When we first turned on the tv I was surprised that it didn't look as well as I expected. I tried to use the menu settings to adjust it to get it to where I expected, but nothing seemed to help. Eventually I reset everything back to the default settings and just sat back and watched tv. Surprisingly the next day the tv looked GREAT! All I can figure out is that it needed to "burn in" for a while and eventually settled in and since then I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It is everything I hoped for and certainly worth the cost.

I know it is costly but amazing picture! A very clean look to the television itself. Easy to set up and use. We are in love with the picture.

I upgraded from a 7 year old, 60" Sharp LCD. I used to think that had a great picture, but now it looks washed out. The blacks on this Sony match the bezel and make it disappear. Standard setting make indoor images too dark for me. I adjusted the gamma setting to +1, contrast down to 95. 4k through Netflix and Amazon look great. Tried the 3D with Avatar and the Sony TDG-BT500A Active glasses and found it very good, no fllicker, no dimming, like some have reported. Waited to purchace.when it went on sale.

We had a 61 inch TV for 16 years (the big 4 X 3 boxy type on wheels) that was a major investment when we purchased it all those years ago. It served us valiantly, but we needed to look for our next long term investment and this Sony was the one. Even though we saw it up close in the store, upon delivery it was shocking just how thin it is. It's also a plus that all the trim is black and not silver. Setup is next to nothing and even when we used a bluray disc to calibrate the HD settings, almost every one was already at the correct setting (this was the intermediate level; when we have the energy we'll see about the advanced level). Sound is OK, but we've never come across a TV with amazing sound; we have a Bose system for that. We happily expect to keep this major investment for many years to come.

This is a great TV that has been a pleasure to use and enjoy. I love watching sports on it as it is crystal clear and bright!

Went in to buy a TV and my hubby (of course) falls in love with this TV. It is very nice with perfect color, sharpest image and when TV is off - it's the blackest screen. Make sure you have a very good quality hdmi cable and also the best pic quality is watching thru netflix. (streaming) As your network provider more than likely is not up to the standard of this TV yet - most of the daily shows watched will not be 4K. Im sure that'll be the next "package" that verizon (and other companies) will up charge us for in order to watch our own TVs!

Spent a lot of time researching the various 75" screens available, went with the Sony, cant beat the picture quality and technology in this price category. Originally was looking at the Sony 850 but after looking at the 940 and 850 side by side, the full back light on the 940 was worth the few hundred more. Picture quality is as close as you can get to OLED at a fraction of the cost.

Love this television! It goes from bright white to pure black making the picture perfect. Absolutely vivid colors too!

We have been loving our new 4K tv. I did not have an interest in purchasing a 4K tv until my husband took me into the store and I saw the quality of the picture. He had been talking about going 4K for about 6 months. The demo was showing the Vegas strip and it felt like I was looking out a window. I was sold right there. We've had it for a week now and tv shows, animation and gaming looks amazing. If you're looking for a great quality 4K tv, I l highly recommend this tv.

Visually stunning as far as I am concerned. I can't see paying $8,000 for any t.v. when one like this costs so much less. Every movie I've watched on this screen looks great. I also have my PS5 connected to this t.v. as well. To get the best out of your gaming, you need a quality t.v. screen to view it on. I am very happy with this Sony. I believe you will be too.

I went back and forth between the 940D and 850D for a few days before finally pulling the trigger on the 940. Why pay over 1k extra for a tv that's seems virtually identical? Both tv's are excellent and in my opinion superior to their comparable rivals. What it came down to for me was, the 940 has LED backlighting vice edge lighting, superior HDR technology, and 3D capable unlike the 850. Now if only there was more 4K content to enjoy... hurry up Please!

Difficult decision to replace our beloved 73 Mit. DLP but it was staring to get glitchy. Lots of research and hours looking at different TVs led to this beauty. Incredible picture, AMAZING 3D which is a bonus as we have many 3D movies. See it for yourself.

Amazing picture, Android smart portion actually works well, blacks are extremely rich, colors are amazing.

I purchased the Sony 75in 940D. I've been very happy with this purchase. I read a number of reviews before purchasing and I would agree with those that found the TV worth purchasing. Very bright picture, colors are vivid. Picture is equally good with cable tv, streaming and bluray. I don't see any issues with dead pixels or edge problems or any of the other issues mentioned in other reviews. No regrets so far since purchasing a couple of months ago.

I researched this TV for months before buying. 120Hz, full backlit LED array. What I found interesting is that the OLED TV's claim to fame are blacker blacks. What do I care about blacks ? I want vibrant color on my screen. This set is slightly better on colors than the OLED models. 4K and every option I could ever want. I love this TV!! Highly recommend it.

Awesome picture and attractive unit. One drawback is I have is that it is mounted on a corner with a skylight a few feet in front of it and the screen has a terrible glare. Also at night bad glare from lights in living room. Never noticed the glare with my 10 year old Sony Bravia XBR-4. The other other drawback is a pretty universal problem with all new sets. YOU WILL NEED A SOUNDBAR! Do not expect even acceptable sound from this unit because it's awful. The rep warned me and had to see for myself. My old set had huge speakers aimed right at you. If you have a dark room and have a soundbar you'll LOVE this Television

Great picture and so easy to learn. I'm floored by all of the options and the quality is amazing.
