Decided to go with this unit because of the "brightness" of my room. This TV is "UNBELIEVABLE"!!! Being an A/V guy I did have to tweak the settings for my taste. From NFL games to Movies, simply incredible!! Watched Van Helsing recently and it blew me out da' water! Make sure you have a high end 4K bluray player and good cables! Blacks are incredible as well. Didn't notice any blooming. What can I say...NFL football season is ending and I'm in movie heaven!! Of course I have a separate 7.1 Dolby audio system. But the TV's speakers are pretty good!

The visuals are amazing in every way and the built in speakers are good but i recommend a surround sound set up

What a difference! There is absolutely no comparison. This was a hefty price to pay for a television so I expected perfection and that’s what I received. It has been almost 1 year now and I have had no problems. I love the picture quality. Looks good from almost any angle. The tv sounds is great. Everyone compliments this tv and say it’s like being in a movie theater. I will never stray from Sony TVs again! Pros: • Picture quality is stellar • Live Sports look great, no blurred action • Gaming is incredible • TV sound is so good that I don’t use my surround sound half the time. • Apps work great • Fast startup • Work great with Apple airplay Cons: • Produces ALOT of heat! • Light glare Bottom Line: You get what you pay for. If you are a stickler for quality picture on your television then look no further!

The only thing is I do have to force apps to stop and reboot them a little too much. In that aspect it's sort of like apps on your phone. Feels like I'm always out of space and have to delete apps I don't use much to free up space. I love that I can switch the quality and vividness easily. Over all I really do love this tv. It's better than what my eyes see in real life.

Like I had to explain to the wife, I bought the 2nd one because after nearly a year and a half of turn the 85" on, I literally still smile every time I watch content of any kind of play PS5 or Xbox on it. It is simply the absolute best video experience money can buy if you are a bight, dynamic TV fan. It's a beast. Period.

The brights are better the darks look great and the picture is amazing. If any draw backs is the weight on this TV. 1 person isn’t going to work setting up this beast. Had to have Geek Squad set up. The two technicians were amazed at the picture. Out of the hundreds of TV’s they were impressed with this one. Last words were “we are jealous”

Just passed the two year warranty I purchased with it. Will not buy Sony again. I’ve used them for the last 20+years without a problem but after spending this much on an 8K TV I will never do that again…

Sony Flagship TV is a near masterpiece

It also earns the Sony Tax which prices it out of site for most. Luckily I found an open Box unit at a Magnolia and jumped on it. There are very few reviews on this TV mainly because of the price and you really can’t find them anywhere. My impressions are its build quality is second to none, top notch in every respect. The brightness is exceptional and the blacks are outstanding, HDR is a masterpiece on this TV. The extra detail with the 8k upscale and Reality Creation is stunning, the processor can take just about any source and make it look 4k quality. The built in speakers are very good as well, but anyone buying a set like this is running a high end audio system to go with it. Obviously it will not achieve the perfect blacks and 0 blooming of a OLED, but the trade off is a much brighter experience that can be enjoyed in any room. If you can find one on clearance or open box as I did I would not hesitate as the z9j will repeatedly stunning you with its stunning viewing experience.

Literally the BEST

I was in the hunt for a 75in tv for my theater room and narrowed it down to this Sony, the Sony 90j, and LG G1. I was fortunate enough to be able to see all 3 side by side and without a doubt in my mind the Z9J was visibly better. Brighter, sharper, better contrast…it wok every spec. Sure those OLEDs have the unmatched black levels but when have you ever heard someone say “gosh I want me tv as darker”…never. Find yourself an open box and you can ignore the new price tag. Pros: BRIGHT AF, exceptional motion, upscalling to 8k is insane, picture is exceptional. Dolby vision and IMAX enhanced mode ad an entire new level of viewing experience. Cons: new in box is still pricey. Samsung fanboys trolling the negative reviews.

Its very bright but the way it throws the light out it doesnt bother your eyes it just looks great. I replaced a Sony XBR-75X850E which was great and had a great picture this is much better clarity and the blacks are top notch at OLED levels. So far loving it

I wish I could afford the 85" but that would cost double. I had to exchange once because the first one had a 1-2 mm dark dot (not dead pixels) near the center of screen which apparently was behind the glass. There were also a couple of finger prints sealed under the glass just above the top display edges. The second TV also had a 1-2 mm dot which is less obvious and near the top left corner so I decided to keep. It's a shame that Sony did not have a good quality control and clean manufacturing process. The ATSC 3.0 tuner would occasionally lose signal for 1-2 seconds when watching the Nextgen channels. Not sure if it was because the signal was weak but this did not happen to any of the regular HD channels. There were some discussions in AVS Forum about a similar problem and Sony attempted to fix it through firmware update but it did not seem to work. A few times when streaming some movies from Bravia core and Pluto, there was an audio delay of 1-2 seconds. Restarting the TV would resolve the issue but it is nevertheless annoying. For whatever reason. Sony does not use a removable plastic film to protect the screen like most other TV makers do. Instead it attaches a soft layer and a hard layer to protect the screen with tapes on edges. I could see many micro scratches on the screen on both TVs. They don't really affect the viewing but I wonder why not use film to avoid these scratches. Despite the above problems with the TV, I still like it because of its great picture and sound. I just hope that Sony will improve further through FW and apply better manufacturing control in the future. After all, this is the flagship model from the premium brand that people pay premium (the so-called Sony tax) on.

It's one of the best investment pieces for the household. I love the clarity, resolution, and ease of use of this 8k tv. Set up was great; you need a second and or third person because the tv is light and will tip over if you are not careful when plugging all your cords that are necessary or have already. The sound quality is superb, but adding a sound bar of any kind will drastically improve it.

Just our family has been looking at LG signature series since 2017 and our eyes couldn’t adjust to the LED look. The Z9J is a perfect upgrade if you like the LED look. Anyone that has ever seen a good calibrated OLED like the A90J can’t walk away from perfect blacks right next to any color. Both are perfect buys for intended user’s (like a person that is used to one or the other) and picture preferences in a LED owner or a OLED owner.

My first impression is "Amazing"! even my wife, who doesn't care about TV, was blown away. Even HGTV looks great ! If you have a Blu-ray, or 4K Apple TV attached, make sure you go into HDMI settings and choose "Enhanced HDMI". You will then have HDR, Dolby Vision, and 4K.
