Good Tv but disappointing aspect ratio options

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Its a good TV . the only thing I did not like is the aspect ratio feature - you cant make all the movies to go full screen. You end up watching them half the screen size. The "wide screen" option does not work at all . I tried with all the input types like hdmi etc.. I have an older sony bravia tv for which I could zoom for any input or any video to a certain zoom option which makes it full screen , which helps to have a better experience watching the end to end screen. The point being ---though you purchase a 75inch tv you dont get to experience the full screen most of the times. Other than that everything else is fine. I wont get into the details of the 4Ks and the refresh rates etc. for my naked eye those details are too much to differentiate. personally I care about the full screen size and the audio experience.

The aspect ratio of a high-definition picture displayed on the television is determined by the signal being received. The reason that you end up seeing black bars on some TV shows and movie is that many films and shows were, and are, made in a different ratios (usually wider) than what your TV supports. Many set-top boxes, DVD players, and Blu-ray Disc players also may have a setting that allows the picture on the TV to be adjusted. These options are normally located on the remote control, but also may be available in menu system of the product. Consult the instruction manual for the source device for further information.

Had to get warranty involved and the remote still hasn’t shown up ..... tv is great though. I highly recommend this tor the $$

We have streamed movies from apps on the tv and ethernet connectivity is good. Ours is hard wired to the router. Android tv is nice to find things to watch

A couple of months ago, a one inch orb appeared on the screen and never left. Unable to repair under warranty, Best Buy replaced my TV with a new Sony 75".

Ditched the Samsung, went with a Sony

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased a 75 inch Samsung 8 series but after about a week of using it during March Madness I started to notice a ton of backlight bleed. I thought I could deal with it but it became a huge eye sore while watching movies so I exchanged it for the Sony with edge lit lighting and I have been extremely satisfied with my experience so far. Google OS on the Sony is superior in my opinion vs the Smart Tizen on the Samsung. The GUI is buttery smooth and it's features work great such as Chromecast, AirPlay2 to name a few which wasn't the case with the Samsung with apps taking forever to load and the GUI being really cumbersome to navigate.
