This model replaced a 2019 65" class BRAVIA OLED 4K UHD TV and somehow Sony has managed to deliver a noticeable improvement in overall picture quality with the A95L. I didn't need a sophisticated technical readout to convince me. All I needed was an unsolicited comment from my wife telling me she can see the improvement!

Vibrant oled marred by panel uniformity issues

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Sony A95L has vibrant colors thanks to it's 2nd generation qd-oled panel, best in class upscaling and motion processing, and can get very bright for an oled. Unfortunately the Sony A95L dark uniformity isn't clean. The panel exhibits vertical streaks near black. This is only an issue in darker scenes of movies and is only visible when you look for it but once you see it you will always see it. I exchanged this TV 3 times so far because of this issue and all 3 panels exhibited these vertical streaks near black. The 2nd panel was damaged and had a scratch on the screen. If Sony would put a pull off plastic screen on their master series TV's this could be avoided.

Awesome TV from Sony

But the definition was n this set on my ‘’65 Sony is night from day. It doesn’t need any calibration just keep it in professional mode that’s it. I can image how sharp and color accuracy will be if it was calibrated. Thank you Sony for the best tv on the market right now. Word of advise if you have to use one streaming device use Apple TV it has the best picture quality including Dolby Vision which is awesome.

I upgraded and kinda pessimistic about it thinking I was probably going to return it. Man was I wrong! This tv is the cream of the crop, everything about this tv is phenomenal. Gaming on my Ps5 and watching TV blows me away everytime. Makes you forget about the price tag. If anybody was looking for a review that’s worth anything to pull the trigger on this tv? This is the one you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic picture right out of the box. Great sound by itself but I have hooked up to surround system. OS is ok. The amount of junk and bloatware they put in the menus is too much IMO but that is a criticism of just about any smart TV I have bought in the past ten years. I don't want a link to YouTubeKids, etc. Bought this to replace an LG OLED from 2018 and very happy with the upgrade. My only regret is that I didn't have room for the 77" screen size on the wall where we put it.

Overall the TV interface is good but I chose not to use the GoogleTV features so can't comment on the built-in apps, etc. The TV UI has a few too many corners IMO where certain things are hidden away, and still not 100% sure on the duplication of things like HDMI inputs when CEC devices are plugged in, but it mostly just works. The most serious limitation, IMO, is the eARC port being on one of the only two HDMI 2.1 inputs. My old Vizio soundbar is a bit flaky (not Sony's fault), but I was hoping I could use the eARC HDMI port exclusively for audio to the SoundBar, but between my PS5 and AppleTV I had to use both HDMI 2.1 ports.
