Customers are impressed with the Alpha a6000's camera quality, ease of use, and compact size, frequently praising its lightweight design. Many also appreciate the camera's features and find it offers good value for the price. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and low-light performance and autofocus could be more reliable. The telephoto lens's autofocus functionality has also received some criticism.

The perfect camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a powerful camera in a small and light package. So many features and yet, still easy to use. The images the lens give are crisp and detailed. Sport/action photography is a joy with the 55-210mm lens. Great bundle for a great price!

Awesome features for a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this kit for a trip to Africa after getting recommendations from an friend who is a professional photographer I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars. It's lightweight, comes with a telephoto zoom lens too. Tons of features that I may not use, but who knows. I also read great reviews online from a pro. There are also great articles on the web to help you understand the numerous functions on the machine. At 24 megapixels, I can get great enlargements (beyond the standard 8x10.. A 64MB SD card will hold thousands of pictures. Can also use it for doing movies (I think about 20 min per segment because of file size limits ... not card size limits.)

Great camera!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a lightweight camera that performs better than any camera I have ever used. The added lens enables me to take closeups from a distance. This was exactly the camera I needed.

Super quality camera and lenses.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alpha 6000 is a great quality camera and lenses (2) that are easy of a relative novice to use, but also has a real variety of settings including capacity to set f stop, shutter speed and many other options for great effects and pinpointing subjects and scenes in a variety of ways. My only complaint so far is that the autofocus is slow and somewhat inaccurate in low light. I haven't found a "fix" or workaround to the problem, but it seems to be intermittent, and can be partially overcome through patience and waiting for the image to focus. Also the battery life is relatively short, so advise packing a second battery when you go on a shoot..

Great quality photos and video!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought another Sony camera that had great quality as well. Only because it was a "vlogger" camera. But the battery life was not good at all. It would die in the middle of my videos. And it would overheat. This camera shuts down from an automatic timer (29 mins), but you just have to hit the record button again, it doesn't die very fast. But I have to say..... the camera quality is ASTOUNDING!!! Clear crisp pictures and video EVERY TIME. Great sound quality on playback when editing. This camera picks up EVERYTHING! I love the auto-focusing feature as well. When I am showing off something in my videos it works EXACTLY as needed without me having to touch the camera. I was fortunate enough to find this camera "Open Box", so it was an even exchange for the other camera, which I purchased brand new. But even if I would have had to spend the extra money on this one, it would have been well worth it!!! My daughter uses it to record her videos as well. The excellent quality on the video had boosted her confidence to record more!

Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera around a month ago. I bought it because it was reasonably priced and would be an upgrade from my smartphone camera. I chose this above the beginner DSLR cameras because it’s light and suits my needs better. Personally, I’m buying this to make my photos from travels better quality. So far, the picture quality has been fantastic as far as I can tell, and it’s easy to carry around. Only downside is when I’m try to take pictures indoors wit poor lighting. It may just be my inexperience but I would recommend this for outdoor use or places with good lighting. Hope someone found this useful!

nice APS-C sensor camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an older model but it sure gets the job done. The only negative I have found with it is the battery life can be less than a day of shooting. The camera takes quality pictures ,focus is quick and accurate, and is very light for its capabilities. I really like the scene mode which will enhance the scene of choice. It will shoot RAW and JPEG at the same time. Great value!

One more great Sony Alpha
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Sony NEX 5n which was starting to fail on me, so I wanted a new camera for an upcoming vacation. I stuck with an Alpha series because I already had the lenses to go with it. I didn't want the 16-50 power zoom lens, but it was cheaper to buy the package and than to buy the body and 55-210 separately. The 16-50 is more compact than the 18-55 lens that came with my older camera, and is quite sharp. Compared to the NEX5-n, the Alpha 6000 loses the screen that folds all the way up to take selfies, and the touch shutter. It gains a built in flash, rather than separate, and the controls are laid out better, and the menus more logical. Even after using the NEX5-n for years, I was often scratching my head trying to remember where a certain function was, the Alpha 6000 is much more user friendly. I went with the 6000 rather than the 6300 because the 6300 offered minor advantages over the 6000 for a big price difference, and I haven't been disappointed in my choice. Battery life seems shorter than with the NEX5-N. I went through three fully charged batteries in one day at Universal Studios. A spare battery or two is highly recommended. The 6000 gains 8 megapixels over the NEX5-N, and it shows. The pictures are sharp and finely detailed. The viewfinder is a nice feature in sunny weather. Overall a great camera for anyone interested in an interchangeable lens camera.

Sharp photos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the quality of the photos. The auto focus is fast but will lag when the camera has many objects in the frame. Very fast shutter when in continuous shooting. You will want an external flash because the built in flash provides harsh light (though very bright).
