We are glad you are enjoying the 4K picture on your BRAVIA 8 II! To improve older standard definition content, we recommend going into the "Clarity" settings and ensuring "Reality Creation" is set to Auto or a manual level of about 20, which helps intelligently restore lost detail. You can also try setting "Random Noise Reduction" and "Digital Noise Reduction" to Low to smooth out graininess often found in older movies without losing the cinematic feel.
