This happens with whatever input and/or pictures settings I use. I will be more than likely returning this TV in exchange for another brand unfortunately.

- Reduce the Backlight Level in the Picture Settings menu.

The LCD screen is made with high-precision technology to achieve a high level of performance and picture quality. To achieve this level of performance, the backlight setting of the TV is set to maximize the screen brightness. However, you may notice uneven brightness on the TV when watching in a dark environment or when the screen is blank. This condition is normal and not a malfunction of the TV. If you should find this affects your enjoyment, here are few adjustments that you can do to minimize this condition.
Reduce the Backlight Level in the Picture Settings menu.
Turn the Light Sensor setting to On in the Setup menu.
Change the Power Saving setting to Low or High in the Setup menu.
Set the Picture Mode to Standard in the Settings menu.

Best "Bang for the Buck" in TV's

I'm a firefighter and I was just looking for a good TV because my last one quit working (a 75 inch Samsung with a lackluster picture that only lasted 2 years before the display quit working). I spent about 12 hours researching televisions to find the best bargain. I won't bore you with all the specifications, I'll just summarize by saying that this is the lowest priced television that has the key features of the higher end models to provide the best gaming and viewing experience. I've had it for 3 days now, and EVERYTHING looks better on this screen than the last one I had. The picture is crisp, defined, and vivid. The 4k videos on youtube and the ultra HD movies that I have streamed from various services look amazing! I also am very impressed with the audio, I purchased it thinking I might need to add a sound bar at a later time, but the sound from the factory speakers is sufficient to keep me from having to do that. Another huge plus for this TV is the user interface. It's very intuitive and keeps me from having to add an Amazon fire stick , which was necessary on my previous TVs due to the hard to navigate user interface of those TVs. The remote is simple and easy to use and feels good in your hand, it just feels like it's made well. All of the things we watch look soooo much better, and it's hard to not talk about how good the picture is while we're watching lol. I'm extremely happy with this purchase!

We notice that this sony x80k tv was bigger and somehiw cheaper than our last tv so we pulled the trigger on it. I was meh at first because coming from a very good tv i was afraid of this one being washed out. However, it is actually more clearer and more detailed on top of being brighter somehow which can be too bright out of the box. I recommend using brightness anything under 10 and make sure you definitely fix the gamma to get really good blacks for a directlit tv. Dont let that fool you btw. Pros: -Big/cheapest -Detailed/clear -actually accurate colors -bright -easy to use -PRICE Cons: -Can be too bright (which aint that bad) -viewing angle sucks -lack of VRR -need to adjust the gamma (which is fine) -HDR is not its best but works fine

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love everything about it, especially the Screen Mirroring (AirPlay, I think it's called) where I can do Zoom calls with friends and family and share windows while I'm on my MacBook. The mic seems to extend to the TV, although sometimes it can be a little choppy, so I ask the speaker to slow down their speech as there tends to be a half-second delay (acceptable). I've only had this TV for a month, so no issues so far, quality is great, ease-of-use is pretty good, although my only gripe might be that whenever I turn it on, it asks me for my Google TV user and I have multiple accounts I use for YouTube, therefore I always have to select the main one -- however, it seems I can skip this step, but it's nevertheless a slight annoyance to be met with that Google TV user id screen every single time. The integration with YouTube and YouTube TV is quite seamless and I like the fact that there's a dedicated button for YouTube on the remote. I don't use it for much else other than watching sports, which is usually limited to 720p by the broadcaster (sad face). Have yet to try a movie or dedicated 4K sports in 4K, but even just watching a YouTube video that's designed for 4K is really nice, as there are many scenic ones you can play while you're doing work or something. So far so good...

I do wish that the tv had more than 4GB of space for apps though. I am constantly cleaning out the cache. This is a google tv, but not a google chromecast tv. So if you have googles nest cameras, you cannot watch them on this tv. Also I had to relocate the wall mount for this tv. It mounts at the bottom of the tv. Not the middle and mine is over the fireplace. My previous tv was a 70 in lg tv that mounted in the middle of the back of the tv.

Home Theater Feel!

I must say this TV is worth the price, especially being on sale. The TV was easily mounted to a full motion wall-mount. The TV comes with metal fittings in order to be able to use the wall mount screws into the deep grooves in the back. The TV instantly picked up and recognized the inputs for the TV: Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. The use of Google TV and all the other apps is a breeze, From Apple TV, to Vudu, Hulu, you name it. From unboxing to full set up, it only took about one hour, not a lot of time for upgrading to a much larger TV. The only thing is that now I want to upgrade other things to make my set up better. I'll be looking into a receiver and a 5.2 surround sound system, at least.

The color vibrancy and clarity is fantastic. It looks best in high lighting rooms; however, in dark room the tv projects blacks very brightly. It is a good consumer tv, but not perfect.

Very happy with the picture, but not very happy with the sales manager at the Best Buy in Lady Lake, FL. They sold my first cash purchase out from under me as a sold item, due to later to be on sale. You wont regret the picture size, quality, and sound value.
