I am impressed with the picture quality, vibrancy of colors, and the sound. The television is in my family room and it’s the perfect size for the space. Given the quality of the sound, I didn’t need to purchase a sound bar.

The pictures quality on this TV is so amazing I bought a second set for our second floor loft! I was initially concerned about mounting it against the wall due to the large subwoofer built into the tilt / rear mounting bracket as I didn't want the set projecting to far from the wall. No problems here. The sound quality is also fantastic and the set has the ability to turn off the sound for an independent system. My only gripe, and it's a small one is the audio jack on the tv if plugged in will override the TVs speakers and the only way to deactivate this is to unplug the jack. I use the jack to feed Pandora to my independent audio system. As far as I'm concern the picture and audio quality of this TV more than make up for this minor oversight on Sony's part.

This 4K HD set is truly amazing. Driving the LG panel with Sony electronics there is no shutter or jitter on anything we have watched so far - sports, movies, action, etc... While I am bummed to see them drop the 3D option, especially since we have a large collection of 3D BluRay discs, the depth of field this set creates is nearly 3D like. The vibrancy and delineation between foreground and background, foliage and structures is again eye popping. Just watching the photos in our screen saver while listening to Apple TV music has been fun - same photos, yes - but they seem like new. And the integrated speakers are such a welcome improvement over the older rear firing format. Yes, I would certainly recommend this set.

great display... sound and interface are adequate

The picture is stunning... rich, bright... incredible black levels... finally a display that beats plasma for cinematic blacks... gorgeous top notch display performance. The form factor is divisive... everyone loves how thin the display is, but some people are put off by the kickstand and angled screen. I personally love using the stand and don't notice the angle, but if I was to wall mount, I'd probably have gone with a different unit that would mount closer to the wall. The sound tech is very cool, but the performance is only adequate depending on your space and expectations. I watched without external audio for awhile, but I decided I needed to go with an external system. A picture this good needs to be complemented by an equally immersive sound field. the sound is perfectly serviceable, but it's just not great. The software and remote are ok... both seem antiquated and a bit laggy. again, perfectly serviceable... they work fine, just not the same high level execution as the display. Overall wonderful... love the looks, love the display, love the way it sits on my console... could use a UI update and a better remote.

My wife and I spent literaly 2 hours to chose Sony OLED or LG OLED (G7). I felt like we were a ping pong ball; and we ended up buying Sony. It is a awsome OLED TV as described - picture quality is superb, especially 4K upscaling because of its processors. I kind of did not like two things and I strongly suggest Sony to work on it for next versions: 1. TV leans back like a picture frame. 2. Surface speakers, and back faced subwoofer. It is not a big deal but Sony should work on smart TV part as well.

Having read a few reviews subsequent to the release of this OLED set at the 2017 Electronic's show at Las Vegas. I was overwhelmed by the spectacular and vivid images, the dynamic sound projection without the usual sound bar, and outstanding contrast and deep blacks displayed by this set. In my opinion, this set far exceeds any other competitive 65" OLED set. The quality is easily discerned by the simplicity of the bezel, the finished glass back, and the unbelievable sound projection from the entire screen. Having trusted SONY quality for many generations of various items, I am very pleased that this OLED set continues their outstanding heritage in their electronic's history.

My original purchase was LG's OLED65C7P, between this and Sony's XBR65A1E, decided on the LG C7P. They are both beautiful OLEDs, price was the deciding factor. Now let me say I loved the overall look and tech that went into the A1E (remote aside). The OLED screen sandwiched between a front and back glass panel, sound actuators in rear turn it into the speakers for this tv. Very cool, still i use a sound bar most of the time for more immersion. I was always planning on mounting my Tv, the C7P has a smaller mounting point than I'm use to and the A1E's kickstand brought up some questions. Mounted both without a problem, you mount directly to the A1E kickstand which locks against screen. Not a fan of super thin screens, I was afraid to damage the C7P but the A1E felt soo much more solid. Since electronics have to be housed somewhere both have depth, bottom of C7P and kickstand of A1E. So after purchasing LG C7P ultimately returned due to vertical banding issues, seems to be a problem with some OLED models after doing more research. Returned next day and picked up Sony XBR65A1E, should have been my first choice and now on sale. Beautiful picture and smooth motion due to processor. Loved the design and tech that went into this model, could not be happier with my decision. The only thing is the remote seems like an afterthought, but not a problem gets job done.

Not a fanatic about deeper black and other buzz words used to sell people on this TV, so I will keep it simple. Simply amazing!!! Picture, quality, sound, streaming capabilities, technology use...Better than the competition. TVs are not investments, it's a purchase made to for enjoyment. This TV is worth the purchase and is bringing lots of visual enjoyment.

this tv is an upgrade from my plasma TV. Very glad that I did this. My viewing experience at home is now phenomenal and through the roof. i've just begun the journey into 4K video and I really REALLY like it!!! my biggest complaint for the TV is the speaker wattage. When I watch Game of Thrones, I can't understand what they say in the whisper moments unless I put the TV volume to 45 (out of 100). I need to supplement this with a sound bar. I would still buy the TV even though I know about the weak sound. Sony put all the eggs in the video basket instead of the sound basket with this TV. i'm getting used to android TV. I've never had to navigate using apps before. More to come on that later.

This Sony 65 in oled TV is better than the reviews I checked on before buying. With this TV you don't need a sound bar because the speakers are in the whole 65 inch screen. One half is the left speaker and that other half is the right speaker with a subwoofer in the back. The sound and the color are outstanding. I would highly recommend the Sony XBR65A1E to anyone looking for a great large screen TV. The Geek squad did a great job installing this beautiful TV in our new media wall.

For the price of this tv I could’ve bought 4 TVs at Walmart, but none of them would amount to the quality of this TV. There is an old sane, you pay for what you get, and this tv was worth every cent. Also very thankful that I bought this tv on a special offer so it was a lot more cheaper than when I first looked at it.

After test driving a lg oled in 2017 I wasn’t impressed with the way it handled cinema motion. Once the Sony A1E price dropped I couldn’t resist. This television replaced my beloved Samsung F8500 plasma. I’ve been blown away by picture quality from my Oppo Blu-ray player, Apple TV4k, and even HD on directv. The only “gripe” I have is the sensor for the remote was placed in an awful location on the tv frame and if you’re not pointed directly at it it won’t work. Right out the box this tv is stunning on cinema home setting. I’ll have my set professionally calibrated once I hit 200 hours of use.
