    Best Mirrorless Camera 2014

The Sony A6000 is one of the best mirrorless cameras in 2014. The build quality of the camera body is excellent and the button layout has a lot of customization options. When paired with a fast E-mount prime lens such as the Zeiss 35mm 2.8 or the Sony 50mm 1.8 OSS the camera produces excellent images that rival or surpass results from other competing mirrorless/DSLR cameras that use an APS-C size sensor. Video quality is also best in class. The autofocus is extremely fast and accurate, even in continuous mode an area where competing mirrorless cameras fare poorly. The only drawbacks if any are the relatively poor battery life when compared to traditional DSLRs, a common characteristic of mirrorless cameras which use an electronic viewfinder.

The more you work with digital cameras, the more you realize how important accurate focus is. What makes the Sony A6000 stand out is how fast and how accurately it focuses. I am attaching a head crop from a casual shot of my daughter at the swimming pool, first day I had this camera; lens was a Sony/Zeiss 16-70 F4. Focus just doesn't get any better. There's the new A6300 which is even faster, and with a few more options including S Log 2 and 3 and 4k video, but for hundreds of dollars more. On good thing, the 6300 does us the favor of causing some discounts on the A-6000 that make it just an incredible value. I also have and recommend the Nikon D5500...if it is fairly comparably priced. Either of these cameras regularly produces shots of a quality unknown on any digital camera only 10 years ago. And for both, excellent lenses are available at pretty reasonable prices. But if I had to choose only one, it would be the A6000.

What can I say this camera is by far the best camera I have ever had it's amazing. This camera right here is competing against 1,000$ camera. The reason why I love it so much it's cause how small it is compared to normal dslr. Dslr are just so big to carry around and just gets annoying of carrying around when I go to family events and just makes me not wanna take a picture but with the Sony a6000 I take it every were I go now it's so small and portable. It's take pictures at 24.3 megapixels most camera are at 18-20 megapixels. & another thing that caught my attention of this camera is the frames per second most dslr camera the "higher end" camera tend to have 4-6 frames per second wich is nothing compared to the a6000 the a6000 is at 11 frames per second and he reason why this is a must is cause I take a bunch of baby pictures and we all know how much they move so when I use this a6000 at 11 frames per seconds it takes so manny quick pictures so manny that I never miss the shot apose to a normal dslr might have to retake the picture a couple of times.

So far I really like this camera...the thing I didn’t like was that it came with a 3 month free trial of adobe included with this purchase and when I was going to activate it, it said it was only valid until April 11 I bought my camera April 28! That shouldn’t even be included if I can’t use it!!! It was a disappointment

Purchased this camera because of its size and ability to shoot auto racing. There are a ton of features but the manual is pretty terrible at explaining them. Sony does have a good 4D focus guide on their website that can be found through TheGoogle.

I am a Nikon SLR user but when it came time to get a small "Walk Around" Camera I selected the Sony 6000. I am a prime lens fan and using the Sony 35 and 50 mm primes have produced images almost as sharp as my Nikons. A really nice camera with enough control to please most avid photographers.

This camera is the best camera I have ever used. It focuses so quickly I was able to take a pic of The Flash when he ran by my work. This camera is small I can take pic of anyone without them knowing. Also I feel the image quality is way better than Canon 5D, 6D, or 7D. Sometimes I look at the pic on the big screen and it makes me feel like if I was looking at the actual scene through a window. So realistic. So affordable. Just buy this camera with any money you have.

I love this camera; granted I've been in the Sony line for some time. I have two other cameras (a5000, NexC3). The real advantage to my way of thinking if you're at the point where you're relying on a review is the speed to focus, and the speed to shoot (11fps). Now there other other features, such as the lock on auto focus that garner attention, but those are the biggies in my book. So, if you're a parent with a fast kid, and you need to capture those moments in between moments, this is a great option. It will help you get there. You can use the manual settings, you can leave it on superior auto (which essentially makes it a glorified point and shoot) but the camera will raise to your level of technicality. You can swap the lenses so if you want a different type of looks, you can do that. you can get a lot of lenses off of Craigslist, you can even get an adapter and go old school with like Minolta or Nikon lenses if you want. This is an all around great camera. A little heavy on the he battery life if I'm being critical, but that's the trade off for speed and focus. Get a few extra batteries and you'll be fine.

Since the firdt mirrorles came out I was drawn to the idea of dslr quality in a smaller siza. I used the sony nex 5 for 4 yers only to realize in the end , my photos were not as good as those i took with the nikon d50. So i went back to the nikon d5300 and returned it two weeks later (heavy!) I crossed my fingers and got the sony a6000 and i cant be happier! The images are crisp, Sharp, it works quite well in low light, the inteligent auto mode is awesome! It is really a superior auto for when you dont have time to set every shot or if you just want great pictures without the hassle. All in a very small size... Finally a camera that has the best of both worlds!

I absolutely love this camera. I purchased this camera for its compact size and the 24 mega pixels. I have been a Canon shooter for 10 years but after watching Jason Lanier shooting with Sony on You Tube, I had to save and go buy this. Shoots 11 fps, with more options than my Canon, it's wonderful. However I am still learning the camera with time permitting. I bought the 210mm, 50mm Macro and the Bower Fisheye. I am impressed all the way around. Pictures are sharp, colors are vivid. Will I switch from Canon to Sony, NO! The Sony will come in handy using the fisheye for weddings, and sunsets. Canon does have the fisheye lens of course but, I saved money and bought the Sony (that I wanted) with 3 lenses for what I would of paid for the Canon fisheye lens. I am a Happy Shooter! If you like it, buy it!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this camera! Need I say more? Seriously, this is an amazing camera from Sony! I traded up from my Sony NEX 5n to this latest model and I can totally see the difference. The images are super sharp and the speed is faster. The camera itself is a bit bigger to handle but I think it fit better in your hand. Over all, a better camera!

I purchased the a6000 open box body only for $300 in store with a Sony 50mm open box for $107. The price was unbeatable. I took this camera to Banff and was able to capture stunning photographs. It is light and compact which made it pretty easy to take on hikes without coming in the way. I do regret not buying another wide-angle lens for the landscape though.

This camera is a replacement for My Nex-7 that was stolen. I love the size and the quality of the pictures. I wish there was an affordable zoom lens that lets in more light at far zoom than the one available. So I have only fixed 1.8 and 2.8 lenses.

LOVE THIS CAMERA! Sony has really stepped up their game by adding some high quality lenses. Their first couple of generations of these cameras were good, but they were essentially glorified point-and-shoots. The adjustments and settings were all hidden away in back menus that took forever to navigate and change. This version all the key settings upfront and available and you can customize the buttons to further make the settings you change most often available to you. The camera is very light and so small that I actually ran a half-marathon with the camera clipped to my hip. I was able to get the best race photos yet. Definitely recommended for anybody that's tired of lugging around their larger SLR equipment. (Though I've been very hesistant to give up my own, too nostalgic!)

This is a great camera, but hopefully it will last longer than the previous one (older model of this same camera). It sometimes has trouble syncing up with the new lens too. Hopefully doesn't need to go in for repairs already...

I traded in my Canon Rebel t2i for a Sony a600. I made the plunge due to the small size of the a6000 and it's impressive features. Though I haven't used the camera a ton, I like what I see and how light it is! I'll definitely be taking it to Europe with me this spring.

I previously had a Nikon D3200 DSLR camera and an thoroughly impressed with this Sony! As someone who is still learning to use the settings on my camera the Sony has made the setting easier to understand as the screen shows you how your photo will look differently with different adjustments! Mirrorless has been an adventure for me and I have been recommending to my beginner friends! I have gotten some great shots with this camera & love how lightweight it is compared to a DSLR! The wifi feature has been the best- it makes it so much easier to share!
