I will preface this review by saying that I am a long-time Canon person with quite a bit invested in Canon bodies and lenses. However, after a recent negative Canon experience and my sense that Canon wasn’t investing in their sensors like Sony is, I decided to see if the mirrorless world was where I wanted to invest for the future. I have had the a7R III and the 24-70 lens for about a month now and I have to say that I am truly blown away. The image quality is superior to my 5d Mark IV and 5DSR, the video quality is spectacular, and the camera is just simply easier to use and quite a bit lighter than my Canon gear. The EyeAF feature in particular is tremendous. I backbutton focus and then recompose but with the EyeAF feature the camera accurately tracks the eyes perfectly and the results are stunning. I am in the process of mapping out a plan to sell all my Canon gear to transition to Sony.

I upgraded to the A7iii from the A7ii which I had used for over a year. The main noticeable upgrades are much better autofocus system. Eye AF works very well and I have noticed a much higher percentage of in focus shots. 10fps bursts make capturing action shots a breeze. Image quality and dynamic range is excellent. Video quality is great, 4K is very sharp. 1080p 120 FPS allows for nice slow motion. Only gripes are lower quality back screen/resolution. Controls on the camera are much improved over A7ii, the toggle joystick that allows you to pick autofocus points is very useful. Battery life is incredible and a huge improvement over the A7ii.

Absolutely amazing and my favorite camera body to date. It’s small enough to take on the go and takes the most amazing photos. Super easy to learn / use and user friendly!!!

I switched from a Nikon DSLR to this camera. AMAZING! The focus is sooooo good. I’ve had this camera 2 years now and I stilll love it just as much! Sony gear is just extremely expensive but so worth the quality!

This camera fills any need a beginning or professional photographer would have. Fast autofocus, great in low light and really feels good in my hand. The grip could be deeper however. The new battery lasts far longer than the fw50 and has dual card slots for back up memory. Go and get this camera. Very affordable for the quality you’re getting.

After hours of research on different brands and models decided on this thing! Love my a6000 and wanted and needed something better. Comfort, ease of use, battery life, quality etc.. just felt right after shooting this compared to the competitors. Lenses are a bit pricey from Sony... but amazing if you have the funds. Overall I love the A7iii it was the perfect Investment

As a new photographer, the Sony a7 III is an absolute game-changer. Its incredible auto focus and impressive image quality in various lighting conditions. A good choice for anyone looking to step up their photography game without breaking the bank.

Ok so I never do reviews but I must say this camera deserves it . For the last 5 months or so I have tried several cameras . Fuji xt3 , eos r, d850, a7riii, D750 etc . I must say out of the bunch this is the most well rounded camera I have used PERIOD . Eye auto focus is awesome !!! I am mainly a portrait photographer and I often shoot at shallow depth of field and I nail focus 95% of the time ! Also Sony has truly worked on skin tones a lot !! I used to hate them and found that I had to do a lot in post to make them work for me but not any more . I’ll say this if you have been thinking about switching camera systems for the last few years this is the one to pick up

Picked this back up as a hobby camera. Love the results. Very dependent on the lens you get with it, but quality body with customizable options. Feels nice in your hand.

This is a hard camera for me to review. I like it a lot but it has some minor issues that hold it back from being awesome in my opinion. The image quality and auto focus are great for the style of shooting I prefer. I generally shoot studio and location portraits. However, the camera ergonomics and user interface feel like someone that has never used a camera before designed them. Expect to buy a battery charger at an additional $88 because the camera does not come with one. The in-body USB battery charging is painfully slow. Other than that, the camera is fine and a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Amazing camera! Always great quality by Sony products. Takes quick shots and extremely clear ones. Amazing auto focus aswell. I highly recommend Sony cameras.

I have nothing but good things to say about this camera and regret not getting a Sony mirrorless camera years sooner, over the other brand I was so loyal to. I record mostly video and all the features and custom buttons that this camera provides makes life easier. The ergonomics are excellent, the buttons are easy to get to and feel very professional and firm. The ability to film in low or almost no light is second to none, even when bumping up your ISO, and without the need of using a video light. The pictures are just amazing and crisp using a f1.8 or so lens. The menu system is excellent and gives you the ability to customize to your hearts content. You can easily narrow down your favorite settings and features in so many different ways, that there is no excuse for you to complain. Through out the 90's I only used Sony video camcorders, VCR's and TV's and stereos. My Sony 8mm camcorder is 25 years old and it still works, the point is that this brand builds things to last. I am confident that this camera will continue to satisfy my needs as a videographer for years to come.

Amazing camera shoots great pictures and is simple to use.

This is the best camera I have found as a point and shoot. The auto mode is super easy for our staff to use who do not have professional training, yet they are able to provide very professional pictures. Video quality is one of the best I've seen from a camera at this price point.

This camera is great for travel photography due to light weight design. The video quality is excellent. you have a bit of a learning curve with the numerous options for color profiles but it’s worth the effort. Pros: great image quality, excellent video is 4K with good dynamic range, rich in features Cons: menu is nor super user friendly

I really like this camera, I was expecting a little difference from my canon camera that I am currently using. But when I got It and started using It, I was really surprised with the built quality, versatility and ease of use. I saw a few reviews about complex menu system, But when I started using this product I found that It is not so super complicated. One thing I would suggest is to reduce compatible lens price, Lenses are so expensive for amateur photographers like me.

Let's be honest. If you are considering the Sony A7 III in 2023, you are not buying it because it represents leading edge technology. Then why buy it (especially since I currently own a Sony A7R II and a Sony A7R IVa)? The answer is simple - I was looking for a replacement for the Sony A7R II. The A7R II is a good system but the battery that it uses is really bad - compared to the battery found in the A7 III and higher Sony cameras, it offers less than half the shots per battery. Further, the features offered by the A7 III, while not cutting edge, are still more than adequate for what I was looking for - a travel camera. With the drop in price due a Best Buy sale and the fact that many of the A7 III accessories such as the battery grip have dropped greatly in price have made this camera an attractive purchase. I have already used it and I am pleased with its results. So, if you are looking for a reasonably priced, high quality camera that gives you access to the Sony, Tamron, and Sigma lenses (which are far larger than those found for Fujifilm, Canon mirrorless, and Nikon mirrorless), then this camera offers a very compelling value proposition.
