Sony the name says it all breath taking pictures an sound

Love love love this TV, Sony is bar none with TVs and the Best Buy team was helpful in ensuring we selected the best option for our home!

So far this TV has been great! Would recommend to anyone looking for a tv for movies and gaming.

Don’t buy! There is a software issue with this tv. The screen goes black have to reset to have tv to show picture. This is an on going problem with Sony. I ca not get any help or satisfaction.

Where to even start.... I am very, very happy with this purchase! I pretty much only use this tv for ps5 but I have to say movies look so amazing on it! I'm so glad I spent the extra money and got the X93L instead of the lower model. The blacks/darks look super dark and yet it looks amazing in a well lit room. The only thing negative in my opinion with this tv is the anti reflective feature in the glass- the way it disperses light is kind of annoying and distracting to me, but it might not bug you. However, it's not a big deal at all, I got used to it right away, and you can't even see it unless the screen is all black. Playing PS5 on this tv is absolutely amazing! I was also very pleasantly surprised how good Switch looks on it! I like to play in a well lit room so a mini LED was the way to go for me. I really glad I researched tv's as much as I did before buying. In my opinion mini LEDs are pretty close to being the best of both worlds between OLED and LED. Even when the tv is off and hanging idle on the wall- it looks so high quality and like a total work of art. This tv is soooo awesome! If you're interested in a mini LED you will not be disappointed!

Finally decided it was time to upgrade from my Samsung 60” plasma of 9 yrs. I reviewed for a month and decided I wanted a mini-LED, not an OLED. Personal preference, not bashing OLED. Decided on Sony over TCL QM8 and Hisense U8 for the brilliant Sony processing algorithms. This TV is very bright out of the box. Followed the settings recommended on RTINGs and am happy with the display. Very responsive and works great with my Fire Cube for all our streaming needs. Blacks are black. Blooming, if any, is not noticeable. Colors POP! Sports and movies are presented as realistically as I could imagine. Sound is good. It’s a thin TV, not an audio system. Sony receiver with Polk surround speakers provide a very immersive experience. We have the TV over the fireplace. One thing to note is the VESA mounting pattern and location of holes on back of TV. The old plasma had them higher up the back. This TV has them lower on the back requiring us to lower the wall mount a little to center. Overall we are extremely pleased. The Sony hype is real.

In deciding to replace a 15 year-old old TV that finally died, I researched then chose this model (over even the X90L) as a great compromise of features in Sony's lineup. I bought the 65" model, where total immersion can be felt by sitting ~6' away or - for general use - 9~10 feet away is more than great for a 10x14' living room loaded with sofas, people, and/or pets. Strengths: * image processing of SD material (480i or 1080P). The upscaling algorithms are second to none, by far. Even out of the box, and I know stronger noise cleanup settings exist. * Colors out of the box simply POP. Calibration will produce far better results. * Not much halo. For LED backlit, with over 400 light zones, haloing is a minor problem. My previous set had 32 zones and haloing was "worse", though to me it's not a deal-breaker. Even when watching space battles. * Zero chance of burn-in. OLED sets can still cause burn-in over time. LED-lit LCD sets don't. * Reflections are minimal, and many eliminated due to how bright this set it. Even with space battle scenes where reflective glare is inevitable, it doesn't detract. * Brightness is simply radiating. Even at 35 (out of 50), this thing is bright. Having bias lighting in the background is recommended to prevent eyestrain. Even a light bulb or two in a cheap fixture put behind the set will do, but I do like the professionally-built lights I've seen available. * Is heavy and sturdy, so if you have a cat that likes to jump onto stands, it won't knock this thing over unless it lifts weights while you're busy in another room. Weaknesses: * viewing angle is good, but not great - I've seen no problems, but other models are better with wider viewing angles. This set is better than my previous one, which was rated worse in review sites for viewing angle * weight: A small issue, but this is 78 pounds with the legs. Other 65" sets are 50~60lb * Stand legs: Small or negligible depending on what you have the set on. Unlike the X90L's 3 width positions, there aren't as many positions for the legs (narrow or wide). Wide extends all the way across the set. narrow is still very stable but not as stable. So for a corner tv stand that's 61" wide, you'll want the narrow layout. Unsure: * Some review sites do cite certain motion video issues, but I've not seen any yet - and I came from a TV that was far worse in this area. * Sound: I have a discrete receiver. A quick test of the built-in sound reveals good sound, as much as one would expect for any TV with built-in speakers. All in all, this is a great set.

Great TV. Picture quality is excellent, with vivid detail. Blacks are black. The best part for our situation, is the room has a lot of reflected light. This TV picks up less of that than other high end TVs we have had in this room. Partially because of the type of glass used in the TV. Partially because of the very good brightness of the screen. I can not judge the sound on this TV because we use it with an A/V amp system and external speakers.

I’ve had my Sony xr65x93l for 2 months. The color is bright and Crisp and the blacks are really black.I read a lot of reviews on oled v/s mini led. I’m happy with my dicision to go with the mini led. This tv blows away the Samsung it replaced. I’ve had fellow sports fans over for the football playoffs and they all gave me rave reviews on the picture. Two of them have bought the tv while it was still on sale. Sony is the one and only!!!

I really didn't want to buy a new TV. Afterall, I spent $2,500 on an LG OLED 65C7P only four years ago. But after severe burn-in/image retention ruined it completely (Yeah, the problem is very real! Newer OLED's are supposed to have auto pixel refresh but I still wouldn't trust them), I fired LG and OLED and reluctantly began searching for a new 65" 4K for my 7.1 home theater system (So I can't comment on the TV's sound). Money scorned, I first considered value brands Hisense and TCL but subsequently realized the Sony X90L was a terrific value at then $1100 with a superior image processor for motion control, color accuracy and image upscaling (I watch lots of cable). Plus the full-array local dimming with 80 LED's delivered admirable though not over the top brightness and contrast. Problem was I was also aware of the Sony X93L with mini-LED. So I went to Best Buy to compare hoping the X90L would suit my needs and I wouldn't have to spend the additional $600 to total $1,700 for an X93L. To be clear, the X90L is an outstanding TV and I'm sure I would have been happy with it, but the additional brightness and shadow detail of the X93L was just so obvious to me I had to have it. So I justified the additional expense as worth it over the life of the TV and bought the X93L. Btw, the aluminum materials are beautiful and it's very classy looking. Now, having lived with it for most of a week, the verdict is in. The Sony 65X93L is awesome in every meaningful way and I'm super happy to own it!

Have had the 65” X93L for a few weeks now and it’s been such an improvement from our old TV. Incredibly bright and dark scenes are plenty dark with very little blooming, especially when watching the TV head on. I don’t use the built-in speakers but they’re pretty good.
