Bravia is the way to go

WiFi problems

It has problems connecting to my wi-fi a few times every month so I have to unplug the tv and plug it back in. Kind of ridiculous given that it’s 2023 and the tv is having problems connecting to Wi-Fi. Not many great settings to customize the tv.

Sony 75" X80J series TV

Being able to use the internet service together with it was really nice. However there is no type of DVR available in the TV. You would think that a brand new smart TV would come with all the bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong the clarity and convenience of this TV is great. Haven't used it for gaming purposes yet.

Great Picture, flaky firmware

However, the firmware seems a bit flaky. Turning the system on sometimes results in the TV getting confused, DIRECTV box turns on, surround sound turns on, and the monitor turns on them off. Typical turn it off and on again to get it to work….

We regret to hear about the issue of the TV. We apologize for the inconvenience. We recommend following the troubleshooting steps from this link and follow the guidelines to establish the HDMI connection of the TV.
Follow the steps below if the HDMI® connection between your TV and other devices.
1. Make sure both the TV and other device are turned on.
2. While turned on, unplug the power cords for the TV and device from the electrical outlet.
3. Disconnect the HDMI cables from the TV and other product.
4. Wait 60 seconds.
5. While the HDMI cables are disconnected, plug the power cords back into the electrical outlet.
6. Turn on the TV.
7. Re-connect the HDMI cables.
8. Turn on the HDMI-connected product.
The TV should now detect the HDMI signal from the connected device and operate normally. If there is still a problem, disconnect the HDMI cable from both products and then reconnect it in the opposite direction. In some situations this has been reported to resolve connection issues.

Good budget direct lit tv

Never Again Sony or Best Buy

The home is humidity controlled and occupied for four months per year. I had previously bought many Sony products. Upon return this year, the tv is loaded with pink/purple verticals and triple images. No steps by Sony people helped telling me the screen was defective and authorized dealer repair was 200 miles away. After three calls to retail I could not even get callback from Best Buy people. Obviously the repair costs (and future problem possibility )makes this unrealistic.
