Great TV, color and picture are crisp. I previously had a 60in 1080p sony bravia 3d smart tv which worked great all the years i had it. But with me having a ps5.I needed something beyter and this A80J did not disappoint. I have all my show apps on the tv now instead of on my playstation. Movies are even better on the tv. After a year of use Im still happy with everything this tv does

OLED displays used to cost several thousands of dollars for screens less than half the size of this unit. But, for ~$2000 this Bravia XR is just simply stunning. The contrast and deep blacks pull you right into the screen. The display is so good that I actually can tell that my eyeglass lenses need to be replaced due to the slight hazing I get when I use them. The menu display is nicely organized and I oftentimes use one of the built-in screensaver apps just so that I can use the Bravia as a from of high tech art in my living room. I did opt to order the remote for the A90J which is not only a nicer looking stainless finish, but more importantly, has a motion-activated backlight that makes the remote significantly easier to use in a dark room. I won't take off a star, but for the price it's ridiculous that you have to spend another ~$80 to get the better remote. Another nice feature of the Bravia are the adjustable feet so this will fit on just about any size tv stand if you're not mounting it on a wall.

One of the better TVs I’ve ever owned. It’s rare I ever feel content with the TV, there’s always something that I think can be improved. Though with this TV, I love the picture, I love the features, I love the accessibility, and I love the UI.

The picture is very very good. It has many features that unless you are savvy you may not use or even know exist. One problem is that Bally Sports (streaming app) continues to disconnect which we are told from Bally Sport customer service is a known issue with this TV and not an app issue. We have to run that app thru our Roku device to TV then works fine, IDK. All other streaming app we use seem fine and streaming is all we do. Sound was better on this TV and a sound bar was not necessary as was on previous models with sound coming out the back. I like this TV.

Best TV ever for me. Great contrast, color and black level. Looks great especially in HDR and Dolby Vision. The pictures look very real as if I were physically present. The brightest level is higher than I expected. The TV is very user friendly. The only negative I have is the remote control doesn't have back light. Overall a 5 stars TV.

Everyone and their dog praises my tv, I receive compliments so often! I purchased this as an out of box tv, it was slightly bent at the top right, but zero performance issues. I got a great deal on it. My kids play shows and minecraft on it during the day all the time, and my wife has neighbor girls night watching movies at night. I highly recommend it!

probably the best TV I have ever owned. Absolutely amazing color, contrast and clarity on this display. Amazing for movies and videos games. Stunning colors on this display everything looks lifelike as if you’re looking out a window and the sound is amazing with its acoustic surface audio. Some may not need to buy an additional soundbar

I’m coming from a plasma TV that still holds strong black levels and accurate color representation. I’m used to color accuracy and great motion handling and this Sony A80J is quite similar but brighter. While, this OLED does not really pop in colors vs a QLED; it does succeed in other areas like I mentioned. Motion handling for sports and action scenes are processed quite good. No blurs from watching a soccer ball travel across the screen. In fair comparison, I had a 4K ultra HD that I swapped this for because while the colors and peak nits were much greater; I feel that the colors were not accurate. Even with tuning and calibration. I know everyone will have their own unique experiences and preferences but for me, I like the warm lifelike picture I get from the A80J. The Sony processor on the A80J does a fantastic job of upscaling other content that is not 4K. I did not notice this until I started to watch non 4K content and the picture was also satisfactory. As for the TV speakers….. get a sound bar or a true dedicated component setup for best results. I do wish that the overall peak brightness on this TV were just a tad bit more though. Overall, great decision so far. I hope this helps you in your choice in the panel lottery.

So far so good. This TV replaced a 5 year old Sony XBR that conked out on us, so I hope it has better longevity than that one. But the initial experience with this unit is very positive. The picture is clean and clear. I've tried some 4K viewing through the apps and it looks amazing. There are enough presets for the display to find the kind of image you are looking for. Also, there is enough flexibility in the audio settings to get it to actually sound really good. While we still may get a sound bar, I don't feel like its absolutely necessary with this unit. Google TV seems to be a little more straightforward to use than the old android system on the XBR. All in all, I'm very happy so far. I just hope it lasts longer than the last unit.

This Sony Bravia TV from Best Buy IS the best!! Never any trouble in 4 years. It gets the highest recommendation!

I'm seeing color tones I've never seen on a TV now! OLED is great. Even with out a sound bar, it sounds really good. Best buy did an excellent job doing the delivery, wall mounting, and set up. Only complaint is the screen reflects outside light during the day. Oh, and menu format is easy navigate. Very Happy with this purchase (so far, as I've only had the TV for a couple of weeks). Glad I went with the A80J, instead of paying the extra for the A90J.

Amazing picture, True blacks make the other colors look great. User interface is very easy to use. The google tv was a pleasant surprise, compatible with all the streaming services we use. Remote is user friendly. And the sound is respectable without using a sound bar.

Great OLED TV for the price. I bought 2 TVs, one for the den and one for a newly remodeled family room. The OLED TV in the family room gets the south sun during the evening and the TV adjusts accordingly to keep the picture bright and vivid. Added a small Sony sound bar to the OLED TV in the den and am very pleased with picture and sound. The small Sony Sound bar is perfect for the den. And, the Sony sound bar with a Sony TV allows one to sync TV quickly and also mate operation of the TV and sound bar with a cable remote. Be sure to first sync your cable remote with the Sony TV code on cable company website before adding the sound bar. This will allow you to adjust the sound bar volume with you cable remote. Nice feature. Overall, really pleased with the OLED TVs, the many TV setting options and Google TV apps offered.

While the Sony A80j OLED TV may not seem that bright when compared to the measured brightness of LED backlit televisions, the perceptual brightness of the picture, especially specular brightness, in a darkened room looks even brighter than LED TVs. As professional reviewers point out, this is true because of the great contrast between the absolute blacks that OLED technology has, which even micro-LED multi-zone backlit VA panels cannot match. Combine this attribute with Sony’s unmatched XR processor and X-Reality Pro engine and an OLED panel with a broad color spectrum, and you have a television that other companies cannot equal for detail, color accuracy and sharpness. When we go to Best Buy we always stroll by the TVs and see what is new. We had a 42" that was 10 years old and would say "we need to replace that someday". As we strolled into the Magnolia center, I found myself staring at this Sony XR. The color was brilliant and deep. The all too helpful sales staff pointed out the black color definition. When something was black - it was black and not the annoying halo grey my current TV had. Well I just could't walk away, I was there for an hour watching the demo's and learning about the features. I intended to buy a 55", but the picture was too good to pass up up the 65". In this case bigger was better. So, they all seem to look good in the store, but once at home they lose something. I have had this experience, have you? Not so with this TV, it is as great in my living room as in the store. Once the mind is expanded - you can never go back. One note of advise, let the Geek Squad install for you. Many hands are needed to handle and mount this beauty.

Best picture quality I’ve ever seen aside from the A90J. But this tv far less expensive and only slightly “worse”. Picture is simply stunning and another level. Content that is 720p and even non HD content looks like it is 4K many times because of the upscaling. Colors really pop and the picture looks 3D, especially in HDR. I love the black levels as with all OLED TVs and you simply can’t go back once you’ve experienced owning one of these things. They make all other televisions look washed out and terrible in terms of blacks and skin tones. Only negative is some gaming features that LG has still aren’t supported. Sony has promised VRR but it still isn’t on this model as of yet so I cannot evaluate it. This tv also does not support Dolby vision in game mode which is a knock against it as well and I really don’t understand why Sony doesn’t support this. I am a hardcore gamer and can live without these features for now because of the amazing picture, but if it wasn’t for that I’d have the LG right now

Coming from an 11-year-old 1080p display, this new Sony TV is a huge upgrade. Picture quality is great out of the box, setup is straightforward, and it took no time at all to get used to the new features that my older TV did not have. There is a slight magenta tint when viewing off-axis, but this is hardly noticeable while watching regular content and seems to be an issue with many OLED TVs this year. Sony’s Bravia Core streaming service (which you get 12 months for free and 5 free “premium” movies) has a decent selection. I imagine it will improve over time since it is relatively new. If you are in the market for a new OLED TV or just a new TV in general, I highly recommend giving the A80J a look. Also, If you can wait until Black Friday (I could not) this TV may drop below $2000 based on previous year’s models.

LOVE this tv!! Great picture quality! Looks great hanging on wall or above fireplaces because it’s nice and sleek! Easy to set up and use! We added a Sony soundbar to give it better sound but that’s necessary with all TVs anymore.

Tv is amazing. Colors are rich. Bright scenes shine. You can see all the different shades of black and tell the texture of everything. And I came from a 4k projector so I'm used to the detail. The only complaint I have is with Best Buy. I bought an open box. They took 500.00 off because it was in satisfactory condition. They then took another 10% off. They assured me it was a great deal, even though I had to rent a cargo van to get it to my house because it had no box and they said it had to stay upright. Then they dropped the price for a new unopened one to almost what I paid for it a few days later. When I tried to get it pricematched or adjusted or even just a warranty since it was used, the app just said it was too close to black Friday to process price matches. I thought they would at least throw in a warranty. I'm in a position now of figuring out whether I keep it or rent a van again and get a new one for about the same price.

I replaced a 55" LG OLED purchased in 2013 with this new Sony 65" OLED. The picture image on the Sony is stunning and with the extra real estate ,the viewing enjoyment is improved immensely. The Sony UI using Google TV and the Google voice remote is really quite good and easy to navigate. In addition, this new Sony TV is connected to a new Sonos ARC sound-bar. The action scenes now sound good and match the incredible Sony picture. We are extremely happy with the Sony XR-A08J TV and looking forward to enjoying many hours of UHD 4K shows from Netflix and Prime Video.
