As a photographer for over 20 years, and a long-time DSLR shooter, this camera amazes me. It has all the benefits of a large sensor camera - great low-light imaging with very little noise, the ability to get beautiful blurred backgrounds, and impressive acuity. The focus system is amazingly fast. The only thing that is a little annoying for shooters that understand photography, the default automatic settings can get in the way but they can all be turned off.

I've never taken a photography class, however, in the past few years I have really developed a love for photography and vlogging. I purchased a Nikon DSLR and was hoping to use it for taking quality photos as well as video recording (with the use of auto focusing). The camera was too complicated for someone like me who was never formally trained and did not want to put hours into studying every feature the camera had to offer. I am sure the Nikon is and would have been a great choice, but I ended up selling it privately due to a heavy autofocusing noise in video mode. After countless days of research I picked up the Sony A5100. I like the flip screen and its simple, yet extremely functional design. I have taken a few photos so far and can say I am extremely impressed with the quality. The major downfall is it does overheat in video mode, but I am willing to deal with that for a great camera that I can understand and grow with.

I had a trip I was going on and needed a good camera to take with me. I was looking at the dslr cameras in best buy and seen this camera on an end cap fixture. I liked the size of the camera compared to the dslr. So I went home and did a lot of research before purchasing this camera. I am extremely happy with my purchase. It does everything a dslr does. The quality of pictures and videos are excellent. Learning to use it was easy once I downloaded the instruction book. Being the daughter of a professional photographer I have been around photography my whole life and I can only find one thing that isn't perfect with this camera and that is the fact that it doesn't have a view finder and it makes it difficult to see what you are trying to photograph when you are in bright sunlight. But since I wear glasses I wouldn't be able to use one any way. I love my camera and can't wait to take more trips and capture more memories.

The quality of the pictures is simply awesome. We love to take pictures to our kids playing, running, swimming, etc so this camera does a really good job when taking pictures of people moving around. Highly recommended. Also cool pictures of landscapes can be taken easily.

This camera is priced reasonably and is very easy to use. It is small enough and lightweight enough so that carrying is comfortable. The pictures are incredibly clear. I am very happy with the purchase.

I've had this camera for about 6 months now. I was tired of lugging my DSLR around for quick photo opts, so I wanted something smaller. This camera is great for traveling. I also love the wifi photo sharing feature... it makes it so easy to be able to post my high quality photos on the spot.

I researched and looked at reviews for at least 10 cameras in my budget, before purchasing this one. This is by far the greatest under $500 (if you get it while it's on sale). You're able to control the camera with your phone, it's great for vlogging & selfies, the quality looks great on any platform, and it shoots 1080p videos. Glad I bought it for my travels!

We were looking to upgrade from our old point and shoot. We wanted a camera that took great pictures, had wireless transfer and could post direct to Facebook... This camera does all that. We are not professional photographers nor are looking to be. We just wanted a new camera that takes great pictures. - Success!

I researched cameras before making a purchase. I was looking for something that was easy to carry, did not require a bulky camera bag and was a very decent camera. This camera has been everything I wanted plus more!

This camera is really great especially for the money! It has a nice flip screen so that I can shoot my selfies and not have to guess where the camera is pointed and it’s really light and portable compared to my old DSLR.

Needed a nw camera. was looking at a cannon TI5 but saw this and liked how compact it was. I can still put it in my purse. It takes excellent photos and I love the burst mode. I am able to capture all of my kids sporting events in vivid color. I am also able to send pictures from the camera to my phone with WiFi connect which is great for sending photos to friends with great quality.

Don't know much about cameras. All I know is I wanted something fairly lightweight, compact, and easy to use. Bought the camera a day before my travels after talking to two of my friends who have this product in updated versions.

Deserves 4.9 stars! I use this for my youtube channel. I love this thing. The image quality and autofocus is stellar. Seriously! The selfie screen is a must to anyone who has to be their own production crew. Even without a shoe mount for audio, the built in mic is sounds sweet. Only two cons. It tends to overheat and will sometimes shut down. But what really irks me sometimes is that there is no way to keep the camera on for over 30 minutes (I really have to plan around this problem a lot). This is designed into the software. They refer to it as an energy saver to auto off the device. Normally a good idea, but it doesn't care if you are using it. It WILL shut off after 30 minutes. Regardless, still adore this camera

I originally purchased the Canon G7X Mark II because of all the great reviews. However, I was really disappointed once I had the camera in my hands and was testing it out. The quality just wasn't there for me. The exterior design was great, other than that it wasn't what I was looking for. So, I purchased this one which was my second option. This wowed me from the start. I purchased it to film YouTube videos with (which I have yet to try out, unfortunately) but the photo quality alone blew me away. This is such a great camera. I've heard about the overheating problems which worries me but I'm willing to work with that for the clear photos. Great purchase, highly recommend.
