After couple of months researching, and reading up as much of professional reviews and customers reviews as I can find, my main requirement this time for a new DSLR is that it must be a full frame camera. It came down to either this Sony a7iii or a7riii. I finally settled on the a7iii. The main reason is that I don’t need the extra megapixel that came with the 7r since most of my photo shoots will be for family functions, street shootings, nature, and astrophotography. When comparing Sony a7iii to other full frame, I looked at the functions, features, imaging quality, and last but not least, price. Since I am not a professional photographer and I don’t rely on my camera for a living, I lean toward a mid entry camera. When comparing the similarly priced Nikon, Canon and others, Sony stood out from the rest of the pack. I bought a package with 24-105mm OSS lens. I can honestly say that this camera did not disappoint in term of features and pictures quality. Even when shooting under low lighting, the images are sharp and beautiful. The included battery last entire day of shooting with plenty of juice left at the end of the day. Charging the battery through the camera can take up to 5 or 6 hours. I recommend purchasing a Sony external charger. Charging time takes only 2.5 hours to fully charge a fully drained battery. One thing that threw me off first time using it is that any part in the viewing screen that the camera think it’s too bright or can be over exposed, that part would have black and white diagonal lines through them. No where in the instruction or in any of the reviews did they mention that. I almost panicked the first time I noticed that and didn’t know what caused it. It wasn’t until I started playing with the iso, f-stop and speed, that I noticed the lines went away. So just because you see it, it doesn’t necessarily mean that your photo will be over exposed, it just to let you know that that part of the photo is brighter than the rest, and you can compensate as necessary. With the 24-102 mm OSS zoom lens, I was able to take photo of my daughter soccer game, and crop it later to close up on the actions. Even when cropped, the photos still remained sharp. Everyday street shooting, family gatherings, evening time by the firelight, the images are stunningly beautiful. The viewing screen is a bit small for me. When trying to focus on a distant star through the telescope, it is a bit difficult. But that is normal for any DSLR. My plan is to purchase an external monitor to attach to the Sony to make that task a bit easier. One thing I came to love is the button customization. You can go online to see how you can customize the buttons to do what you wanted it to do. Once you get used to it, you will wonder how you ever lived without it in the first place. Like anything else, there is a bit of a learning curve. I’m still learning it. To me that’s part of the fun. I haven’t played with the video mode much, but the quality of the video I’ve taken so far was quite impressive. It definitely rival that of some dedicated video camera. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase. If you don’t need or want a full frame camera, you can definitely save some money by going with the other format DSLR. But if you want full frame and with DSLR features, and superb quality, you can’t go wrong with this Sony.

Sony alpha never cease to amaze me with its top notch quality considering this camera came out in 2018 it still holds up as a professional option for any photographer, I'm Using this camera with a 24mm tilt shift lens for architectural photography and it's been a great journey so far. the compact size and light weight of the camera makes it very easy to handle and interface menu even to it hasn't changed much from previous alpha generations is easy to use once you practice with it a couple of times.

After 3 years with an a6000 my long overdue upgrade to an a7iii has been transformative. Paired with my Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 Art lens I’m taking the photos I’ve been dreaming of but came up short on too often with the crop sensor. While the MP rating is the same, the quality and resolution of this camera is far above the a6000. I like the feel, the menus were easy to learn having used Sony before, and the battery life is silly awesome. I shot 250 photos last weekend at an event over 3 hours with quite a bit of reviewing and only went from 97% to 82%. I have a second battery on the way and I think I’m gonna be good for awhile.

This Sony a7iii was my very first “professional” camera I’ve ever owned. And all I can say is WOW! Totally satisfied with my decision! The camera is user friendly, not too heavy. I pair it with my Tamron 70-180mm lens and I get amazing photos every time.

Camera is amazing. New to photography and love it, camera is super easy to use. Quality from last camera to this is a BIG difference. Eye AF is insane. Definitely recommend

I've been a Canon shooter for numerous years I own The Canon 5D Mark II & III And The 1 DX and of course a number of Canon L glass which includes the 85 f/1.2, 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 MK II f/2.8 IS, 16-35 f/4 are just of the many I own. I mostly shoot landscapes but I do shoot a few events and you can throw in a few local sporting outings. I bought the A7III in early November 2018 because Best Buy was offer an online open box deal so I pulled the trigger. I also purchased the Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM, 16-35 f/4, and the 55 f/1.8 to go with it. I then purchased a Sigma MC-11 adapter to use with my Canon glass. I use the MC-11 when I'm doing landscapes but however I prefer to use native glass when I'm shooting weddings and other paid events. The A7III is my main camera with my 1 DX as my back up. The low light focus is great so much better than the 1 DX and yes I know the 1 DX is 2011 technology. I left Canon for Sony and I'm glad that I've switched. I'm deciding whether to buy the A9 or the A9II along with 70-200 GM glass. I like the clean files that Sony produces on my monitor and it's much cleaner than the Canon 5D Mark III. The menu system could use much improvement but however I took the time to customize the settings to my shooting style and that makes the menu issue a moot point for me. The Good: 1. Clean Files 2. The Incredible Eye Focus is a game changer 3. Price The Bad: 1. This Sony A7 III is not durable as my Canon or 5 series. 2. Open sensor means its a dust magnet and yes it's a pain to clean the sensor frequently. I hate changing lens in the field due to that fact. I wish Sony would listen and implement a cover that activate when you're changing lens because we all don't work in sterile environments such as a studio where you can keep dust to a minimal!!!! 3. Frozen Shutter Curtain yep I had it to freeze up while I was shooting in the Catskills Mountains this summer. Thanks to Best Buy to their Geek Squad plan I was to able to get that issue repaired. I highly recommend that you purchase a protection plan because it will save you the headaches later down the road as it did for me. There you have it. I'll recommend the Sony A7III to anyone who enjoys photography but be prepared to clean that sensor frequently because it collects a good amount of dust. Sony I hope that you're listening please add sensor protection feature when the lens is off the camera!!!!

If you're still waiting for the A7sIII to come out, this is a great solution to your problem. This camera has wonderful low light capabilities and is a dream to work with when it comes to shooting real estate photography. RAW photos combined with 5-9 bracketed allows for wonderful HDR photography. For video purposes, I've paired the Sony XLR-K2M by connecting it via the Multi-Interface Shoe Adapter - allows me to capture 2 channels of audio and feeds directly off the battery. Lastly, I'd have to say the biggest improvement with Sony's line of mirrorless cameras has to be the extended battery life...now I've taken it a step further and added a 2nd battery using the Sony VG-C3EM Vertical Grip. This gives me hours of usage for both 4K video and photography. All in all, it's a great camera and I'm glad I purchased it when I did. I found an excellent open-box deal down in Fort Lauderdale and saved 25% off MSRP. The lens I'm using is the SONY 16-35mm f/4, I opted for the f/4 over the f/2.8 because I felt the reason I'm purchasing this camera in the first place is for low light sensitivity, so I just push the ISO up a bit more and it works just fine. I bought it November 2024. Best Hybrid camera, you can’t go wrong with this camera body. Great battery life, lasts 4 hours of shooting photos. I really love the “joystick” for single spot focus and dual card slots. Highly recommend as your first camera, or backup camera.

Although not the newest Sonly A7 model available, this one shoots photos that give that "wow" factor when people see what you've shot with it. This is an amazing, pro-level, easy to use full-frame camera.

What more can I say about this camera body that hasn't been said already. The A7 M3 is a quantum leap over the previous camera body in terms of Autofocus, Build Quality and ergonomics. Also dual memory slots bring this into a professional level workflow. So when Sony put it on sale for $300 off normal retail it was no brainer.

The Sony a7iii, paired with a 50mm lens, is fantastic for both cinematography and photography. Its versatility and wide range of settings make it a dream to work with, especially when experimenting with different shots and lighting. The image quality is impressive, delivering sharp, detailed photos and smooth video that brings cinematic visuals to life. However, I’ve found it to be somewhat fragile, handling it with extra care is a must. Additionally, I’ve noticed occasional lag, which can interrupt the flow when I’m in the middle of capturing a moment. Overall, though, it’s a solid performer with excellent features.

Best buy was the only place I can get release day pick up so major kudos tp Best Buy! The camera ai received was perfect out the box. Camera is solidly build with all the great options. I switched to Sony from Canon recently and so far sony has optimized photo and video with all the great functions that I had before but pushed it to a new level. I love the video capabilities, the in bodybimage stabilization. Sony is going tue right direction with mirrorless. Right now I am extremely happy with my purchase!

Wasn’t sure about the camera at first because of how old it is, but it has exceeded my expectations. Really love the quality of images that come out of it, I just hate the quality of the screen and how it doesn’t fully oscillate.

I run a business shooting events, weddings, and potraits for the island of Hawaii. I postonline on my instagram and have gained so much more interests due to the quality. I love Sony products.

I was oscillating between a Canon EOS R and this. In the end, the A7iii is lighter, and has much better features for those wanting to shoot high end video. The quality of video is amazing. Plus, with adapter, I can use my quality Canon lenses with this camera.
