Best Buy is sending somebody out tomorrow to see if they can get it to display anything in 8k. Sony wasn’t able to fix it. The picture is stunning and I am enjoying the tv. Sony shouldn’t sell it as an 8k tv.

So let me tell you, this tv is not worth the price tag nowhere near that. No MENU so you can not even adjust the sound settings. A big tv with a poor sound. The remote is very poorly designed. It might be a smart tv but with poor designed interface. Picture is no better than my 8 years old PANASONIC LCD, except is a bigger screen. I always loved Sony but lately i am very disappointed with them. I am keeping it because is to much of a deal to return it and is got a good picture for such a big screen. It also gets warm. I bought a tv stand from Best Buy so if i return the tv i have to do the same with the stand. It took me a good three hours to put it together and i am not going to spend more time taking it a part. I did not have the chance to see it in the store because no store had it in the display. My advice.. do not buy something by reading the reviews. I am sorry Sony i wish it could be different.

While the picture is outstanding the unit has had 2 master boards already (in 2 years) which prevent it from streaming into our theater processor. What good is a TV that cannot play well with others? Further, when the sound is good, it is great; when it is not, it tends to garble the audio on one side to the point of being unlistenable. I can't pinpoint what causes this anomaly as it comes and goes. So, if you cannot use the theater processor for streaming and cannot stand the garbled left channel with out the theater surround, the set is a paper weight. Playing discs is a wonder though and it's saving grace. That at least works perfectly. Sony service has been less than useful as well. While it was in warranty they did little to nothing to help; out of warranty they cannot even supply quality replacement parts that work. One would have thought that the name Sony would have been a guarantee of quality; apparently not so much anymore. The repairman, who we are now on a first name basis with..., tells us that LG is a more reliable brand. Hmmm, really Sony, you let that go?
