The A6400 replaced an A6000, which I was very pleased with. I upgraded to the A6400 because of the advances in AF, mainly the addition of tracking and both human and animal eye focus. The animal eye focus feature does, at this point, require a simple online firmware update. The pros with this camera are it’s compact size and light weight, its excellent Sony APS-C sensor, very usable EVF, very good low light performance, and overall fine image quality. That, plus the advanced AF features, make for a formidable little camera. The downside is that it may be too small for larger hands, and definitely does not balance well with larger, heavier lenses. Although improved, Sony menus are not what I would call intuitive. The manual that comes with the camera is very basic, and really leaves much to the new owner to figure things out. Also, as with most mirrorless designs, battery life is relatively poor. So, if you're looking for a carry camera that doesn’t require a padded shoulder strap because of its weight, and want the image quality of an APS-C sensor, the A6400 may be a perfect fit. Just expect to spend some time with the menus, and a lot of time online figuring out how to set it up so you can take advantage of its many features.

I love this camera, it is so great. I have had it a few times, and it never disappoints. I think the handyman, the lightweight of it, and the versatility of this is great. I will buy this over and over and over again, please stock these plenty.

My first Sony and my firdt Mirrorless camera and I have to say I am very pleased. The camera is light, well built, easy to use and very very fast. also shoots video in 4K. Its an older model but an excellent choice.

I have always been a Nikon user in the past. It has been a long time since we purchased an updated camera, and decided to give Sony a try. I am quite impressed with the ease of use and most importantly, the quality of the images I am receiving from the unit. Great camera! It's light and takes amazing pictures. I used a 35mm prime lens with it, and I love all my shots. Definitely recommend!

Great camera for all levels of photo and video. Small and light with all the features you could ever need. AF is fast and quite with multiple lenses. I bought an open box item for $750 and it was basically brand new with a couple hundred shutter uses.

My second one. Saw it opens box for almost 200 cheaper. Made sure it was clean and it was. Already used it for paid gigs. So paying itself off as we speak. Can not say enough about this camera. Even after the newer models are out. This camera holds up to its bigger bro the a6600.

Excellent video capabilities. The eye focusing is superb. Been using dslr for years and im happy i got this a6400 as my first mirrorless camera. I bought the body and got the 18-105mm f4 and f1.8 50mm. For general photography, the package is highly recommendable.

Great camera for the APSC line up. I used to own the 6400 and the 6600. Big difference when it comes to autofocus performance, it locks on to the target very accurately. The AI processor makes it a fast a super to select the target.
