Manufacturers may assign different code numbers in their universal remote controls to identify the Infrared (IR) signal of a Sony product. Thus, the code number used for operating a Sony product in one remote control may be different from that used by another.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Sony BRAVIA 8. The BRAVIA 8 has an outstanding reflection handling. This TV offers good viewing performance from the sides and exceptional picture quality. However, it sounds like the glare and brightness didn't meet your expectations, and there were some sync issues with the audio. It's understandable to expect a significant upgrade after almost a decade. Since you plan to stick with Sony, you might want to look into specific settings adjustments or possibly firmware updates that could address some of these concerns. To ensure optimal performance, we strongly recommend downloading and installing the latest software update for your TV.

Additionally, to achieve the best picture quality, we recommend not exposing the screen to direct illumination or sunlight and avoiding installing the TV in a room with reflective walls and floor materials. Using a brighter Picture Mode, like Vivid or Standard, will also help reduce reflection while watching TV or gaming. Only the following models features X-wide angle & X-anti reflection technologies: X93L, X95L, Z9K and BRAVIA 9 Google TV.

This issue often relates to specific picture settings designed to handle varying room light. We recommend checking the following:

Light Sensor: Ensure this setting is enabled in the picture settings to automatically optimize screen brightness for your bright room.

Picture Mode: Switch to a Custom or Cinema mode, as these often provide a more balanced starting point for HDR.

Gamma/Black Level: Try increasing the Gamma setting slightly to lift shadow detail and make dark scenes clearer.
