    Connectivity issues with Sony soundbar

    Stand alone this is a great tv with a gorgeous picture and the OS works flawlessly. The problem begins when you try and pair this tv with a high priced Sony soundbar. I spent a significant amount to install this tv in my home along with the HT-A5000 soundbar hoping for a seamless operation of products built and advertised to work seamlessly together. There is a problem with many of these higher end sony tv and the soundbar. When using the tv center channel speaker function there is a significant hissing sound when you connect the audio cable to the tv. Sonys answer to this issue is to send out a repair person to replace the motherboard which did fix the issue, however other issues began immediately following the new board as I lost the ability to update the system software after that. who wants to spend that kind of money on a tv/home theater to have to have it immediately opened up and parts replaced to work properly? I saw nothing about this issue while researching this tv purchase but after the problem arose it seems to be a very common problem once I looked into it. I’ll be researching now for a brand to replace this combo with now.

      Thank you for the review. We do apologize for the inconvenience and we understand your concern. Your firmware may already be up to date, especially if you have the soundbar repaired. If the version number is 1.378 or higher, you do not need to update. If you're not sure, it's easy to check which version of firmware you have. Check this link for more details.

    This tv is a beaut! Quality is amazing and the image is always super crisp. The functionality of it is super nice, always connects to my PS5 and Xbox super easily and there isn’t any trouble with that at all. The ONLY complaint I have is that the remote feels/looks a little cheap but that’s super minor.

    I bought this TV after much consideration and after resisting the significant price hike of going OLED. I dont regret the decision at all. The picture is crisp and Android TV was something I fell in love with after owning an Nvidia Shield. This was a great buy and I would do it again.

    I HATE this tv. The picture is gorgeous but when it is constantly dropping the Wi-Fi signal and interrupting shows, movies, etc. how can you even tell? it is extremely frustrating. We have other brands of televisions in rooms much further away from our router that we have never had issues with. Even the tv that we had in this spot previously never had this issue. Have you ever started watching a live sporting event and your tv has disconnected so many times that you are just starting the 2nd quarter while everyone else is watching the halftime show you are so far behind?! I can promise you, it’s pretty infuriating. I basically paid $1,600 for a high quality picture of an error screen to hang on my wall.
