Went from a Sony X900E to the X90K and now the A75L. So much better than a full array or mini LED TV. The only problem I've found with it is that it shows the flaws in bad video content. Some TV is filmed well, some is on the cheap. This TV will show those differences. Makes you want to stop watching some things and turn to the better sources. Even NFL games running at the same time look different, must be the broadcast source. Amazing how much is missing from non-OLED TVs. Reviews had mentioned a lack of brightness before I bought it, but I don't see that. I did go to the most vibrant setting then dialed back the colors, but its every bit as bright as my other Sonys. Really like that Sony brought the price down from the A80L level and only took out features not picture quality. I would not be an OLED owner without that. I export my sound to a full surround system so no opinion on the TV sound. I have to use Roku for my Spectrum connection, but don't use any other streaming services. DVD and Bluray plus Spectrum. No gaming. Very impressed with black separation. I've watched movies now where I can see the contrast in dark color where I never saw them before. Local news person had a grey top on that had black piping at the edges I would never have noticed before. If Sony can keep the A75L priced where it is, there is no reason for anyone to buy a non-OLED Sony. The price jump is minimal and the picture difference is huge.

Beautiful OLED screen! The colors are so vibrant, and the dark or black scenes are sharp as can be. I have a Sony 75" LED local dimming, and the OLED is brighter, with darker with sharper dark colors! Very happy with the price $1499 too! Just checked and it's off sale at $1999, so wait if you can!! Geek Squad did a great job mounting the TV with sound on the wall too!

Fantastic OLED TV When we visited bestbuy, we were attracted to the A80L display. Based on the spec and the guidance from the employees, we decided to pick A75L which has same display and processor Display Quality - Captivating video quality. Contrast is great. Colors are great. Movie watching experience is fantastic It boosts the video pixel quality. Usability - It has Google TV OS which gives Android like seamless experience. Controls are nice. TV app store is great and it has most of the streaming apps and browser Connecting to external devices is easy. Home screen shows the progress of video on different apps. It also shows the availability of any video content. Voice control is great Sound - It has Acoustic Surface Audio+ speaker on screen giving nice surround and crisp effects. Gaming - i tried only ps4. its marketed as good for ps5. Great Design , Has Eco mode Dolby Atmos, Dolby vision, Imax enhanced mode are the other great features. Particularly with Netflix, it has a nice calibrated setting. Anti glare is decent. Bright room display is good. Few negatives are sometimes it gets bit darker.[change of display setting could help] IMO this has better video quality/apps than LG C3 but c3 is bit brighter and better in handling smoothness of fast moving objects

This Sony Bravia 65 inch XR A75L 4K OLED TV has an excellent picture and was $100 less than the comparable Samsung S90C or LG C3 for Black Friday through Cyber Monday 2023. It took me a while to find this info on Sony's site, but it actually has the LG WOLED screen similar to the LG C3 (not sure if it's the new EVO version that is better). I really wanted the Samsung Quantum Dot (QD) OLED since it has some advantages over WOLED, but Sony Bravia TV's have a great reputation for picture quality and I'm sure Sony Studios contributes a lot to their TV picture settings. There are so many different opinions on YouTube and other Tech sites about how to get the best picture settings on the XR A75/80/95L series. Some said to use specific settings for normal sources (SD, 720P, 1080P, DVD, BluRay), and use different settings for 4K UHD sources (Streaming, UHD BluRay, etc.). Within 4K UHD sources you have to know whether it was recorded with HLG, HDR 10, Dolby Vision, etc. and change the settings accordingly for each to ensure you see it the way it was recorded. To be honest, a lot of these HDR settings add a sickly jaundice yellow tint especially to skin tones that does Not look natural to me and some of the picture depth is missing. This is too many settings to worry about when watching TV! I experimented with different opinions that make some things look good for one source and not so good for others. So I found settings I think look good for any source (SD, 720p, 1080p, 4K UHD). Before 4K and OLED TV's came out, I would consider myself very knowledgeable on calibrating 1080p TV's using diagnostics. These new TV's have so many new options and I'm currently on a learning curve since this is my first 4K TV. Some of my settings were just based on how it changed the picture which is subjective, but hopefully this will benefit someone else. What looks good for me may not look good for others. I have a Yamaha Home Theater Receiver (HTR) than can do 4K Passthrough or Upscaling. The only input I’m using on the TV is HDMI 3/eARC so I can send the Audio from the TV back to the HTR. HDMI 3 also supports up to 144HZ and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for gaming. Before changing picture settings make sure the HDMI input settings are correct as follows: 1. Click the Gear icon on the remote to open the Settings Menu. 2. On the Settings Menu click OK on the remote to select the highlighted Gear icon on the menu. 3. Select the Channels & Inputs option. 4. Select the External Inputs option. 5. Select the HDMI Signal Format option. 6. Change all HDMI Inputs you are using to get the best setting. I’m Only using HDMI 3 so it’s set to Enhanced Format since the TV can support it and none of my external 4K devices support Dolby Vision. If I’m going to change my HTR HDMI input for Gaming, then I would change this to Enhanced Format (VRR). Note! - If this is your first 4K UHD TV make sure all of your HDMI cables to the TV and other 4K devices are Certified HDMI 2.1 that support all current 4K UHD standards and some 8K standards. This will insure you get the best picture possible on your TV. My Picture Settings are as follows: 1. Press the Wrench icon on the Remote to open the Quick Settings menu and do the following: A. Set Picture Mode to Vivid. B. Set Auto Picture Mode to Off. C. Set Brightness to Max. D. Set Power Saving to Off. E. Set Light Sensor to Off. 2. Select the Picture Settings and do the following: A. Under Basic verify Picture Mode and Auto Picture Mode are the same as your changes on the Quick Settings menu. B. Under Ambient Optimization Pro verify the Light Sensor is the same as your change on the Quick Settings menu. C. Under Brightness do the following: 1. Set Brightness to Max 2. Set Contrast to 90. 3. Set Gamma to 0 4. Set HDR Tone Mapping to either Brightness Preferred or Gradation Preferred (which ever looks best to you. Sometimes this option is grayed out and can't be changed based on other settings.). 5. Set Black Level to 50. 6. Set Black Adjust to Low. 7. Set Adv. Contrast Enhancer to Low (Off looks very good while Low adds a bit more image depth. Medium and High over saturates the image). 8. Set Peak Luminence to High. D. Under Color do the following: 1. Set Color to 53. 2. Set Hue to 0. 3. Set Color Temperature to Neutral (If I set this to Cool skin tone looks pastey blue and setting this to Warm, Expert 1, or Expert 2 adds too much red to skin tone. Expert 1 is supposed to be perfect white for HDR but adds too much red to skin tone, and I don't like how it changes other colors. Again this is subjective to the viewer.). 4. Set Live Color to Low or Medium (Setting this to Off doesn't look natural and High looks over saturated). E. Under Clarity do the following: 1. Set Sharpness to 50. 2. Set Reality Creation to Manual, and Resolution to 50. 3. Set Random Noise Reduction to Low. 4. Set Digital Noise Reduction to Low. 5. Set Smooth Gradation to Low. F. Under Motion do the following: 1. Set Motion Flow to Off. 2. Set CineMotion to Off. G. Under Video Signal do the following: 1. Set HDR Mode to Auto. 2. Set HDMI Video Range to Auto. 3. Set Color Space to Auto. With these settings I think the picture quality of my apps (YouTube TV, Netflix, Prime) looks great. I don’t currently have 4K on my YouTube TV or Netflix subscriptions; however, all my live TV channels look much better than my old TV, and the movie Lucy on Netflix looks fantastic! To watch a true 4K UHD source I played Top Gun Maverick on Prime and also used the regular YouTube app and searched for 4K UHD 120fps and played some of their videos for nature and special effects. OMG, I was blown away by the Image Clarity, Depth, and Color of this screen!! I'm still learning but in my Honest opinion this TV is well worth the Holiday price! I still have some confusion about whether this can do 4K Upscaling for lower resolutions. Other brands have an Upscaling option in their menu. This TV has no setting I can find that specifically says Upscaling. Maybe it's controlled by the Reality Creation settings but I've searched Google and haven't found anything definitive. I will follow up with Best Buy support (where I bought it) and Sony to get the answer. Remember, the more processing you add to the settings can result in a fake looking image. Some video is recorded at different Frames Rates (FPS of 24, 30, 60). Some HDR images have a certain amount of graininess on purpose especially in skin texture and too much processing can have a negative effect on this also. My baseline recommendations should help, but I strongly urge you to experiment by changing settings while watching to see the effect it has and what looks better to you. Don’t worry if you mess up because every Picture Mode can be reset to factory. I will try to update this review as I learn more.

Picture & Display Quality • QD-OLED Brilliance (A95L) The A95L integrates quantum dot technology for vibrant, wide-gamut color and impressive peak brightness. Individually lit pixels deliver absolute blacks and remarkable detail . • OLED Excellence (Bravia 8, K65XR80) The Bravia 8 offers the deep contrast and rich colors typical of OLED plus Sony’s XR Triluminos Pro for enhanced color rendition and HDR performance . • Mini-LED Option (Bravia 5 / K65XR50) For brighter rooms, the Bravia 5 uses Mini-LED backlighting (XR Backlight Master Drive) and Sony’s XR Processor to produce strong contrast, precise lighting, and smooth motion—ideal for mixed viewing environments.

I can't possibly say enough good things about this TV. Picture quality: Pros: You can see the pores on people's faces. 180 degree off angle viewing is still crystal clear. Cons: They need to give you more ability to increase the brightness. You have to max it out to get something decent. Ease of Use: The settings are extremely easy to get to, and very intuitive to figure out everything you want to do without a manual, or even without thinking. Sound quality: It's surprisingly good just with the TV alone.

I found this TV on sale while shopping for OLED televisions. I had narrowed my brand searches down to LG and Sony. After comparison shopping both brands' OLED offerings in the 65" size, I chose the Sony due to the price point I was willing to pay and the online reviews from various websites. I could not be happier with this purchase as the blacks are really black and the other colors simply pop in realistic tones and brightness. The menu is intuitive and easy to use as well. I also had the Geek Squad install the TV to my existing mount and move my older TV into my bedroom. The hauled off my 2008 Sony so I didn't have to deal with the recycling myself. As a Best Buy Plus member those services are well worth the investment. I highly recommend theis TV!

Incredible value. If you don't intend to use the Stand or internal speakers, this is a no brainer vs. the A80L. The other feature it excludes is the talk to me TV feature. Otherwise this TV performs more or less the same as the A80L. If you compare this to the Samsung S90C and the LG C3, it's actually the least expensive. S90C has QDOLED so colors pop more; however, the sacrifice is in the video processing where the Sony excels. Movie watching in a dark room is superior on the Sony, IMO. The LG would be a great choice for Dolby Vision gaming, though still the Sony has the better picture quality.

Bro!! I had a full array Sony Bravia before this. It died on me in the middle of the night. So I went to best buy for this TV. And it's such an upgrade. I had stupidly thought my last TV was good. It's got nothing on this absolute beast! The picture is insane. I'm playing video games every chance I get. Everything is now a visual feast. Buy yourself one and enjoy life again. Times are tough. This is worth going 2 weeks without food and money. You'll have this TV. I'm honestly blown away. Can't recommend high enough.

I just bought the 65 inch A75L to replace my 2013 60 inch Panasonic Plasma ZT60 (ie considered to be the best Plasma TV ever made). Well, it’s no contest between the A75L and the ZT60. The Sony wins hands down. The A75L is amazing. You’re essentially getting the A80L (ie same panel, same processor, etc…). There are only 4 differences between the A80L and A75L: 1) The A75L only comes in 55 & 65 inch sizes. 2) The A75L has a different speaker configuration than the A80L (ie the A80L has much superior sound). 3) The A75L has a “fixed” stand position and a different style stand than the other “premium” Sony XR level TVs. 4) They removed the microphone from the TV on the A75L…but, the mic function is still in the remote. So no “hands free” voice commands). That’s it! All else is identical. So, if you’re adding external speakers (ie soundbar, etc…), the 55/65 size works for you (ie as it does for most), The stand on the A75 works for you (ie as it does for me) and you don’t mind that there’s no mic on the TV…get the A75L instead of the A80L and same some $$$ Wanted to add: I actually found the stand on the A75L to be a nice “feature”. The footprint is not as “wide”, so I was able to fit it on my existing stand….and….it sits high enough that I can place my center channel on my home theater system in front of the TV and fits perfectly!

For the price and size this model Sony flat-screen is a great buy. I enjoy the clarity and color of the picture. The built-in speakers have quality sound and I can literally take my remote in to room and still have complete control of my TV. The TV has built in chrome cast and a host of other apps to enjoy. Fantastic TV with perfect contrast and zero blooming. Also, the sound is solid and the brightness is more than adequate. Great OLED TV for the price

Buy elsewhere. I went into Encinitas BB to purchase this TV and another Sony 65" Bravo. I explained that I needed them by a certain date and they assured me they would arrive prior. They didn't...tried to remedy through BB and it was one nightmare encounter after another. No customer service. Got same TV through Amazon at better price and NO problem. BB lost me forever as a customer. TV is fine, BB is NOT. Go elselwhere

Easy to assemble and set up. Very dynamic with the different picture modes for different uses. Love having different HDMI ports for 4K 120Hz devices and some that support older devices. Haven’t taken advantage of the built in software as much, but the few minutes I’ve spent navigating the home menu has been fast and responsive.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the XR65A75L, Gavin!

It's wonderful to hear that you found assembly and setup straightforward. The versatility offered by the picture modes is designed to help users tailor their viewing experience for everything from movies to gaming, so we're glad you're enjoying the dynamic options.

We appreciate your feedback about the HDMI port variety. Having ports that support both 4K 120Hz for next-gen devices and compatibility with older hardware is important for many users, and it’s great to know this flexibility has been valuable for you.

It’s also encouraging that you found the home menu fast and responsive, even with limited use so far. Whenever you’re ready to explore more of the built-in software, you’ll find features like Google TV recommendations, voice search, and the Bravia Core streaming service—each designed to help you get even more from your TV.

If you have any questions about settings or want tips on using apps and smart features, the support team is always happy to help. Thanks again for taking the time to review your XR65A75L!

      Thank you for choosing Sony!

      Best regards,
      Gus

Upgraded to this from my aging Samsung Plasma. WOW. Spent endless hours comparing this with comparable models from LG and Samsung and am happy with the decision. The A75L uses the same panel as the A80L, but has inferior sound quality and no adjustable stand - two things that I don't need. Zero complaints regardless of content being displayed.
