My 13 year old son was always taking pictures and editing them on his iPhone when realized he truly wanted to take pictures with a real camera. He spent hours researching the sony vs canon. They were quite comparable but he ultimately chose the sony because of price. He has bought 2 lenses and filters since and brings it with him everywhere. He loves that he can easily upload the photos to his computer for editing through wifi. Great investment!

I was looking for a light, practical camera that still provided me with great picture quality and this camera was definitely it. After doing some research, I felt this provided me the most bang for my buck. It had all the features I wanted - interchangeable lens, easy to carry, preview screen, built in wifi, etc. It is affordable and takes good pictures with the lens that comes in the kit. I have just purchased a 200mm lens and I'm excited to see how much more I'll be able to enjoy this camera with that. I'm fairly new to photography and I feel this was a good starting point, but I will definitely be growing my Sony alpha collection. :)

    tricky controls ,fastfocus,portable and capable.

tricky controls takes some getting use to charged it twice just playing with all the controls menus etc. The a6000 is very quick to focus in on auto, DMF focus is a cool option which helps with bokeh but is part of manual focusing. I own the canon rebel sl1 which is the smalllest dslr canon offers and the a6000 is the smaller of the two in comparison. slow shutter speeds 30 "and fast shutter speeds 1/4000 along with aperture control makes the camera a good every day shooter.

i have had this camera for about a month, and I love it. The photos are startlingly good- it is like looking at a scene through an open window - great color, extremely sharp. So glad I added the 50mm Prime Sony lens, especially for portraits! This is my 3rd Sony camera and this one I would not trade for any Canon or Nikon. Great size (small), amazing speed, and beautiful photos.

Decent lens, although there are better Sony lens options at additional cost. Good connectivity, fast autofocus. Better features and performance than similarly priced DSLR cameras from Canon and Nikon.

Purchased this camera after reading many positive. reviews and it definitely lived up to them. The speed and quality of the camera were great. Unfortunately it did not completely meet our needs. Being in professional video and film I was looking for a camera I could use but my wife who isn't as experienced could also use. This camera fit her end but not mine. I was left wanting a bit more professional level features. It's a fantastic camera for the average person to just pick up and shoot with you wont be disappointed if that's what your needing. My biggest negative about this camera, and others in the sony mirrorless line if that the led screen is not fully articulating, This seems like a no brainier at this level of camera and pretty frustrating sony left that off. If I'm filming myself I can of course hook up one of my external monitors to see what I'm doing but how much easier to just flip the screen? Also since these cameras post directly to web why not have the ability to post higher quality selfies etc? I ended up returning this and purchasing the sony A77ii which is a bit more robust for my needs.

I had the original Minolta for a long time. Then switched to Canon and then Olympus EPL-5. I was never able to like the Olympus, so returned it and started looking into Sony A6000. This is the best decision I made for a long time. Took the camera for a two weeks European trip and loved it. It is very small, easy to carry, fast reaction, excellent pictures. All in all, this is one of the best investments I made in a long time.

I came from a Canon t2i 17-55mm f/2.8 set up, but got tired/lazy from bringing my gear around and only taking a few pics. I'd miss a lot of opportunities for family pics. Now that I have the lighter, more agile Sony A6K, I catch a lot of great pics of my 18 month old son, wife, and the rest of our families. The 11 fps is a blessing and a curse. You can choose the perfect picture between many subtle changes, however you need to stay on top of deleting the multiples that you don't want. It adds up quick. The on-the-fly adjustments are my favorite feature. No more shoot, look, adjust, etc. Now you can adjust the picture in the view finder and that's the way the pic will come out.

Love the a6000 takes great pictures & video. Wish it had better battery life and an input for an external mic and I wish the lcd flipped all the way around so you can see it from in front of the camera. The microphone can be fixed by an external recorder & syncing in post so its fixable

Honestly, this is a great starter camera for someone looking to get into the mirrorless game. Has some great features for the money and you can get some really great images from this with a little training. If you know how to use a camera like this, you will see that this is a great B-roll camera to use. Its a lot smaller than you think, she go check it out before you buy. I had this for a few years and it served me well. I just recently upgrade to the 6500 and I could not be happier. Either way you go, this is a good deal if the price is right.

Love this camera. Great quality pictures for such a small camera. I got it for an "in between" for something better than my phone but not as bulky as my DSLR. Love it. The battery isn't as great as my DSLR, but I got a couple extra batteries for it and haven't had an issue. I usually turn the camera off between photos.

This is my first manual camera so I had to do lots of research on how to use it, but it's easy enough. Or you can put it on manual and the pictures are still great. I have had so many comments on how clear the pictures are. I'm loving learning how to use it. My only complaint is that I had to find the detailed manual on the European Sony website, they didn't have it on the U.S. Site. It would have been nice to have a bound book included in the box.

This Camera is great and has the option of shooting in auto for beginners or manual mode for more advanced users. We have a slight problem with blur which is disappointing but all in all its a great little camera. Definitely lighter than our Canon dslr, so more convenient during traveling and hiking etc.

The sony a 6000 is perhaps the best buy in terms of a 1.5x crop sensor DSLR in today's market. It is the smallest, lightest, and highest quality image producing tool in it's class.
