Only rated it 4 stars because like all LED's, the picture really washes out when viewing from an angle. I feel that enough time has pass for TV makers to improve on that. If you are planning on viewing it directly front on, then this is the TV for you.

An Awesome TV

I had been wanting to upgrade my cheap black Friday tv that I had purchased as it was very slow and I figured it'd be nice to have a bigger TV for guests. As soon as I booted up the TV I noticed how smooth it operated, and how vibrant the colors were. It has all of the features that a smart TV should have and has multiple connections. It's compatible with the PS5 meaning that the refresh rate is 120htz and while I don;t have a PS5, I can hook up my other consoles to enjoy gaming. I opted out of buying a soundbar as I figured I'd test the volume first to see if it was needed and the volume is more than loud for me. A sound bar will make the sound much more clearer but for now, I'm good with using the just the TV. I purchased this TV at a discount and I'm very glad that I finally made the upgrade. Sony really does know how to make TV's.

Steal of a Deal!

Sony's color and crisp lines makes watching practically anything on this screen impressive. I've mostly been enjoying football on it, but I watched an action film the other night and I noticed the quality of the picture. I didn't like that I was required to set up a Google TV account, and I have to select my account every time I turn the TV on, but it's a small pain for the value and price.

Easy to set up and connected right up to my Sony receiver for surround sound: The menu is easy to use. Need to figure out how to remove unwanted apps.

Some of the pre-installed applications can't be deleted. Follow the steps provided to remove or uninstall an app on your Android TV or Google TV:
On the supplied remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button.
Select Settings.
Select Apps
Select See all apps → Select an app to be deleted → Uninstall.

Browsed at other brands but with the knowledge of Sony’s quality only wanted to be convinced of the model to choose. The Best Buy agent was unapologetic in his answer when I asked him which is the best TV to buy. He quickly took me to the Sony models fitting my interest and with his sound knowledge and demonstrations convinced me to select a model just above the one I was considering. This X90L blew the others out of the water. Samsung, LG etc. The picture quality and brightness stood out. So was the viewing angle, What is also great is Sony’s durability so there is no worry about the colour and brightness eg. fading any time soon. Fantastic product. No issues so far and I just keep admiring and enjoying this model. Would recommend this product without a second thought. You won’t be disappointed in any way!

The best value per dollar premium TV available

From a strictly performance perspective this TV has a superior picture and image processing to the Samsung 85C series along with Dolby Vision support which all Samsung TV's lack. This is one of the very few 75" VA panels available by any manufacturer. The competitors are all using ADS panels which offer an inferior contrast level from both a technical perspective as well as in real world performance. The black levels on this TV are as close to OLED as I've seen on an LED screen while having a high brightness rating. After viewing and researching more than a dozen TV's the Sony 75X90L is a clear winner in the premium 75" market even again more expensive options from various competitors.

Colors out of the box are incredible and very little adjustments are needed. Turn Motion off if you don't want the soap opera effect. Sony is the best for natural colors and upscaling. Older movies like Scarface look excellent on this TV. Watching sports is also excellent with no jittering. I would recommend a soundbar or AVR with speakers for the full viewing experience. The only things I wish it had was App control like the newer Bravias and a backlight remote.

Really sharp, deep blacks, amazing color. Motion is fantastic. Has the features I was looking for - VRR and ALLM - at 75 inches. I got the TV on sale for $1499 which is a great deal for a TV of this quality and feature set (across the board, at various rating sites, it's rated high - generally 8.5+ out of 10 - and for good reason). I really only have 1 complaint about the television. There are 4 HDMI ports, however only 2 of them are HDMI 2.1. That means that VRR/ALLM only function on HDMI 3 and 4. That wouldn't be such an issue if HDMI 3 wasn't also the Arc/eArc port. This isn't a huge issue for me because I have an HDMI 2.1 Onkyo A/V receiver that all my equipment runs through so I am able to make the 2 HDMI 2.1 ports work with no issue. However, if you were to run a soundbar out of HDMI 3 for Arc/eArc, you would only be left with HDMI 4 for any devices that could utilize VRR and ALLM (so if you had a PS5 and an XBox S/X, for example, you could only run one of them with those features). I understand many TVs have this issue - LG is about the only brand I for sure know of that gives you 4 full HDMI 2.1 ports - but this is Sony and I would hold them to a higher standard than that. In any case, this doesn't affect me, but it might affect you so be aware of this limitation. Outside of that one design flaw, this TV is about as perfect as they come. No complaints, 5 stars!

Amazing, true, realistic picture as always with SONY. Such a better picture than the other brands. Does not dim when watching apps. Crystal clear picture and suprisingly good aduio. Paired seamlessly with my 10 year old SONY sound bar and sub. Easy access to back panel connections when wall mounted

I have a 47" flat screen Sony in my bedroom that I bought from Best Buy display model in 2006 for 2300$. It still works perfectly and has an amazing picture to this day. You do pay a little more for Sony but they do make a quality product

BANG FOR BUCK

Google OS is missing a few apps but has most apps you're looking for. Highly recommended for the price, can't find a better deal in this price range, next best thing is going for LG OLED.

My old 2019 TCL 6 Series was much better in that regard. Not enough local dimming zones which means you will see some blooming. It's not bad though. Sound quality is not that good. Get a sound bar. Pros: brightness is excellent. Colors are accurate. Processing of certain 1080p media is amazing. When the TV detects media playback, it uses its local blooming which means black levels are pretty good. It's a great overall TV when calibrated. Not as bright as its competition, but you get accuracy in return.

There is some light bleed that is noticable when the picture but backlighting is off. This does not present when the picture is active. I enjoy the quick settings menu/functions and wish more manufacturers would implement this feature. I utilize the picture off more then anticipated for listening to music/audio books. Overall great purchase.

We've had cheaper brands for quite some time and we were ready to upgrade. The picture quality and the functionality of this TV are much better than our inexpensive LG, Visio, and Roku TVS.
