Very nice, small and compact camera that takes excellent pictures.

I purchased this camera to replace an older Canon point-and-shoot because it could not keep up taking photos of my toddler (especially with flash). This camera's rapid photo capability is incredible for capturing the moments, especially in well lit areas. The flash seems to work well at close range, and angles above the base lens well. It seems to work great as a point-and-shoot replacement with a familiar feature-set, and more performance/capability. I have not explored the manual modes, so I cannot comment on its ability in those areas. The WiFi functionality to transfer photos to a network device is not full-featured and lacking (from what I would expect from a high-end device), and requires special setup rather than just showing up like a network device, or automatically pushing new photos to a standard SMB share. You can control aspects from a modern phone, but I haven't used it enough to comment. That functionality didn't impact my rating as it was a bonus feature and not a requirement or even a nice-to-have for me. Overall, it is exactly what I needed, and glad I bought a big and fast SD card along with it. Don't forget, 24MP photos are 4-8MB each in JPEG mode, and at 6FPS, you're looking at > 30 MB per second when shooting photos, not to mention 1080P video.

This camera is awesome! We were looking for a camera that would help us take pictures of our 9 month old. With our old camera, it was always blurry because she was moving. With this camera, we can take multiple pictures quickly and find at atleast one that isn't blurry. Great camera!

This is an amazing camera. It has many amazing features. Good for beginners although to get the most out of the camera, learning how-to use the more advance settings would be wise. I have taken amazing photographs with it and I absolutely love it. The flash is very bright so a diffuser is needed. Overall amazing. I love it!

The camera is very light and compact. Takes excellent pictures and video.

I've always bought Sony cameras but this time I had decided I was going to get a Canon or Nikon but yeah I ended up purchasing another Sony camera because of the amazing reviews and the great quality it provides its customers. I've been using this camera for about a month now and it has not let me down even once . The quality is amazing and it focuses so well with blurring the background while filming a video . I don't need to keep readjusting during filming a video, it just automatically focuses itself which is a great feature . I give this camera five stars because it has met all of my expectations and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great camera .

We use this camera solely as a "webcam" for streaming. We have not experienced the overheating that some folks have reported. This camera provides a great picture quality at a reasonable price point. We picked this up on sale so that made the decision that much easier! The body of the camera has only felt slightly warm after 4 hours of continuous use. Also, I believe the level of warmth wasn't much different from 2 hours of use versus 4 hours of use. We power this camera with an official Sony dummy battery. The flip screen is very useful and the retractable lens is a plus.

This camera is easy to use and makes great pictures and video. The grainy iPhone pics are a thing of the past

Bought this camera for my daughter, it was an upgrade from a point and shoot Fuji. She loves it, it offers point and shoot simplicity for me and all the options she likes. The pictures are awesome and that has rejuvenated her interest, and mine, in photography. The wireless features and apps on the camera work great and make it easy to get the pics from the camera to what ever device you like. The only cons on this camera are: no view finder no flash mount I probably should have spent the extra doe on the A6000 but I was all ready over budget after bundling the Sony - 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 Telephoto Lens. If you're interested in this camera think about the A6000.

I like the small compactness of this camera. Feels much like a point n shoot and it takes great photos like a DSLR. I also love the flip up screen for selfies.

Small and versatile on the go that takes great photos and videos. Flip screen for those vlog videos and the lense can easily be changed. Only down side is that it overheats n shuts down when capturing 20 min long videos. Most of my videos that I capture are 10 mins tops.

light easy to use, and it got very good picture worth it

This camera is pretty high tech for me considering that I'm a beginner. I'm still playing around with it. It takes really great quality photos and videos. It's perfect for someone that wants to document their artistry or family trip Photos (In general). I'm VERY satisfied and happy with my decision in purchasing this camera!

Love the camera itself and how you can add different lenses onto it. Price was pretty high compaired to the a6000 or whatever it is that’s supposed to be better but that’s okay. I wish there was a better case for the camera I bought this specific one so I wouldn’t have to lug around a huge camera but it doesn’t fit into the small cases and the big ones I might as well have bought a huge camera

This camera is fantastic, I researched for hours before I pulled the trigger on this. I'm so glad I come to the decision to get the Sony a5100 all around a great camera. Doesn't have all the controls on top and some other bells and whistles the a6000 has but it does more than its job to take beautiful pictures. Very happy with my purchase!
