The Sony 85” x95k replaced a beloved, but old, top end crt projector. Besides going from 1080p to 4K resolution, the increase in brightness is like a window to the summer sun. As well, the Total Tech install team, Miquel and Phil, were total professionals; quick and clean!

First, this is a review of both the 65" & 85" models. I upgraded to both the X95K 85" & 65" models from an 65" Panasonic Master series limited edition plasma TV. I had both models for roughly 9 months...Didn't want to write a review until I had spent a fair amount of time and media on both models first. Everything in 4K HDR is just AMAZING. Both models are bright & screen filter is great for sunlit rooms. Black level and backlight control is as good as the Panasonic due the large numbers of mini-LED zones...Virtually no blooming at all on the 85" model. Overall, the 85" model is just simply AMAZING! There are some negative reviews on the X95K series due to some blooming, but you will notice that the reviewed model is the 65" variant. I have both the 65" & 85" models and I can tell you that the 65" model does exhibit some noticeable blooming in comparison to the 85" model, but still pretty amazing given the price difference. The 65" model is a standalone setup and the sound quality is good. However, the 85" model is acting as the center channel with the SONY HT-A9. This combination is way better than my previous 5.1 setup with towers, center and bi-polar rear speakers...Especially in 7.1 (Dolby Atmos and DTS:X etc.).

My favorite tv i got asked if its for football games and viewing parties but nope just for me! Love pairing it with the ps5 tbe vrr keeps the game clean and watching movies on this melts my heart watching 4kuhd content is breathtaking. Also no blooming on the tv i get so excited when theres a dark scene in a movie or game

I did a lot of reviewing and reading before deciding on a mini led television. while the main complaint for this tv has been blooming or "blobbing" overall having a led tv for the last 7 years with backlight bleeding. the blooming is a minor inconvenience. I did buy this tv open box so i'm curious if there is any means for me to buy replacement trim for the tv. I'm missing the piece with the sony logo that goes across the bottom. Other than that, setup was a breeze, running a soundbar with the tv, and was able to put google tv in developer mode so my custom apps from my firestick are now on the native os meaning no more firestick for me. That alone is a huge plus. the operating system on the tv is nice and snappy. make sure to immediately check for firmware updates as you will gain control over the auto dimming feature which you couldn't turn off before. And the main selling point was the anti glare screen. I have the tv in a room full of windows and I could barely see my old tv with the blinds open. Not a problem here. I hope I get many years of use out of this tv.

Sony does a fabulous job with this product. Pair this TV with a Sony Sound Bar and Sub woofer as the tv works are a center speaker. The brighness is excellent. To mount the TV you need to get a good wall mount as it is a bit on the heavier side. Any wall mount that can take 150Lbs just to be safe.

This tv is massive. The picture is amazing. The mini LED brings brightness in normally dim areas like no other brand tv I have owned. The colors and contrast is shark and clear. The anti glare is surpasses all other grands I have owned. Unfortunately four months after installing it I am victim of a KNOWN software glitch. Sony has known about this for at least a year and a half with no fix pushed yet. It is causing my picture to go so dark that we can no longer watch movies or anything even the tv smart menu is dark. Now I get to go through the painful process of getting approval with my total tech to swap out to a different bran as I could get a new one of this model but it too could come with this issue or will most certainly develop the issue eventually. Shame on Sony for dragging their feet in this and to Best Buy for not disclosing these issues. Also my bad for not doing more extensive research.

One of the best 85" MiniLEDs you can buy. Important - the 85" X95K uses a different panel and components than the smaller sized. This panel has superior contrast and light performance to the smaller sizes. I have been very happy after 6+mo in a bright room with windows. Its so bright I turn it down to 'MIN' for night time viewing - and at those lower levels the contrast is superb. If you are looking at smaller sizes I would shop the newer Bravia 8 or Bravia 9 models as they are improved.

I’ve owned a 75 inch Sony Z9D and multiple Sony OLED tvs. I can say confidently that this is a step up from the Sony Z9D. This is in fact the first TV that Zohnny has released since the Z9D that I would consider an upgrade over that set. While the contrast is not as good as all lead, and there is some minor blooming occasionally visible, this TV does get brighter than the Z9D did and the contrast is better and the color volume is much higher. The local dimming is probably as good as the Z9D, the Z9D might have a slight advantage but it’s not significant if it exists at all. However, potential buyers should note that the 85 inch which ion performs significantly better than the 65 inch and 75 inch because it has a completely different panel with much better native contrast and the local dimming performs much better.

This TV has AMAZING resolution with crisp whites and black blacks. The google interface is nice, but I found it a little difficult to add some new apps compared to the Roku device I am used to. Still able to add apps (except those not compatible with a google account like showtime anytime #annoying). The viewing angles on this television are awesome with nearly no fade/distortion at 170-180 degrees. Having assistance with mounting the TV on a sturdy mount is a must with a set weighing almost 120 pounds, but the geek squad delivery team was able to unpackage and mount the TV in a matter of 20-30 minutes. The built in sound is very good for a television, and it is very adequate for television shows or gaming sound. However, I still recommend a surround sound theater speaker set up for a set of this size to be used for movie viewing to get the true theater feel. The price tag on this television is a bit steep, but it is the best television of this size on the market.

Amazing picture quality. Bright accurate colors and definition. Previous TV was plasma with very good picture quality and dark blacks. This TV is clearly better and the large screen experience is dramatic. Very pleased with this purchase.

Very nice picture. Decent integration with Sony audio. However, it has the WORST remote and user interface in history. You can't see the remote in the dark and there are no tactile references. It is illogical and lacks many normal inputs. The online interface is more of a sales tool than a users tool.

Great TV! If you need peak brightness and okay with some blooming. I returned it for an 83 inch A90J. The difference between this and the A90J is about $500 now and no brainer to get hold of the far superior OLED sibling. Unless, you are an audiophile, you won't need a soundbar with A90J.
