Great camera!

FOR 1) Good image quality 2) Full array of features 3) 4K video 4) Touch focus 5) Excellent performance 6) USB charging AGAINST 1) Limited touch-screen capabilities 2) LCD not fully articulated 3) No in-body stabilization 4) Dense menu system 5) No external charger included

Compared to older model a6400 improved focusing speed and accuracy. The battery life is maybe little bit better but not good. My ald a6300 was over heati g and shut off when I shot 4k. But not this one. Small and light enough with 10-18mm f/4 or Sigma 16mm f/1.4 for gimbal. I use more this camera than my full frame a7iii.

Phenomenal camera at a great price!

Great for beginners and experienced shooters alike. Down sampled 6k footage to give very crispy 4K video. Improved color science for photo and video really looking good on skin tones. Flip up screen for vloggers. Improved autofocus rivaling Canon.

Silent shooting is a great feature for stage photography which is most of what I do. Only draw back is the menu system is unnecessarily confusing.

User Friendly

He was nervous as it has such a big menu option, but the reality is it's so user friendly. He is able to shoot manually and make adjustments on the fly, and the pictures these take are amazing.

I actually like using this for video more than my a7iii because of the flip up screen and how small and light it is. The only downside is the battery is not as good as my a7iii but they are small and easy to carry multiples.

Why purchase the a6400??? This is the only camera in the apsc lineup that shoots unlimited 4K video and does not overheat. If you're into podcasts or long video conferences this camera is a beast. Most digital cameras have a 30 minute video recording limit otherwise they would be taxed as a camcorder and would be more expensive. Somehow this camera got around that. I purchased a full frame Sony A7C recently so this camera is now my B roll camera and backup. On a side note, if you decide to go full frame, the Sony A7C also records unlimited 4K video and that is why I chose that camera. Regardless of what Sony Mirrorless camera you purchase, it will be a solid investment. I've been shooting Sony since 2016 and will never buy a Canon or Nikon.
