Sony is KING again. The black levels on this tv are amazing. The color and the Brightness are amazing. Android tv OS is slow needs improvement. You learn to ignore it. OLED Tvs are just plain expensive compared to this TV.

Bottom Line: Best 75" SHD 3D TV for the money. Important Note 1: Do NOT try to use ARC with this TV. I don't know why, but attempting to use ARC with my new (and expensive) DENON receiver made the TV act weird. It would reboot and not come back up. Important Note 2: Purchase at least a 2-year in-home svc agreement. Ok, with that out of the way, I must also tell you that our first one broke the first night (not clear why), but the manager of TV sales in Murrieta, CA not only replaced it fairly quickly, he included special Geek Squad service as well to get the new one up and going ASAP. While I was steamed at first, it helped that he worked hard to fix it. After nearly a year of research and comparing, it came down to LG OLED vs Sony 940D. The Sony is the winner mainly because it was affordably available in the 75" class, but also it is able to achieve deep blacks that are second only to the OLED. The 3D capability is AMAZING, especially considering you are watching standard HD, it looks fabulous. My biggest question: How well will it work to upscale my significant library of 1080 HD movies? The answer is: Magnificently. No artefacts, no pixilation, no blurriness, nothing. Just beautiful. With Apple TV: Upscaling makes watching our favorite series on HBO Go just stunning. Beautiful picture, more clear and detailed than ever. With 4k movies: as expected. To be completely honest, in my opinion, most of the 4k movies are awesome, but not very much better than the up-scaled 1080 movies. Again, my opinion... or Sony just does a bang-up job of upscaling. With DirecTV shows: Really good, movies are fun to watch. With Football on DIRECTV: Pretty darn good! I actually am watching DirecTV using the "GAME" preset on the TV, and I am very impressed. Can't wait til games are broadcast in 4k. I ended up buying a XBOX 1-S to view 4k content, and playing games on this TV is a lot of fun. I will still end up buying an OLED in the future, but for my main/living room TV, with size being the main consideration, this TV was a winner. I feel I made the correct choice.

I was a bit skeptical at first about buying a large tv but now that I have it mounted in my living room...wow! Its the perfect fit and the colors are amazing-my favorite part! Would definitely recommend!

Researched for months, looking to go from a 60 inch to a 75 inch. Full array, local dimming, sony brand. Can't go wrong, very pleased. 4K is awesome, feel like i am at the theatre..purchased as an open box.

Great picture. I could not ask for blacker blacks. The only reason for the 4 is the sound could be a little better although it does offer several available settings and adjustments. A lot of adjustments for both picture and sound.

Let me start off by saying I have always purchased Samsung and LG until this television. I wanted a 75 inch or larger television that did not pixelate and had back lit LEDs. This television delivers. I was on the fence about Samsung 9800 78in and Sony Z9 but after reading several reviews and testing the various models for 3 months I went with this TV and couldn't be happier. I recommend this television and to get the best quality picture, watch Blueray or 4k content.

After returning an Oled, this tv is a homerun. The lg lacked the Sony horespower for upscaling content and oversll quality control of this tv. Zero motion blur,deep blacks and ten inches bigger!

This Tv replaced an old Toshiba 65inch set, one of the first HDTV sets. Best Buy has been great to deal with so far with their salesmen to the delivery people. We are waiting to have it calibrated in a couple of weeks as some colors are off presently but still very happy. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. With our satellite dish we cannot get our local stations in HDTV but still the picture is much better on our local channels than our old set was.

Do the research this is an amazing TV for the size and price point. Sony has a leading edge market compared to LG in this size TV. Interface is easy using an Android operating system, mailing download of apps very simple. Picture is deep and full of life that deep blacks compare to OLED at a reduced cost. I have this paired with the NT-5 sound bar which is the perfect match. I am so in love with this TV and it fills the wall so well!!!! If you are looking for the perfect TV for a home theater, look no more!

The picture on this TV is fantastic, unlike anything I've seen before. It upscales regular HD to 4K. Unbelievable, but it truly does.

Wanted to get something large that was 4k. Compared mostly within the Sony brand since we've always been happy with Sony's. The main compare came down to the 75" 850 vs this 940 which was about double the price. In the end, the clarity of the 940 was just so much better, we decided to go for the longer term investment. Couldn't be happier. Bought a Sony 1070 4k receiver to go with it and an Xbox One S just for the 4k blue ray player. Everything runs thru the receiver flawlessly. Only complaint now is having to use the xbox game controller for managing the blue ray and 3d movies, but thats not a sony issue. wish i only needed one remote too.

Great TV picture and functionality. Nice Sony remote. Nice access to Netflix etc. However very disappointed in the compatibility of the Sony TV and Sony 7.1 sound bar (I decided to buy Sony TV and sound so they would be compatible and was told with ARC they would be. The Geek squad, Comcast nor I could get it to work. The advertised ARC worked initially and when the TV was turned off and back on it did not work. Furthermore the Comcast / X1 XFinity remote would not pair with the TV or the sound bar. None of the codes worked and none of the help folks could make it work. Maybe there is a code for the TV and sound bar that is not known by these experts. With my 4K DVD I now need 4 remotes to operate the TV system.

You will not find a better picture in this price range. Deep blacks and great motion. Just watched the Superbowl last night and it was perfect. Also great for movies.

This is my first 4K TV and I am excited to watch movies on my 4K Blue Ray player. YouTube offers 4K and Direct TV offers 3 channels. This is the best TV for the money.

Researched several TVs in 70+ size class before purchasing. Picture is fantastic. First 4K TV. Actually bought two for two different parts of the house. No regrets!

I purchased this top line Sony TV about 1 mo. Ago as it was on sale at Best Buy. The picture on this TV is fantastic, possibly the best I've ever seen. The sound quality is average at best, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. At this price point, I would expect a lot better sound than what this TV gives. However, overall I'm happy with the purchase as the quality of the picture is top flight.

This tv has great picture quality, color and sharpness is outstanding. The built in speakers are amazing for a tv.

I absolutely love my Sony 940D! I've been researching 4K's for a while and was torn. I was really into the OLED but there are some issues with gaming lag and "burn-in" that I was not willing to gamble with. I finally decided on this TV due to the picture being the closest to the OLED quality that I've found. I picked this one up on an "open box" deal and couldn't be happier. The android OS is a dream. Best OS for a smart TV period! Highly recommended!

Very pleased with this purchase. Spectacular picture, upscale HD very well, integrates very easily with the other components in our HT system.

Makes watching enjoyable, easy to use, love the way it looks on the wall. The size was not overpowering to the room. A great pick on my part.
