Today I turned on my TV to find a white line across the TV horizontally! It's only warranted for one year. I was told by Sony that there is something wrong with the panel and it's not covered for repair and that I would have to buy a new TV! $1000 wasted on a TV that didn't even last two years! Buyers you've been warned!!!

Decent and Reliable TV from Sony

The price is high compared to its features. The black levels are not as great and the picture brightens even in full power mode is just average. The reason I went with Sony is due to others informing me about its reliability and built in Google TV.

I would advise against it

Sony is not honoring the warranty claiming I have dust in the screen. I have always had great luck with LG or Samsung, I should have stayed with them. My advice would be not to gamble on this one as they are not in the least concerned with customer relations or issues.

This Sony has let me down twice

Best Buy exchanged it and the replacement only lasted long enough for the warranty to be over by two weeks. Very disappointing.

Perfect mid-range tv, long as the price is right

Returned it and hung my old one back up on the wall. Months later saw this on sale and had all the features I wanted - TRUE 120hz, VRR among others. So I bought the 65" and sure enough, same exact tv as the one I got damaged. Literally the same model number just smaller. Anyway, solid TV. Considering what I paid, very happy with the purchase. I would have gone with the 85" but for a grand more it didnt seem sensible to spend 2x as much for 10" difference on either side. Gotta admit though the 85 was absolutely massive!!!! Used to sell TVs and other electronics back in the day, plus Im a huge tech nerd. If you can get this at a good price, jump on it. Looked at all the TVs, even online - far as specs go, this thing nails it. Although most importantly, how does it look to you? Its going on your wall not mine. With my living room dark or bright, looks phenomenal. Only complaint which makes zero sense... Why is it that the onboard ethernet is 100mbps? Couldnt they have shoveled another 25 cents during production and installed at least a gig chip? Couldnt tell ya the last place I seen a 100mbps ethernet in todays tech world. Unfortunately with that being said, unless your using wireless (which i dont prefer) your most likely gonna want to use a external player with at least a gig. Ps4/5, that sort of thing. Picture will look significantly better. Just seems silly, buy the best tv in their lineup and theyre still shipping em with 100mbps ethernets? Laptops are getting close to 2.5gbps standard, just dont make sense. Anywho, shes a solid beast. Plus it uses googleTV which is similar to droids - you can add 3rd party apps to the tv. Id buy another for my bedroom if I actually used the tv in there more.

An amazing TV, with too many ifs

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The TV itself is amazing in almost every way....although, I noticed when utilizing VRR there is noticeable color banding at a 5% greyscale. I noticed this in several apps and on my PS5. The issues were not present when I first tested it and it seems to be less noticeable when VRR is not enabled...although still present. This is my 3rd attempt with this TV. The first one had almost 50 dead pixels and the second had terrible color banding from 0-20% and was noticeable in almost every color. With this set, I ran tests right out of the box and it was almost perfect...maybe one dead pixel but, I understand that happens. Then, as I was playing RE4 on my PS5 with VRR enabled and the appropriate graphics settings, I noticed some serious color-banding in certain scenes and it almost looked like I could see the LEDs in the bottom right corner. This just happened yesterday after only owning the TV for 1 month. I love this TV but, wow....I previously owned a Samsung TU7000 65" and did not have any problems with it until recently after owning it for 3 years. This has only been a month and so many headaches...I want to love this TV but, so many ifs.

I don’t recommend buying this tv if your sole purpose is to play games on it. But the picture and the ammount of settings it has available are boarderline insane. And not to mention the speakers are so good i dont think ill ever get a soundbar or surround sound system for it simply because it doesnt need one

I just wanted eArc, 120 Hz, and Atmos pass through. In the store i thought the picture was better than more expensive sony models. The tv seems thicker (depth of the box) compared to others. Be aware the mounting bolts are not centered vertically if your going to mount it on an existing wall mount, they're about 3 inches lower. Otherwise no regrets.

Picture quality is amazing, sound quality is wonderful, and the user interface is very easy to learn and navigate. You can tailor it to whatever your personal preferences are. It will show recommended YouTube videos for you on the home page and also movies that are live on the free tv application. It shows movie and tv recommendations based on your previous watched content. I use it mostly for gaming and the games have never looked better. The refresh rate helps tremendously and I never feel like I’m getting any input lag. The only problem is every hour or so it will disconnect from the WiFi and reconnect, interrupting the movie or show I’m watching, but the tv isn’t close to the router and will probably be fixed when I am hooked up to Ethernet. I love this tv and get excited when I get home and use it!

The Google TV aspect of it works really well, much better than my previous TV with a Fire Stick. I'm a big Alexa fan though having the TV on that platform often caused conflicts with the adjacent Echo Studio. So it makes sense and works very well to have the TV on a different more streamlined platform like Google TV, as much as I do not like the Google Home devices for their complexity and lack of user friendliness. In contrast the Google TV system works like a charm! Highly recommend.
