Best Mini LED

I have discovered that the 85 inch version of this TV uses a different panel than the 65 and 75 inch. Due to that the panel is brighter and has almost zero bloom. Any negative reviews here are probably related to the 65 and 75 inch model. This is the best TV I have ever owned and I have it in a room with natural light so I needed something bright. OLED wasnt the play here. The TV is super bright and colors pop! You really see a difference. If you can get it, the 85 inch model is the way to go. I have this paired with a Sony HT A7000 sound bar and it has been the best experience for my home theater. I use an apple tv and a 4k blu ray player. I think it is the best Mini LED available and worth it; if you have the cash.

Extremely good blacks with blooming only really visible on the worst case white letters on a solid black background (credits). Fantastic color and brightness. Image has a "pop" and depth that exceeds my previous OLED (Sony A9F). At least on the 85" version (different panel and way more local dimming zones), you can ignore the hand-wringing about problems in the YouTube reviews. Unless you have completely unrealistic expectations for an LED set (occasional minor blooming and extreme off-axis IQ compared to OLED), you should be thrilled with this TV. Screen uniformity is outstanding on my particular unit and Dirty screen effect (DSE) is very, very minor and not noticeable except on DSE test videos. Absolutely no banding on gradients (Sony XR processing - yeah!). Go big, or go home !

This thing is soo bright it makes my Oled look dull after watching it. The blacks are not quite as deep ad Oled, but the size 85" and brightness will blow you away. When family or friends walk in and see this TV on their are blown away.

Then, the opportunity came to compare the two, along with the OLED version (same settings, same simultaneous feed). The X95K blew the others away--in detail, contrast, depth, every metric. The less expensive mini-LED display just seemed flat and lifeless. the X95K is not a 3D display, but the picture has an almost three-dimensional depth quality to it. Detail in darkened areas is superior to OLED, too. Given that it is more robust/longer lasting (no risk of burn-in) and slightly less expensive than the OLED as well, the choice is obvious: it IS worth the $$$. It has more than decent audio that would work well as the center/voice channel of a 7.1 or Atmos configuration; but, like any flat panel display, it serves best as the video component of a home theater with dedicated audio.
