseball to start up to see that. I can’t wait to see every blade of grass, the lines on the baseball when it spins. Every drop of rain during a rain delay. I have to say I bought expensive UHD HDMI cable’s to hook up the TV to the cable box so that helps. I would highly recommend the “Carbon HDMI”cable’s. They have 5% silver in them and that’s a very good conductor plus the cable takes noise out of the signal. I’ve watch just regular DVD’s on it and they looked great. I played them on the Sony 4K Blu Ray player. I watch old episodes of Roseanne and they look great. The TV cuts off the sides so the picture isn’t pulled to the edges. The TV is so smart it goes out of its way, does everything it can to make a high quality picture. I just watched my first 4K movie the other night, unfortunately, it was a very lame movie but I have to say the images were to die for, crystal clear, very life like, gorgeous. You can tell by seeing just about everyone giving it 5 stars you really can’t go wrong. Of course no one can please everyone, that’s impossible. I said it’s better then the 2019 Master Series because of the new features like X Motion Clarity and ambient light feature. The lighting of the set is perfect in my opinion. If you want it brighter you can adjust it to make it brighter. They make it very easy to adjust the set. Just a click away. When I watched fireworks on it I did put it on its vivid setting so the fireworks were on fire, they looked fantastic! Well this is getting long, you get the idea. Love is in the air! Buy it already!
