I'm a long time A6000 user and decided to step up to the A6400. It did not disappoint. The form factor is identical, but better build quality (magnesium instead of plastic). 4K footage is surprisingly clean. And image quality is signature Sony. The Sony lens game has certainly improved over the past 4 years. This is a great camera for vlogging, Youtube videos, and photography. You could easily use this as second camera for b-roll. I wish it had 4:2:2 10 bit video capture, but that might be asking too much. The 18-135mm lens with this kit is surprisingly good, even with the variable aperture. The image is mostly sharp unless you are all the way wide. I have also used this with the Elgato Camlink 4K. This might be overkill for that purpose, but you will never look better on a Zoom call. The only con is the stupid Sony menu system. This fixed this on the A6500, but that is a far more expensive camera and a bit bigger. The good thing is you can still use your A6000 batteries with this camera.

Great beginner camera, super easy to use and get comfortable with. The video quality is amazing.

So I have been researching my first camera for over a year and have been deciding between DSLR and Mirrorless, eventually I decided due to the relatively smaller size of a mirrorless I would be more inclined to carry it everywhere and want to get good at it. For most, the cost may be the only downside for a first camera but I can honestly tell this is something that you can grow into as you grow in your craft. Sony cameras in general caught my eye because of how easy the software on them is to navigate in addition to how nice they look. I originally decided to settle on the Sony a5100 because of the flip screen, kid you not the day I went to purchase Sony announced the release of the 6400 and I decided to wait. I bout the most expensive lens option and am beyond satisfied with how it performs. Didn’t take long to figure out and how to navigate and now it goes everywhere I go.

this is a huge improvement from my first Sony mirrorless camera, the A6000. I already had lenses, so I purchased the body only. The ergonomics have improved, and the body is more substantial. there is also dust / water protection. I've only taken a couple of short videos, but first impressions are positive. I sold my A7III because I rarely used it, I usually grabbed the smaller A6000. For the kind of photography I enjoy, I don't miss the mass of the bigger camera, and I don't feel like I've compromised with the change to the A6400.

I've been wanting a camera for over 10 years now and finally got around to purchasing the Sony A6400. It is easy to use and understand. The lens is a great starter. Prior to purchasing, I researched lens for quite bit and this felt like the easier pairing to start to learn the basics of photography and videography.

Wanted a jack of lol trades camera that wasn’t a point no shoot for photography and videos, this camera meets those requirements easily, the battery life could be better but it doesn’t overheat and you can push it a little further while filming which is nice. There’s d3finitely a learning curve as Sony’s formatting isn’t user friendly but once you get the hang of it you’ll be fine. Purchased this on sale and in excellent condition.

I use this for streaming on twitch and it never fails me. Always great quality and the image is so crisp even with unstable lighting

I’m a beginner when it comes to pricey cameras. I’ve only ever used point and shoot cameras. My experience since purchasing the Sony A6400 is that it is easy to use and I like how compact it is to travel with. The quality is great. I use it to take pictures of family.

For an APS-C camera this is a really good choice. I've been using this for travel, wildlife, street and even pro photography. Image quality is very good when proper lighting. Video its really good as well although lack of in body image stabilization. I will recomend this to any photography lover, and any entry level photographer

The camera is very easy to use and gives great 4k quality. It is a great mid-entry level camera by Sony. The flip-up screen comes in handy if you're vlogging, but will block the mic if you're mounting one. I got the L bracket filming was a breeze would recommend to anyone trying to get a great camera for filming even takes great pictures. My older Sony 5NEX stopped working. I debated for a long time if I wanted to get another sony bc I do love Canon as I always liked the way color came out on their cameras better. But eventually ended up getting one as I already had the longer zoom lens and this camera is more compact. Debated between this and the A6000. Am so glad I spent the extra money to get this camera that was more expensive as it had the better lens and slightly more features than the other version. I took pics during a musical for my nephew. It was extremely dark and I didn't use a flash and the pictures turned out great! and the color and clarity are excellent. Also used my longer lens for a college graduation. it captures motion/movement better than my previous camera - I used to have a lot of blurry pics before. So far I've only used it a few times - but very happy with results. Very easy for amateur to use. I am a bit of a lazy photog and mostly use auto focus.
