Close to perfection

Replacing an OLED65C6 that has had 3 panels replaced(LG did pay for 1). Went with Nano90 first, what a mistake( see my review). This TV is as close to OLED as I have seen out of an lcd/led backlit tv right out of the box. Best thing is I don’t have to worry about the little yellow triangle from ESPN bottom line or the 5 from my local news burned into the screen after 6 months of use. Thank you Sony!! The side by side comparison was very close in my opinion. OLED tech is hard to beat but this tv comes close

I have it hooked up to s cable box, Xbox s, Apple 4k and its amazing I've always been a fan of Sony. One ask is to work 9n improving the menu and set up options.

Awesome Sony 950 TV

I like it for sports. I can't say for gaming as I don't do that. My wife didn't want a TV, but once we got it, she loves it. The sound didn't optimize correctly, but it sounds good. I can't sink it up with the Verizon remote so we have to turn it on with the TV remote and work the dvr with the verizon remote. The installer from Best Buy said the Verizon remote must be broken, but it worked with our old TV, but that TV broke. We have a 75 inch version in our living room and this is a 65 inch in our bedroom. The living model is a year younger, but it is still great as well and its remote does work with cable.

Games and TV/movies look great on it. I upgraded from a 10+ year old HD projection TV, so I can't give a detailed opinion compared to other modern TVs, though. The screen is relatively reflective, and has a rainbow effect in the reflection, so if you're in a bright room and there's a very dark scene, you can see reflected light and some rainbows across the screen. Android TV is convenient for getting different content, especially with the voice control for search and text entry, but the homepage updated to include ads for TV shows on services I don't have. I uninstalled the home page app update and turned off automatic updates to fix it, but there's a chance they will override that fix somehow in the future. Chromecast functionality is very convenient, but only when it works. It does not have the same capabilities as a normal Chromecast, and sometimes is not visible or does not accept the stream when it is. There are so many other models from Sony and other good brands, I likely could have spent less and gotten similar picture quality, but I'm still happy with my purchase.

Great Picture and Functionality

The picture is fantastic, looking good in both light and dark settings. Good refresh rate, clear and vibrant colors, and decent black level. The processor is a big step up from our previous TV, and we have had no issues with streaming or using Sony's good collection of available apps. The only recommendation I would make is using a sound bar with this set, although some of that could be the boost we get from a Bose we already owned. Overall, I would highly recommend this TV and I believe it is probably the best (or one of the best) you can get without moving up to the ultra high price ranges.

Walked around all the brands and displays, and narrowed my choices to the Samsung and the Sony. Just maybe, the Samsung had brighter colors, but the Sony was as realistic and true as I could find.

Absolutely gorgeous

Knowing that the biggest size I could get was 65 inches, I had my eye set on this TV, based upon the reviews of last year’s model. An absolutely gorgeous picture. Finally got a chance to watch a few 4K Blu-rays I had picked up recently, like “Apocalypse Now “ and “2001”... the picture quality was amazing. Even regular cable looks a lot better than on my previous Sony TV . This set is worth every dime . Only downside is that the HDMI inputs are too close together. One input now has a picture but no sound. It might be my fault, as I had a problem inserting the HDMI cable and may have damaged the input.

Great TV. Get A Protection Plan

And the processor makes things run smoothly and look fantastic. The Dolby Vision through Apple TV looks great. All devices instantly recognized by the set and the remote seems to work all of them. The remote handles everything. Switching through streaming apps, scrolling through YouTube, volume, etc.. Intuitive screen guide for settings. The color is great out of the box. Switch the external inputs to Enhanced Format in settings. Default is standard. This TV replaces a Sony X900E 55” purchased in 2017. Fortunately I purchased the 5 year protection plan on that. Sony won’t replace panels so I was issued a full refund in store credit. I HIGHLY recommend getting the 5 year plan.

Was planning to get the best tv possible and affordable and I am very glad I made this choice. The sound, colors and everything else is brilliant and I didn’t want to settle with anything as Sony is what I have been using for years.
