I already owned the Sony 950H (last year's model) and decided to go with this tv. I am glad I did. After owning an LG OLED that had severe burn in, I am happy I found something that is similar to OLED quality picture. I don't want to worry about the burn in issue of OLED, and this is close to OLED! Great purchase and product!

Fantastic picture!

The blacks are blacker, the colors are brighter. The sound is pretty good, but built in speakers will never compare to sound bars or surround sound set ups. Simple set up. We were up and running in just a few minutes. I'm not seeing any color variation at the corners like others have reported. Would definitely purchase again.

This replaced an OLED in a room that was just too bright. In seeking the ultimate bright room TV however, I exchanged this for a Samsung QN90A. In the end it's splitting hairs for my purpose. I do enjoy the Sony interface more than the Samsung. Zero gaming use. For sports I'd give the edge to Sony, in my experience it does a better job with motion.

The directions initially look a little confusing but once you get going, it is very straightforward. Love the fact that it has two places for the legs to fit giving you more options of where you can set up the tv. Clearly Sony thought of everything with this as the back of the cones with panels to close up the connections slot. Blacks are truly black.

Google TV is ready to use, but I can only connect via a wired Ethernet connection and not wireless. Picture is good at wide angles (30 degrees in my case), but the anti reflection is not as good as I hoped. Brightness is great, however, and that overcomes the reflections in my bright room. My previous Samsung Q90T was better with the glare and reflection, but it died after just 12 weeks and could not be repaired.

Great TV but how you hook it up matters!

My advice to anyone looking to purchase is to make sure that you take advantage of the free delivery service. The 75" is too big for one person to carry safely. I also needed help to put on the stand with out the risk of damaging the TV. Make sure that it is spelled out to deliver and put on stand by your sales associate in the store at purchase. Also, I recommend you to hook up a keyboard and mouse directly to the TV for best surfing of the smart TV apps. Hook up an ethernet cable directly to the TV for best picture. Use other connections on TV for computer and cable box. You will notice the difference between the direct ethernet connection and the others in picture quality. Use the picture format selection to match movie (ie: IMAX for IMAX). Make sure soundbar or home audio takes e/ARC (not just ARC, HDMI, USB, optical) connection so TV goes on and off automatically as your TV does, and audio is controlled on TV computer settings and remote, not on the soundbar's remote, to which e/ARC was designed to eliminate. Lastly, get the best cables, I did and it does make a difference. The new high speed ethernet and the new 8k HDMI cable from the computer to the TV made the biggest changes in picture for me from my old cables.

I don't notice a difference. Going from 1080 to 4K is a night and day difference. The TV is bright enough to hang over my fireplace with no curtains on the windows for daytime viewing. The user interface is well laid out and not over cluttered and buried. Besides the led zone blooming on certain black scenes. Overall a good TV.

I have it in a pretty bright room with lots of windows and the brightness doesn't disappoint. The black levels are very good though not OLED levels but it's good enough and the bright punchy picture makes up for it. Compared to the X91J which I also have, the X95J is brighter and has significantly better colors and viewing angles.

Not worth the money

But the "Smart" features are horrible. The TV constantly loses its connection to our wifi (none of our other devices do). The apps are slow to load and frequently glitch. We end up watching most of our streaming apps through the Roku because the Sony apps don't work well. For as much as this cost ($2,600 at the time) this was definitely not worth the money if we have to add a Roku stick to watch the shows we want.

I enjoy watching sports and movies during the day on the weekends and I don’t feel like it gets washed with the sunlight in the room, I chose this tv over the A80j OLED for this reason. Color and picture quality is amazing. It’s the best Sony tv I’ve owned.

I had an LG OLED in a bright room so I upgraded to this for picture improvement. The older TV was from 2019 but the Sony is much faster and responsive. The remote is simple yet plenty functional. What I like most is the pure Android Google Assistant. I can say launch Apple TV Ted Lasso episode 3 with the TV off and that happens in the matter of seconds! That's what I'm talking about.... 'bout time! Not that you would but you can change smart thermostats by talking to your GA and most other IoT. It's amazing. Whether using GA or the hard buttons on the remote the interface is quick and easy to navigate. The other nice feature is the home screen. It starts organizing ALL your content in one page. So if you stream say YTTV, Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Disney, Discovery+ like we do it's organized for the entire family and gets better the more you watch, ie intuitive. So finally a TV as smart as my phone and integrated in my smart home. And gain as for a TV with picture and sound being most important, A+.

It is also easy to operate. Easy set up and brilliant picture quality. Access to streaming and services is a bit different than a Roku based TV but easy to get used to..IF you use them. My only Negative would be the standard remote that comes included is NOT backlit, and difficult to use in a dark room ...but other remotes like cable can pair with This TV and you can access "basic" function from the other remote. A backlit remote can be purchased separately, which I did, and it is a lot better IMO. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with this product and would recommend it. I might add I had the Best Buy Geek Squad assist with a home visit before hand just to check the room, set up and stand options before I purchased, and they also did the installation. HIghly recommended as my local BB staff are awesome.

Off-axis viewing is much improved. Anti-glare feature does work, although it seems to spread as much as remove glare. Sony's Android based operating system seems to be incompatible with DirectTVstream, requiring either converter box or plug-in antenna device.

Okay but not the best.

Tv looks really good with high quality inputs like a UHD disc or some of the high quality 4K streams, but lower quality like from YouTubeTV or other lower quality streams are only decent. This is my first tv upgrade that I felt is a drop in quality from my previous tv. Coming from a 4year old OLED this is a disappointment. I was surprised how dark the picture was. You always hear that OLED tv is great but can’t get as bright as a new QLCD. Maybe this new tv can get brighter but doesn’t look that way… maybe because of the contrast differences. The picture looks too creamy instead of sharp for most images. This is especially true for bright outdoor images. Outdoor bright scenes do not look sharp at all. I would have returned for another OLED tv but fear the same issue as old tv of the red light deteriorated causing weird colors. Tv is too large to trade to try a different tv but expect the much cheaper models would be about as good and a better value.

Thank you for sharing your experience. For your information about our OLED panel TV models, if the whole image or part of the image remains still, the screen will gradually become darker to reduce image retention. This is a feature to protect the panel, and is not a malfunction.
