Easy to get streaming since it has a good selection of apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney, etc. The remote control is cheap and is not backlit so it is difficult to use in low lighting.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was looking to upgrade from my 2015 Samsung k7500 and after looking at several Sony TV’s I was just getting ready to purchase the Sony 85j when I reached the store and they said they didn’t have any and it would be delivered 5 days later… but after talking with the sales associate he was like are you buying it for a PS5 and I was like yep he said why not spend $100 more and grab this year version and I did… I am happy to say his recommendation was great… I enjoy playing both my PS5 & Series X on this TV plus the extra bells and whistles that came along… If you are looking for a nice upgrade with great quality picture this is the TV to pickup…

Spend a little more for the X85K (120 MHZ) which is excellent if you do any gaming. It replaced a ten year old 60' set which still just doing just fine in my upstairs loft.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This TV looks excellent, incredibly superior to our previous TV, and this is the max size that one can actually carry out of the store and setup with one person and a kid, without having to do delivery and needing two adults, so it came with minimal hassle. The Google TV aspect of it works really well, much better than my previous TV with a Fire Stick. I'm a big Alexa fan though having the TV on that platform often caused conflicts with the adjacent Echo Studio. So it makes sense and works very well to have the TV on a different more streamlined platform like Google TV, as much as I do not like the Google Home devices for their complexity and lack of user friendliness. In contrast the Google TV system works like a charm! Highly recommend.

Great mid-level tv after adjusting

While other TVs may beat this tv in any one area, Sony has put an overall package together that works. It has a good panel, good software, good controls, good motion processing, good inputs. Not best in every area, but overall strong package. From a picture perspective, it has a high level of contrast and good black levels. it does not have local dimming, but a lot of mid level local dimming zones are so big that local dimming can look worse than an evenly lit panel and that is the case here. I actually prefer the look of this panel to a lot of the mid-range locally dimmed models. Colors out of the box are just "ok" but Sony offers a lot of adjustment options. Adjusting gamma and black level processing makes a huge difference in the picture 'pop' and this TV looks quite good. The panel is bright, colors are natural and pleasing, and Sony's motion handling is very good. Sony is also using Google TV OS which is a step up from Android TV. Speakers are barely adequate but consistent with TVs in this price range. Off-axis viewing is not great, so beware of that. TV looks good in bright rooms and reflections are handled well on its matte screen. Overall - happy with this at an on-sale price.
