Oh, the journey I have had with this camera. When I was using the old a6000, I found myself wanting more in terms of autofocus, and the 2nd generation cameras in the a6000 (meaning the a6100, a6400, and a6600) line all had the improved tracking autofocus and tap to touch focus, and although very much so more expensive then the lower models, the a6600 was well worth it. The game changer between it and the lower models was the battery. While the 6100 and 6400 both used the same batteries as the 6000, the 6600 used the same battery as the larger a7 series, and boy did it make a difference. At first it just seemed like a nice bonus, but in practice it totally changed my workflow. Before, if I went out for a 1-2 hour photo walk, I would immediately plug my camera in knowing I would need a charge for my next session. With this, I can charge it once a week or so. I honestly don’t even think about charging it. It also provides an ergonomic benefit in that they needed to mold a larger grip to accommodate the battery, and now you always have a firm grasp whereas the lower end models were a little slipperier. The a6600 also has a ton of custom buttons. You can map whatever functions you want to it, making the often maligned Sony menu invisible. For hobbyists, this camera is perfect. For professionals, it can serve as a solid backup camera. Only reason it may not serve as a great camera for pros is it only has a single SD Card slot, so if that card fails, you don’t have a second slot that automatically takes over or has been backing up the first one. But if your budget is tight, then this will be a great way to get your business off the ground until you can update.

The best APS-C camera II have ever bought. It’s great for both photography and videography. Paired with the right lens, this camera can capture amazing photos. My favorite part is the EVF. Auto Focus is industry leading. Battery last for days if only shooting photos. I highly recommend this.

Autofocus: A standout feature of the a6400 is its autofocus system. With real-time tracking and Eye AF, the camera boasts impressive focusing capability in its class. 2. Image Quality: With a 24.2-megapixel sensor, the a6400 delivers sharp images with good details and accurate colors. 3. Video Recording: The a6400 is capable of 4K video recording and boasts advanced color profiles such as S-Log for those keen on post-production. 4. Durability: With a sturdy body and weather-sealing against dust and moisture, it’s ideal for photographers on the go. If you are getting into photography or even experienced photographer. This is the camera to get. Battery life is amazing. Build quality is amazing. Menu is packed and takes some time to get used to but has many many features. The quality of the pictures are great (depends on your lens of course, too. But the camera is very important). If you are considering the alpha 6 series. This is the one to get. Thank me later

The battery alone makes this camera worth it. I really mean that. low light is great and you can use the sigma's if you focus on steady hand! (the ibis on this camera sucks. barely noticeable difference between this and the non stabilized a6400, but it still makes a difference on the sigma lenses.) The headphone jack is nice too BUT you can always monitor that on screen. What really makes this camera worth it is the fact that you can just shoot forever and not worry about anything. flip up screen is actually better than the flip out screen if you use an attachment to relocate shotgun mics. Negatives: Same sensor and capabilities as most other Sony aps-c cams but double the price. No usb-c..... absolutely unacceptable at this price point. flip up screen is a bit slow to flip up. Face tracking on the a6400 is just as fast as eye tracking on the a6600 so it's not really an upgrade focus wise. 8 bit files that are fragile for color correction.

Recently made a switch from using Canon DSLR cameras then finally switching over to Sony starting with this a6600. I made the switch since Canon requires alot of different adapters to use different lenses and I eventually got myself an Anamaorphic lens, only bad thing was the lens was not supported by any Canon cameras and the lens adapter i needed costed a fortune in order to use all lens functions from IS and to autofocus, etc. Images are sharp, color science is still pretty good even among newer cameras with the latest color science, im a big video type of person so using this with gimbals, anamorphic lenses, mics and even the Ninja V screen is definitely an amazing setup for doing videos and plus you look more legit with it all hahha, overall very satisfied. Only thing I have against it is getting used to Sony menus after being used to Canon menus, will be a mess at first but its not impossible.

Awesome camera. moved up to 6600 from 6000 for the image stabilization and improved low light and auto focus. This camera is sharp. Pair it with quality lenses and your set! Light and compact I use this for backpacking photos. It's a rugged beast that performs!

I have owned the Sony a6600 for a little over a month now. I was contemplating between this or the a7iii. I was weighing the pro's and con's for both devices, I spoke to the BestBuy specialists, and watched numerous youtube videos, and came to the conclusion that the Sony a6600 was the right choice for me. The deciding factor for me was the price/use. How it came to that was actually by the BestBuy associate. How and when I use my camera is for family events and adventures; which consist of portraits and some action photography because of my 2-year-old son's energy :) The Sony a6600 has been awesome. I upgraded from the Sony a6400 because of IBIS. I know that article after article will tell you that IBIS does not play a part in photography but I don't know if I am different but I do see a difference in the clarity of my shots compared with my Sony a6400. Also, the a6600 feels more premium than the a6400. The buttons are easier to use, the layout is slightly different because of the bigger grip, and when paired with the G-Master 16-55 mm the combo works very amazingly. I know that the G-Master and the a6600 cost almost the same as the a7iii paired with the Tamron 28-75, but the more I thought about it, it was like comparing the number 1 setup in the APS-C to the number 2 in full-frame, and for the money, I was spending I really wanted something that offered the most for my money. Go Big or Go Home.

The Sony Alpha 6600 Is A Very Good Mirrorless DSLR Battery Life Is Very Long And Gives Astutely 4K Video As Well As Stills. Flip Up Screen Act As A Wonderful Monitor. It Can Be A Little Bulky, The Sensor Is an Old Model found On it’s Predecessors,And Many Of The Menu Functions Are Buried In The Wrong categories.

I bought the previous model, the A6500 about 3 years ago. It was one of my favorite cameras I ever owned. More recently, I bought the A7 III to complement my A6500. My lineup of lenses includes a variety of both full frame and APS-C lenses. Even though I was often using the full frame camera, more than the APS-C camera, I didn't want to completely drop the APS-C line since I have so many lenses for it. But this camera gave me exactly what I wanted-- upgraded specs, a flipping screen and the same battery as my A7 III. That helped me consolidate into an easy-to-carry bag, etc. And I must say, using this camera feels exactly the same as using the full frame, except it's like I get a free 50% zoom on all my lenses. This is a great camera and I'm happy with my purchase.

This is my third a6000 series camera. I like the small size for traveling and with different lenses available. It seems a a little larger than the previous a series cameras, but it fits nicely in my hands. Probably the best thing about it is the longer battery life, about double.

I paid around $1200 plus tax brand new for this DSLR. I got this primarily for video and due to 4k quality. Overall it took me a while to learn all the functionalities of this camera...which I have to revisit from time to time. I wish there was a FLASH? Guess they took that out on this model. I got the 16mm sony lens for video. It is cheap and works great. However, I would NOT RECOMMEND that lens for picture taking. It's worse than my sony camera from 10+ years ago. LOL I plan on buying more lenses to use with this camera in the future.
