The 4K HDR processor delivers sharp and detailed images, while the TRILUMINOS PRO technology produces a wide range of colors. The Google TV platform is intuitive and easy to use, with a wide selection of streaming apps. However, the TV's refresh rate is only 60Hz, which can make fast-paced motion look blurry. And while the contrast is good, it's not as good as some higher-end models. Overall, the Sony X80K is a great option for budget-minded shoppers who want a good quality 4K TV. Here are some of the pros and cons of the Sony X80K: Pros: * Excellent picture quality * User-friendly smart platform * Wide range of streaming apps Cons: * Only 60Hz refresh rate * Contrast could be better I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for a good quality 4K TV that won't break the bank. Our Motionflow XR refresh rate technology keeps movement smooth and clear, allowing fast moving action sequences in sports and movies to be seen with lifelike clarity which results in less motion blur and afterimage, more flowing motion. Some models also include black-frame insertion for a blur-free and truly cinematic look.
As a suggestion, you can configure various settings related to the TV display such as motionflow and cinemotion settings for picture quality to smooth out any content.
Press the (Quick Settings) button on the remote control, and select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Picture] — [Motion] — select [Motionflow] or [Cinemotion]

Excellent Television

Excellent picture, easy setup, and very convenient to have my streaming apps at my fingertips. Bluetooth working with my existing earbuds was a bonus. Sound is good but a sound bar helps. Definitely Recommended!

An above average TV

Especially the color: there's too much yellow in it. I always use custom so that I can reduce color to about 43%, then I can really appreciate the Sony TV. The brightness is good but you have to increase the gamma value. The sound quality is better than some other TVs but not the best. You get what you paid for.

Fabulous picture mediocre connectivity options

I bought this for my 70-year old parents and they v\can both use it with ease. My only issue is with the lack of RCA connections in the back. Relying solely on HDMI and optical severely hampers connectivity with a LOT of components still in use.

Not a sturdy tv

I purchased this TV 11 months ago and already has dark cloudy spots, I call Sony to see if they could fix the problem, and they find every excuse not to fix or replace their junk!!! I would not recommend this TV at all!!!

We're glad that you like the picture quality of the TV. It's unfortunate that the TV screen is not performing to your expectations.
The LCD screen is made with high-precision technology to achieve a high level of performance and picture quality. To achieve this level of performance, the backlight setting of the TV is set to maximize the screen brightness. However, you may notice uneven brightness on the TV when watching in a dark environment or when the screen is blank. This condition is normal and not a malfunction of the TV.
If you should find this affects your enjoyment, here are few adjustments that you can do to minimize this condition.
Note: Some TVs may not have some of the procedures below. If model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps, refer to your TV's manual (https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/jusltn1/v1/en-003/index.html).
-Reduce the Backlight Level in the Picture Settings menu.
-Turn the Light Sensor setting to On in the Setup menu.
-Change the Power Saving setting to Low or High in the Setup menu.
-Set the Picture Mode to Standard in the Settings menu.

Outstanding entry level Sony TV

Yes, it is more expensive than other brands but the quality of this product is outstanding. I have 3 Sony TV’s. 1 is from 12+ years ago (40”), 1 is from 4 years ago (75”) and this one (65”) which I bought couple of weeks ago. All 3 TV's still work like brand new. Anyways, best parts of this TV are – (1) Colors are perfect - no tweaking necessary, they are perfect for me out of box (2) Motion is superb. No jittering or lag (3) I cannot comment on the sound as i have connected to Bose Home theater system. Bose does its work and no match for it (4) TV remote is small and cute. I wish it had backlighting but can’t ask a lot for entry level TV (5) Android OS – super fast. Bad- Screen surface is very reflective. So, if you are in a bright room – this TV is not for you. Overall great TV, I highly recommend it

Obviously it’s not QLED or Mini Led but it looks great and I saved $300-$400 by not going with the least expensive QLED 65” option and no burnin problems. I shopped around quite a bit and this was definitely the best option in this price range.
