The picture quality of this TV usually depends on the signal and content. While we're not sure what source device/content you are playing when viewing commercials, you may try configuring various settings related to the TV display such as color and brightness for picture quality and see if it improves your overall watching experience. Hi DavidO, we are sorry to hear that the TV freezes from time to time. This is definitely not the experience we'd like you to have. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn your experience around.

Please check if the software is updated. Updating the TV to the latest software allows you access to the newest features and fixes specific problems.

If the TV freezes, please try the following steps below:
1. Perform a Forced Factory Reset (Option C) .
2. If the issue still occurs, verify if it happens while watching a program on a specific channel. Hide the channel that causes the issue, or the channels not used from the channel listing on the TV.

Thank you for the review and we're glad that you like the picture quality of the TV. You may notice uneven brightness on the TV when watching in a dark environment or when the screen is blank. This condition is normal and not a malfunction of the TV. If you should find this affects your enjoyment, check this article with few adjustments that you can do to minimize this condition.

The Motionflow function creates interpolated images to make the picture smooth. Therefore, video noise may appear in fast-moving scenes or switching between scenes on your TV. If there's too much noise, change the Motionflow settings. You may refer to the steps on this link:
