Almost bought a Samsung Q70. Helpful staff said the Sony X950 processor was better at up-Rez 2k to 4K. He was correct. Love the picture. Perfect. (For what it’s worth I’m a retired video editor).

Hi Bachman53, We are glad that you took the advice of the staff and chose the X950H instead. Your X950H’s Full Array Local Dimming and Boosting technology provides a dramatic increase in contrast and brightness from anywhere in the room. The X1 Ultimate Processor, Sony’s best processor to date, delivers a picture with ultimate realism and upscale everything you watch to near-4K HDR. Watching TV from the sides is now as satisfying as from the center. Sony's original optical design to control light from the back light, the X-Wide Angle panel ensures colors stay true from wherever you're watching. We hope you will also notice the upgraded responsiveness of the smart Android TV platform that allows apps to open up to 3x faster. Thank you for choosing Sony! -Vincent Sony_US

Totally awesome TV. Outside of true OLED, this TV gives the best contrast in its class. Gaming is still really good on this TV for the current generation, but you’ll probably have to upgrade in a few years when 120fps and 8k+ become the norm.

So far the TV is as advertised. Out of the box the picture is very good, it is the right size for over the fireplace and adapted well to all of our present Samsung components. I still haven't put it through all of the paces though.

Tv worked . The tv is t what I was told it was . I bought it for a bedroom tv . The amount of blooming drove me nuts. After a week I decided to over look that cause it had good color . After that week it kept losing sound . I had to unplug it to get the sound back on . After the 3rd time I decide this shouldn’t be a thing on a supposedly high tier tv. Returned bought a q90. Why I gave sony a try ? I don’t know . Samsung hasn’t let me down yet . Was told the Sony was better. I for o e didn’t see it . I hope I got a dud . If not Sony needs to catch up .

We bought this model Vs buying OLE so far don’t regret.Suppot from bestbuy team five stars. When we unpacked items we found screen was already damaged .We flowed exact instructions never touched screen during just opening box.within hr of purchase we asked for other replacement .During return best buy team done their inspection after that they gave us another TV. I would say new buyer please get your package inspected before you load in your Vehicle.Overall tv is good it works well with Sony soundbar. I am giving four stars for quality since TV screen was cracked already.I think Sony can do better job in design to give some hardware to install on wall .Now I am trying to figure out how to install on wall such big TV.I suggest Sony team to provide some clips/clams on side to ease of installation .

I must say, having owned Samsung QLED TVs for years, this Sony X950H put those to shame. I absolutely loved this TV. I say "loved" because I have encountered some problems with this TV that I've never encountered before on any TV I've owned before (Vizio, Samsung, even TCL...). The problem? I found 12 dead pixels on the screen within the first 2 weeks of ownership. Not 1 or 3, but 12.. It was beyond shocking for me to find those. There's a few in the center of the screen, and the rest are scattered around the screen. Not only the dead pixels, but the eARC port seems to cut out for split seconds at a time. It doesn't matter what I'm watching or the media source (every TV APP, 4K blu-ray player, XBOX One X, etc.) when ran through the TV, the audio will cut out every few minutes for a split second. Almost like a scratch on a record. Running signals through my soundbar, and then to the TV solves the problem, but if I'm watching anything on the TV APPS (VUDU, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Google Play, Disney+, etc.) and am using the ARC/eARC port to send audio to my soundbar, the audio will drop/scratch out every few minutes. Very annoying. I have never had either of those issues on any of my previous TVs (yes, even my 3 or 4 yr old Vizio)... Needless to say, I'll be returning the TV, and I'm not sure if I'll give it another chance.. Which is sad because I really like this TV. The picture quality was simply amazing! Loved it. But, if I'm already having pixels go out, and the eARC port is already having issues, I'm scared of what'll happen in the future. I don't spend $1,700 on a TV to inherit problems or dead pixels. I would expect a TV of this price to be near flawless. Especially when it's coming from Sony. I suppose we will see what other options are out there! Thanks for reading!

      Hi Andrew,

Thank you for choosing and purchasing Sony X950H Bravia LED Ultra HD TV.

We regret to hear about the issues you are having with your TV. This is not usually the case with our premium TVs. If you still have the TV, you may consider our suggestions to isolate and hopefully resolve these issues. Regarding the pixel concern, high-precision technology is used to manufacture LCD and OLED displays to maintain a high standard of operation. However, with all LCD/OLED screens, regardless of manufacturer, there may be a small number of dots that do not change color. You may visit this link for more details about it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00026287.

To isolate the issue with the eARC port, make sure to use a high-speed HDMI cable. Updating the firmware of the TV will also improve the performance of the TV and resolve any software-related issues.
