    Disappointed with Shutdowns and Voice Sinking

    First, the good: it has a great picture. It also has a good built-in sound system, which was the main reason I bought it as I cannot use a soundbar because of fireplace clearance. The bad, it just shuts off randomly, and for no reason, the voice sinking with the picture sometimes does not match. To correct the problem, the TV needs to reset/reboot. Also a pain in the you know what. Unfortunately, these problems did not show up until after the return period was over. Sony is a pain in the butt as they make it as difficult as possible to talk with support. Overall, I have had a number of Sony products, including TVs, but I do NOT recommend this model.

This is certainly not the seamless experience we strive to provide.

      To help resolve these glitches and get your TV performing as it should, we recommend trying the following steps:

      1- Please ensure your TV is running the latest firmware: Navigate to Settings > System > About > System Software Update > Update your TV software.

      2- Adjust Power & Energy Settings:
      To prevent the TV from shutting off unexpectedly, please disable the automatic power-saving timers:

      Go to Settings > System > Power and Energy.

      Set Power saving to OFF.

      Set Idle TV power off and Auto shut off to OFF.

      3- Isolate the Audio Sync Issue:
      Since the audio sync (lip-sync) can sometimes be caused by an external source rather than the TV itself, please test multiple inputs:

      Check if the delay happens on built-in streaming apps (like YouTube or Netflix) as well as external devices like a cable box or Blu-ray player. If the issue only occurs with one specific device, the settings on that device may need to be adjusted to match the TV’s output.

    The overall picture quality thanks to the black levels, brightness and stability is excellent. The functionality and options provided with the Sony will make any viewer more than happy no matter what their taste.     Great TV, but save your old remote!

    In response to the recent demise of my ten-year-old 3D Bravia, I acquired a Bravia 8 (65XR80CB) as a replacement. The Black Friday pricing was favorable, and the setup process was straightforward. Furthermore, the integration with my subscriptions was seamless. While the new Bravia offers superior performance compared to the earlier model, I acknowledge that it may not have fully met my expectations in terms of surround sound quality. Although not audiophile-grade, the sound output is impressive considering the television’s thin design. However, I do possess a dedicated 7.2 sound system consisting of a Denon AVR and Klipsch heritage speakers and subwoofers. Regrettably, the new remote control, unlike its predecessor, is incapable of establishing a connection with the AVR. A simple workaround involves utilizing the old remote control, but I would prefer to consolidate my remote controls into a single device. Despite my efforts to resolve this issue with Sony tech support, they were unable to provide a solution, asserting that it is not possible. Despite this inconvenient setback, the Bravia 8 remains an exceptional television. Its overall performance and features far surpass those of its predecessor, making it a worthwhile investment.

    Sony and Best Buy has got to do better!

    Purchased the new Bravia 65” OLED Google TV 3 months ago. I am so frustrated with this product! The TV screen freezes so often that you can’t get through a 2 hour program! Have to then turn off and restart. Sometimes having to totally unplug and restart! This is happening 3 to 5 times daily. Sony released a software update that was supposed to fix this problem but it has NOT! This has become a terrible purchase and an awful replacement for the old Bravia we owned without any issues. Sony and Best Buy (as its seller) have to do better! Only reason for two stars is the great picture quality. Signed I’m starting to hate this TV!

    TV turns off and picture freezes

    I have always been a Samsung TV person. We purchased this TV with the expectations that Sony would be one of the best. After about 2-4 weeks, we started experiencing a picture freeze while to sound would still be playing for the show we were watching. We also experience, the TV just randomly turning off and reboot itself( which took roughly a minute or 2. The picture freeze happens atleast once every day and the reboot atleast twice a day. Best buy will not honor a return because its outside their scope for it being returnable.. To pay the amount of money we did we expected this Sony to be a step up but it has just been a nightmare. For us to get the TV back from a frozen picture, I have to unplug the TV, then plug it back in. I really didnt expect this from a Sony tv and have been very disappointed in the product. I will say when the TV is working properly, the picture is great. I hope Sony will honor their product and replace the TV.
